Personally id go 5 gallon smart pots pots with handles. Thays what i use for my mothers and i make a new one once the old ones are like 6ft tall. You can drop the cube right into whatever medium you decide on. I myself use promix bx for my mothers and soil plants due to the amount of peat and its moisture retention. Just make sure with smart pots and stakes to put them in yhe middle otherwise they wont work well for support.

awesome ok cool yeah i forgot about the Pro-Mix stuff we talked about previously...thanks chronosync as well for being cool about my constant step by step questions...gotta finish this damn cabinet then get to the setup:tiphat:

I think 3 gallons is way too big. Coco isn't that different then what your already doing with cubes. Its just loose like dirt and happens to be brown and stringy.

How big is the root mass? Find a container you can fit it into and still be able to fill under and around it some. Mostly under, you really shouldn't need a wider than normal container if you go coco, the plant will do what it wants. A small container let's you feed often and they grow quick. You'd be able to veg one out in a little pot 3 or 4 times and clone the heck out of all the while.

lights are off now...ill get a picture up of the root mass here in a few when they come on

Ahh pro mix, I was going to try it but I decided to stick with coco. I'm glad I did because some of the problem threads about it sound like a nightmare.

Where im at i paid 16$ for 4 squares canna coco which is enough for 4 5 gallon smartpots. Promix is 32 for 3.8 cf. Pricewise theyre about the same, i just prefer it because when i buy it i dont have to go to the local hydroponic store to get it. I hate going into that place , its a risk every time...

Ahh I see. That makes sense then if they are about the same deal in the end. Why may I ask is that risky, I suppose I can guess, I don't like those places because of, well, its like the public rest stop for pests. I'd rather not run into anyone I know either.

So far the yield doesnt look too bad, lots of smaller dense nugs. And ya this is the led tray. Temps were around 72. Very sticky and loud. Even had some very purple tops..

Will keep an eye on the GG4, got GG4 on the go myself and good to see my bud development seems on par with yours as I'm also on day 20 today.

Have you grown it before?

Nice plants ;)

The promix plants i ran like 3 or 4 as a test run and got about 2 z per plant. The led tray was around a p of outstanding quality buds, check a few pages back for pics of that. The led was just a test to see if it would match up to a 1k but it didnt. It looks like my 600 tray is stacking way better than the led one did.
