What are you drinking?

a jigger of Toleco reposado tequila, followed b a joint of outdoor-grown Ghost Train Haze #1 from the Goldstream Valley; my clones, someone else's art-work. Jousting with ego-driven, maniacal Docs has driven me to a day of dedicated self-destruction. And I'm well underway.

Went a bit off track and picked this one up in Dublin. Not to shabby for an Irish whiskey... sweet note sharp on the tongue... not quite in the same league as the single malt but a palatable dram none the less. It’s a cold night.......

^^^ You've got reasonably-priced air mail to the US, don't you Herman???? ;^>)

All about the bock beer here!! And 7.2 is a very acceptable abv rating.

Finished my dark stout cup of French Roast coffee a bit ago, after a meeting with a Doc more suited to my desires.

Now for a bottle of Founders Brewing Co. Porter at 6.5% abv. A bit thicker than some porters, but nice, tasty, and smooth.

Then.... THE SHOP!! and better informed adjustments to soilless mixes...

(And sorry guys; I'm constantly out of rep these days... next time around..).

Hello Moose Eater, well a little bit to expansive by air mail ;-). But it is very delicious, all 2 weeks I buy 2 new boxes. Since i know the Engel beer, i don´t like industrial beer like Becks or Heineken not more so well.

Interesting that you know bock Beer in the states.

I just googled Porter Beer, well it´s very close to Bock i think?

Maybe one thing is amusing or interesting. One my workplace it´s often boring and than i watch google maps, the whole world or Germany. If i watch Germany, I see soo many little towns, where they brew beer and where the town gave the name of the beer. Warstein, Einbeck, Jever and so on.:)

I only now saw your posted reply, Herman. I apologize. I guess I've been preoccupied in many ways, yet getting little done.

I like the Paulaner Salvator Double Bock, and my reading tells me it's a 375 year old recipe. They charge too much for it here, but I scored a case during Oktoberfest, and I'm now told by the store staff that their computer somehow made an error, and apparently gave me a 24-case of it for $2 less/six-pack ($8 less per case) than they pay for it whole sale... No. I didn't feel bad.. :)

I just opened an Iron Horse Brewery 'Irish Death,' Dark Ale, at 7.8% abv. I suspect you'd like it. Very smooth, definitely has more body than an average American Pale Ale, and dark, but without all the 'thickness' or heaviness of a porter, bock, double-bock, or a stout.

I've been staying to 1 to 2 beer or alcoholic beverages per day, as a rule, and never back-to-back. Don't really care for too much alcohol buzz, as much as other substances, to include hash and cannabis.

Anyway, I've found of late, that with my current metabolism, if I drink a stout beer, I get a bit of a 'downer' effect sometimes, but if I do a jigger of good tequila, it's not as much of a depressant or sedative. I've assumed it's a matter of calories and carbohydrates, and my not being active enough lately.

I think I may have written this before, but in 1991-ish, we were in Amsterdam. I considered going up North to Groningen to see a Dutch acquaintance from the Yukon Territory Canada days back in the 1970s, then found he'd moved to Eelderwolde (spelling?).

Anyway, we left Holland, headed for Germany, & went to see my wife's friend from her university days, who lived in N. Germany, up near Schleswig, in a little cross-roads village called Ulsby. Pretty cool place at that time..

I rode a borrowed bicycle into a nearby town, and found a bakery; German beer and baked goods being tied for 'awesomeness'.

The women at the bakery weren't as fluent in English as the Dutch had been, overall, and I'm your average (almost) unilingual American (but for a bit of French, and less German), but I managed to score some very nice baked goods. Seems when there's a language barrier between people, especially of different genders, there's a lot of giggling takes place where otherwise there might be words.:)

Thanks for the post.

No problem, Herman. It would probably be much easier if I weren't such a unilingual American, and hadn't spent so much time getting stoned at 7:30 A.M. before my foreign language classes in middle school and high school.

We never actually made it to Groningen, instead leaving from Dam Central Station/Dam Sq. on the train that stopped in nearly EVERY burg along the tracks, and I'd eaten about an 1/8 oz. of black Afghani hash (of the 1/4 oz. I had left), due to not knowing what the border would be like, as the EU was taking shape then..

As it turned out, there was no real formal process at the border, and my wife was -quite- embarrassed by my -very- stoned behavior, with my chin bouncing off my chest every few seconds.. all day long.

No, I've never eaten that much hash again at one time. Don't recommend it, either.

For an herbal tea, I can recommend Rooibos - my new favorite. Wish I discovered this stuff a long time ago!

V8 juice. Well, the store brand equivalent. My recent checkup was a wakeup. Gotta drop about 40 lbs, and get my blood sugar and triglycerides down
