We'd just finished a teach-in at University of Alaska- Fairbanks re. the USA PATRIOT ACT, shortly after its passage. I fell into a large padded chair behind the curtain, and was a mess. Someone out front asked the audience if there were any questions or comments. A beautiful young woman came up to the stage, and took the mic. She sang this a'capela

What a beautiful voice she had, with a sense of serenity, in a time of greater unknown.
