I don't have a clue what all these German foods are but I'd try them.there are lots of veggies and nuts that have lots of protein.only thing is you got to eat a lot more of them but it can be done.heres a pasta dish I made a couple days ago.angel hair pasta with turkey meat, mushrooms and red peppers.wish I had more veggies to throw in and some real picorino romano but it wasn't bad.looks kinda like yours Herman!

no,i wish it was but it was baked very fresh from Costco and it is very good.Do you guys have Costco over there?probably not.id like to get a bread maker but bread would go moldy if i didnt freeze it.seems like bread either gets eaten quickly here or goes bad.could be the humidity.its been real bad lately.you seem like the baker here.got any tips and what kind of bread do you usually make?

I googled and apparantly Costco does exists in europe but I´m not so sure where exactly. I´ve certainly never seen one in my area. I read that they want to expand into the european market.
We have other retail chains including bakery chains but they´re all about cheap mass production.

As far as baking goes, I´m haven´t even reached the beginners stage. I would probably need to be a lot better in order to enroll onto a beginners course, lol. :p
I only began baking bread occasionaly for health reasons. I rarely eat bread but when I do I just make my own.

You´re right, bread is very sensitive to things like humidity. I freeze my bread too because I don´t eat that much all at once. Whenever I do that my body compaints about it :(

I really recommend trying to make your own, especially if you like to eat bread. it´s cheaper and healthier too btw
It´s very satisfying to make it and eating fresh bread straight out of the oven when it´s still warm is absolutely delicious! :) especially when the butter is melting ... 😋
Bread is always best on the day it was made!

You really don´t need to go out and spend money on a bread maker, believe me. All you need is a bowl , a handmixer and an oven ,unless you only want to use your hands to mix the dough, lol (but that´s a LOT more work).

I usually make baguette. But i´ve also made those you bake in those deep rectangular forms.

so sprouts is literally cheaper than McDs, I got 4 organic burritos and 2 organic mango lemonades for the price of a large combo, I've been mocking up meals on their website to figure the cost, I can get a pound of salmon fillet for like $12 and a pack of wild rice to make pilaf for $6, that's over a pound of food so if I cut it into quarters it's more than a 1/4lb of salmon and rice pilaf for $4.50

probably not going to do the hotdogs again after this round, but am going to start rotating my handmade cheese pizza, salmon and rice pilaf, and a spicy vegan thai noodle dish, with occasional grabs of the frozen burritos and maybe a round of making sandwiches with their low sodium deli turkey and cheese every now and again

I also got a big bag of organic grapes for like $3, gonna grab some mangoes too when they have a fresher restock

apparently there is a "hack" where the great value brand stuff says "return the package for replacement or money back" and allegedly someone did it with steaks, but they eventually deny you if you do it too frequently

sprouts is nice because it's never too much of a zoo and if you have limited ingredients/meals that you can work out mostly with their brand stuff it's really cheap, their dish soap is probably decent too, but they don't have like "normal" laundry soap and nothing like lysol or anything
