Industry coalition calls on U.S. govt. to aid in reshoring of PPE manufacturing

An industry coalition representing the U.S. personal protective equipment (PPE) production released a statement outlining policy principles and objectives needed for reshoring and safeguarding domestic PPE manufacturing.
The joint statement noted:
The COVID-19 pandemic, which exposed severe shortages in U.S. PPE supply and an over-reliance on foreign-sourced products, underscores how important it is for the U.S. government to incentivize, support and maintain domestic manufacturing capacity for PPE.
Our association members, encompassing every segment of the U.S. textile, apparel and PPE supply chain, as well as unions representing workers, acted swiftly to convert manufacturing facilities and build supply chains virtually overnight to produce desperately needed PPE.
We are united in our support of important principles that must be adopted in order to address our current public health needs and guarantee our nation is better prepared to respond to future emergencies.
The statement was signed by the following organizations:
AFL-CIO
Alliance for American Manufacturing
American Iron and Steel Institute
American Sheep Institute
Coalition for a Prosperous America
Georgia Association of Manufacturers
Hand Tools Institute
INDA: Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry
Narrow Fabrics Institute
National Cotton Council
National Council of Textile Organizations
Parachute Industry Association
Rhode Island Textile Innovation Network
SEAMS: Association of the U.S. Sewn Products Industry
SEIU
South Carolina Textile Council
U.S. Industrial Fabrics Institute
United States Footwear Manufacturers Association
United Steelworkers
Warrior Protection and Readiness Coalition
Workers United/SEIU

its so typical of these elite life time rulers, they think the rules they make are for you not for them, thats why they are ready to impose this tyranny on people, they know they will not pay the price, they live in their mansions with pools gardens tenis courts, who gives a fuck about the little guy and the suffering they impose to maintain their political narratives.

there have been politicians all over the world getting busted like this and its always the most big mouthed virtue signalling mother fuckers telling us how we are murders for going outside, while they live life as always. fuck em all.

3 things and i'm done with this thread.
1. the 1918 flu was nothing more than bacterial pneumonia.
2. how do y'all feel that CDC updated it's counting error? 94% of the 160,000+ deaths were more than only covid.
looks like we are down to 6% of what was initially stated as covid deaths. under 10k.
this is direct from the CDC website, which y'all hold in high regard, can't argue with that now can ya?
3. Sweden never did any of this precautionary BS and its numbers are some of the lowest on the planet. granted they aren't as unhealthy as a country as we are. most of our food additives are banned worldwide. it's almost like we are bred to be sick.

CF out, i'll hear from u guys in another 2-4 years on our next election year pandemic!!
Thx for the chuckles tho :)

Flu isn't bacterial, its viral.
The 1918 flu was the H1N1 strain. I was ambulanced into a high dependency ward with it 2.5years ago where I nearly died, and would have without the medical care.
The new Chinese creation is not the flu. It is worse.

Our country went to war over a one time incident that cost 2000 lives.
We are loosing a over a thousand people a day each and every day.
It has become more than obvious the CDC is now the victim of regulatory
capture.
When one looks at the projected math at not doing anything at all,
the number of deaths which will result, and the number who will have ongoing life long complications become very ugly.
I have a difficult time seeing anything to chuckle about.

Salon??
Looked to me like the back room of someones house.
But what do i know...I haven’t been in a “salon” for years.

sorry but it doesn't matter what it looks like to you, facts are its a hair salon that is closed by local government order and forbidden from doing any hair cuts etc indoors.

the owner is going broke as she is forbidden from working in her salon, but when queen pelosi needs a style with her favourite hairdresser, the rules no longer apply. in a real democracy shed have to resign for the blatant hypocrisy. this bitch was lecturing Trump about setting a bad example for months now and looki here what we have....

plus clients have to wear masks too. these are the rules this woman is lecturing everyone about from her mansions, with her thousand dollar ice cream supply. but of course the masks are for us peasants to sweat and suffer under. not for her noble ladyship, rep for life, pelosi. no no no.

Lost my spouse to H1N1 in 2014.
You are fortunate indeed.
Hit her so quickly and so hard that my head still spins.
The thought of anyone else loosing their loved ones
over something that can be prevented does not sit
well with me.
When something as simple as a mask and social
distancing can save lives, it makes sense to me
to take such an approach.

Can't even imagine what it must have cost to rent an empty hairdressers place to get one's hair done.
Seems too me like it would be a responsible thing to do, but that it would be expensive.
Am left chuckling when I think of comparing the expenses of Nancy and Donald with their
appearances.

Back in the age of Paper Magazines, there was a fascinating article about 15 years ago, about a scientific expedition to Norway, to dig up a gravesite containing the remains of 1918 flu victims/ patients.

to obtain samples for US AMRIID, the US gov. bio labs.

i guess if i collected viruses, i'd want a sample of the 1918 flu too ? /sarc.

guess i'll stick to collecting rocks and coins and tools. And animal droppings ! :rtfo:
