That's because it's a rhinovirus or acute coryza....more than 200 different viruses are known to cause the symptoms of the common cold.
Agreed, until there is staistics and positive outcomes, rushing a vaccine for the sake of politics....suicide?
Many of us could ask why a narrow minded angry person is allow on here, such as you. Certainly several.
Yep, doing my job as a state healthcare employee, understanding how COVID is spread and ways to reduce that spread.

lol, I don´t think that that is how surgeons or other docs look after 12 hours. and the second pic is totally exaggerated imo
besides you don´t wear the mask unless you have to, right? you only wear it when there are other people around you who may or may not be infected

they are doing massive stage 3 trails as we speak. so that means its effective, they only need to make sure its safe. but yes it could be 1 or all of them end up being declared unsafe. although i have a feeling at least some of the companies working on this will get it right. never have as many companies worked to get a vaccine in record time like this.
btw. we do have flue vaccines in my country for many many years.
I've made a decision to discuss issues, rather than try to educate those a whole system failed to educate. So here goes:
At the start of the pandemic, there was no social distancing, no mask wearing and we were coming out of winter. Therefore everyone's vitamin d levels were at their lowest, people were at their closest and least protected from virus's in the air. On top of that, no one had had covid. It was easy for the virus to find new hosts.
Over the summer, we knew about it, we were topping up vitamin d in the sunshine, or with tablets, we had masks and socially distanced. So the number of cases fell. People, especially the young became complacent, and numbers rose, especially in the young.
But the viral loads were lower, the typical host younger and the vit d levels higher. The death rate remained low. Now those young are passing it through their families, but the sun is still out and the wise are still taking precautions. Deaths are still much lower than they used to be.
However, death rates are always delayed by around a month from number of infected. In the months to come, older groups will become exposed to it again due to the actions of their young relatives, the sun will become less giving as we enter winter. Vitamin d levels will drop. People look at recent statistics and feel safer, and so take fewer precautions, higher risks. Delayed numbers will start to filter through and deaths will increase. The only ray of hope is that the more people who have historically had and recovered from it, the less opportunities the virus will have to take hold of a host to multiply. We will drift towards heard immunity, vaccine or no vaccine. But deaths will increase. The virus is the same, we are still the same, its circumstances that change.
Some think that those who were most vulnerable, have already passed, but this is not a quantum virus. It did not go everywhere at once and affect those most vulnerable first. Many of the most vulnerable have yet to encounter the virus, and while we can guess at who they are, we cannot know. It could be you. Be safe peeps.

We have extra masks....I go through 5-6 a day and wash them once getting home.
Never has been a "cure" for the common rhinovirus. A lot of OTC (over the counter) meds are used, a billion $$$$ industry, but unless it turns to pneumonia, there is no cure. Viruses mutate and prior post, mentioned 200+ cold viruses.
The ol' adage...SEVEN days with meds, or 7 days without, the cold symptoms usually subside either approach. I take OTC to calm cough, throat, phlegm.
The flu vaccine is only around 40% effective. Coronavirus vaccine is hoped to be around 60% effective, in order to be considered "effective". Your vaccines are not miracle cures.
We're told over and over that vaccines are "safe and effective" "safe and effective". Ok.. Well if the definition of "effective is only a 40% to 60% range, I wonder what "safe" means. Things to think about.
Even with the vaccines you can still get it. Where teh data that tells us you cant get it again , again, again
It’s a crap shoot. They do intense studies, peer reviewed trials, then they throw the dice. When they’ve saved more lives than they’ve lost, it’s considered a win.
No its not curable. We can only reduce the symptoms/effects.
