Apparently I bought out all of the Narragansett Lager at the liquor store I go to, so I had to settle for Molson Canadian. Both are cheaper and better than Budweiser.

Founders Brewing Co. 'Dirty Bastard' Scot ale, @ 8.5% abv...

And I'm off to drop and limb a couple medium-size standing-dead spruce trees, buck 'em into ~4' lengths, and put them onto a freight sled a load at a time, to pull back up to the firewood staging, stacking, and aging area behind the barn.

Things best done after a puff or two, a good beer, and well before all the snow melts and leaves us having to do this shit by hand.

Since the harvest came in three weeks ago it is two medium poppy pods and two scoops of sumatra with the grinder set on 'fine'.

Two cups of almost boiling lemon water finish the preparation and this is breakfast. It lasts until late afternoon.

I do this for a month after every poppy harvest, running out of pods between harvests compares to a two day cold, no big deal.

Found a spot here in my hometown (in Mich) that sells my favorite Russian Stout and I bought 2 four packs again today. North Coast Brewery in Ft. Bragg California. We used to live just south of there. But anyways...Old Rasputin Russian Stout. My god man!!! So good. So damn good. That bitter malty chocolaty goodness. And a 4 pack will get ya going for sure. North Coast has a few I like. The Scrimshaw is really good as well. Trying to get this little deli fine wine beer store to start stocking some of North Coasts other brews. You Californians know that of which I speak. Popular out there. My gal and I like to twist up a fine cone of a dank Sin City strain or something indica and throw on some Dead or Little Feat and get down and boogie. Good beer. Good doobies. Good music. And Good Food. Good times for our home body asses.
