Strange bed fellows, I agree. We won't be together in 2012. You know 19 still allows them to pack the prisons since all the felonies on the books will remain if it passes. It even adds some.

It doesn't add any felonies, and it will make many people legal. It will also give illegal growers and dealers a chance to become legitimate.

In my eyes alot of you seem to not want ANY legalization.

What is proposed in 2012? I keep hearing you all chant "just wait two more years".... For what??? Where is this magical elusive bill you all speak of? Who's fronting the cost? What is the language of it?

I would be more likely to see your side if I could find ANYTHING about it ... But none of you can provide any evidence.

So were just supposed to take your word for it and hope that we didn't pass up our only chance at marijuana legalization?

That may be fine for you who'd rather keep things as they are, but I'm too progressive to be sold on wishes and dreams....

Those voting no are either Drug Cartels or Law Enforcement. Those are the ONLY people who are negatively effected by this bill, everyone else stands to gain new freedoms...

Says it all right there....

Those most involved in the drug war want it to continue. That's sad. I would have hoped humans would be smarter by now....

IMO, people voting no are doing so because of fantasies they imagine in their heads about "how it will be". Delusional, if you ask me.... and it's quite obvious your arguments don't hold up to rational discussion.

All the people I know that wanted to keep it illegal around here are douchebags growing grade-B shit, moved here from CA cause they couldn't swing their shitty weed there. And they don't give a shit they grow crappy weed because they are making their money.

to be fair, those of us voting yes are pretty much guessing at this point also...there are no guarantees where it will all end up. i think the unknown is exciting...we just gotta take that step. the only guarantee prop 19 offers is change...and thats a good enough start for me

we know it will allow us to grow in our own homes....

this is interesting line to follow...

what can we say for certain? positive and negative....

1 positive is it makes a minimum 25'² an unalienable right for every Californian.

1 negative is the 25'² is a bit small.

Yeah, nobody is going to grow long flowering sativas that don't yield.

BUT, I can produce WELL over 1 lb/ month given a 5x5 (and assuming I'm not running a seperate veg in my 5x5) with many strains.

One of those new 1500 watters might be perfect....

I'm happy to see that more Californians then not are going to vote no (according to this poll). Its what I thought would happen. A lot of the people supporting prop 19 dont even live in the state.

Truthfully, California isn't ready for all this tax revenue. They dont even know how to spend their current revenue. Reguardless, I hope this poll is a representation of what we'll see in November. Hopefully we vote it off the ballot..

With that said, I'm native born California, I haven't done a commercial grow in several years and dont plan on it; but if I did, I would look forward to legalization at any degree (almost) because that means $$$$$$$.

And I'll be damned if anyone should attempt to claim how much of any plant I can grow in my house.

Yeah I'm sure a growers forum will be an accurate representation...

Fortunatly for every 1 grower there is 1,000 smokers.

The fact that out of 34 million people less than 200 CA residents voted on this poll should clue you in to how obscure icmag really is....

All polls indicate 19 passing by at least 10%

It's 2010, let the re-legalization begin!!!!!!

A yes vote will cause this nation to confront the failed war on drugs. This goes beyond just making our loved plant legal, this is needed to wake this fucking country up.

Cali started medical MJ, now 14 states have it, the wall is crumbling because of what goes on there.

This passes, and I will dance in the street, because the nation will follow.

In the spirit of vigorous debate.

Why is total freedom for the people with cannabis wrong?

Isn't limiting commercial production the right way to deal with cannabis?

.

I welcome comment.

freedom isnt wrong governments are and cannabis should be treated like a regular plant, like a tomato plant able to flourish and grow like god put it here to do,there wouldnt be a ruckus over it if it was treated like a normal plant.

The bill was written by med dispensary owners. All the ones I talk to are for it as they will already have a retail outlet. The hydro industry is for it. The potting soil industry is for it. I am not part of either so what are these commercial interest you speak of? Why are you for 19?

I'm for 19 because it's what's on the table now. Things can change a lot in two years. Do you really think that if they can't pass 19 they'll write up a more liberal piece of legislation and hope they can pass that when 19 has failed? It's a gift horse - don't look it in the mouth. I'm 46 my friend.... I never thought I'd see legalisation after years of a roller coaster of busts and demonisation. I'll take whatever they offer if the words legalisation come into play. What this means is then we as smokers and growers have a legitimate voice for political lobby.

The bill is wriiten for Med dispensary owners my arse. Most dispensaries I know of are against this bill. Med is still in place - this is what everyone seems to be missing. Prop 19 takes it to the next level and spreads the love. As for the hydro industry supporting it and all others that doesn't surprise me although as mj prices plummet I wonder just how easy it will be to sell overpriced liquid fertilizers to growers.

More importantly, on a global level the collapse of mj prohibition in Cali is undoubtedly the beginning of the end. So prop 19 all the way!!

Seriously? Last time I checked, California was scrambling for every penny they could get because they were so broke... But then again I'm not from California, am I...

but seriously THIS poll shows a majority of cali residents voting YES right now!!!

this is the same lying tactics they try in order to try to convince people prohibition is ok...

16.70% CA resident- Yes

18.24% Ca resident- No

8.35% CA resident- Yes, but would rather be voting on a better bill

16.7 + 8.35 = 25.02%

25.02% yes> 18.24% no

dont believe a single word that drops from a prohibitionists lips.. we have all known this forever.. we just choose to ignore it because we cant believe WHO the prohibitionists are..

but they are the same..

they will lie about poll numbers
they will lie about the language of the prop
they will concoct bullshit about landlords
they will do whatever it takes to continue the status quo!!!!!
do not be fooled because they have been your friends for years undercover pigs do this too!!!

so your voting yes?

they are telling you NONE now..

25>0
No, they are telling me, and any other 18+ year old that you can grow an unlimited amount of plants. Do you even live in California? You would know this if you did.

umm the poll shows the ayes have it...
Didn't notice those on the fence about it, realizing how crappy the bill is but are pressured to vote yes. Other then that, solid No's are winning the poll against solid yes.

A yes vote will cause this nation to confront the failed war on drugs. This goes beyond just making our loved plant legal, this is needed to wake this fucking country up.

First of all, (this is really to any out of stater) if you are expecting California to pave the way, let us do it right, and dont get on our backs to make it legal your way. We have had major victories, we just had another at the start of this year, let us take it in stride. Californian's can grow an unlimited amount of cannabis in their home now for personal use. UNLIMITED I think that is enough cannabis to hold us off until we get the right bill in place.

Seriously? Last time I checked, California was scrambling for every penny they could get because they were so broke... But then again I'm not from California, am I...
Why do you think they were scrambling? BECAUSE THEY DONT KNOW HOW TO SPEND MONEY. Would you give an alcoholic more booze to get over his drinking problem? NO. California does not konw how to spend money. They make up new ways to come up with money every year, but they just increase spending, and cut schools/firemen/police.

but seriously THIS poll shows a majority of cali residents voting YES right now!!!

Ok fine so some dont want to but they are cracking under pressure.. I'm still happy to see that there are more solid no's then yes's.
And dont attack people who dont support 19. Saying they lie, because not all of them dont. Do you realize that those who support 19 and are against 19 are essentially very similar? We are all human beings, and human beings are not perfect. Would you be surprised to hear that supports of 19 lie too? And say incorrect things? So just keep that out of the argument because it serves no purpose. Just focus on proving them wrong with facts, not statements about their character. Just unnecessarily derails the thread.

I can't believe anyone has the nerve to attempt to tell me how big my garden can be in my house. Who the hell do you think you are? Lol..

Some people will grab at the ground for crumbs I guess. Well I'm not that kind of guy.
No one is suffering in California, so I'm not in any rush to get "legalization" (if thats what you want to call it) from prop 19.

I'll vote yes once they decide not to regulate our home gardens, they drop the outrageous prison terms against nonviolent cannabis users, and make it a direct vote of the people as to whether or not sales will be permitted in their county. I would also appreciate better language on the preservation of medical cultivation laws.

The fact that you can't smoke outside, on your driveway, in your backyard, or even in your house if anyone under the legal age is present, SUCKS. But what are you going to do, not every bill can be perfect. There are some things I'd be willing to accept, just not everything.
