so you want me to vote for Prop 19, in hopes california will makes things better for me down the road with another bill? fat chance, government never makes things better, only worse.

Im not voting in hopes of anything. The way I read prop 19, its a 1 ounce limit, which is pure bullshit. Not going to dismiss that because "state of california" might take care of it.

I completely understand your concern. Do me a favor, take another read at it. You will see that under prop 19, tou can have unlimited amounts at home. Only limited to 1oz while traveling. Not great, but not bad either. If you have a partner (wife/husband), you can carry two oz.

it says you can have an unlimited amount in your house

show me where it says that. Although I haven't read the bill for a few months, so its possible they might have changed it, when I did read it, I didn't see anything about unlimited weed on your property.

back up your claim please.

im still on the fence whether or not im voting yay or nay. so im open to both sides. I just think its a farce to be "ok" with the bill in hopes california will somehow make it better later on. thats wishful thinking.

No problem. Here it is, directly from Prop 19:

(iii) Possess on the premises where grown the living and harvested plants and results of any harvest and processing of plants lawfully cultivated pursuant to section 11300(a)(ii), for personal consumption.

Judge orders CHP to return 60 pounds of marijuana

It had been confiscated from a motorist whose attorney convinced a judge that California's medical marijuana law allowed its transport.
January 09, 2010|By Gerrick Kennedy
With the debate on medical marijuana still at a full boil in Los Angeles, a judge Friday ordered the return of 60 pounds of pot to a man after his attorneys successfully argued that a state law gave him the right to transport it.

Saguro Doven, 33, was initially charged with possession of marijuana for sale and transportation of the drug, a violation of the state's health and safety code.

The marijuana was bundled in individual bags that were tucked inside a larger duffel bag when Doven was pulled over on the 101 Freeway by a California Highway Patrol officer, according to court records.

But defense attorney Glen T. Jonas argued that his client was a member of a Venice-based medical marijuana collective and that he was authorized to transport the marijuana. The California attorney general's guidelines regarding medical marijuana indicate that collectives are allowed to both grow and transport quantities of marijuana for its members.

Jonas said the prosecution's expert witness, CHP Sgt. Richard Fuentes, was unqualified to render an expert opinion in the case because he lacked the knowledge required to distinguish lawful from unlawful possession and transportation of marijuana, according to court records.

Fuentes had testified that only caregivers can transport or carry large quantities of marijuana. The law, however, states that members of a collective may transport marijuana on behalf of the group and are exempt from prosecution.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge William Sterling agreed that the prosecution expert was unqualified and ordered the charge of possession for sale dismissed.

On Monday, the Los Angeles County district attorney's office asked that the remaining transportation count be dismissed.

Doven's attorney then asked for the 60 pounds of marijuana to be returned -- a request that was granted. Doven could have faced a maximum of four years in state prison if found guilty.

"Although justice was delayed, I am thankful it wasn't denied," Doven said.

No problem. Here it is, directly from Prop 19:

I dont know how you extrapolated "unlimited" personal amount from that text.

"(i) Personally possess, process, share, or transport not more than one ounce of cannabis, solely for that individual’s personal consumption, and not for sale."

personally possess... not more than one ounce. If im reading that correctly, you can't personally posses more then one ounce. Or thats how it will definitely try to be spun.

No prob--

Possess on the premises where grown the living and harvested plants and results of any harvest and processing of plants lawfully cultivated pursuant to section 11300(a)(ii), for personal consumption.

That means that yeah, if they show up 30 days after the Prop passes...you may not have an argument for 20 pounds...but after a year...then you can say that you have grown it, so it is yours--

Keep in mind, this is the only thing there is, for 2 more years...at least--
I do not find 1 thing the No Camp is saying..that make me want to not support this Prop--

It says from ANY harvest. DEA says 1 plant = 1lb. Maybe I get 6 harvests a year and get 100 lbs every harvest?? And maybe it's been a few years since 19 passed. 600lbs a year over a few years. I think any competant lawyer could get you out of any possesion charges should they arise.

It also makes all trim legal and all hash legal.

Right now solevant hash carries same charge as manufacturing meth or crack. I love bho and co2 hash and it is needed to be legal.

It also makes all paraphanelia legal. Which means bongs, blunts, pipes, vapes, or anything associated with the processing or extracting of hash is legal and no longer subject to probable cause or confiscation.

exactly. Everyone should read it. i highly recommend it. Don't be swayed by the yes or no. Read it yourself and make your own decision. The truth is, no real activist, would ever not want to make pot legal! in any shape or form, considering people have been going to prison for joints since 1930's.
