I am so sad that people are just so violently opposed to any criticism of the bill, JUST BECAUSE THEY WANT IT TO PASS.

If they could get past the fact that what I am saying isn't sacrilege, but concern, then I could get past the fact that what they are accusing me of is unfounded.

At least for me, when the No's (Or sometimes Maybe's) start going off on something that "might" happen...I feel compelled to come back with something to prove it wrong...but what I'm really trying to do, is simply answer questions that are directly connected to Prop 19...not "what-if's"--
If it doesn't pass, then it is all for nothing anyways-- So I don't like to see some who come by, who may not be very familiar with the Prop...to be influenced by stuff being said out of paranoia--
I feel that if we can get ppl to vote for it, there will be plenty of time for musing about it, when we see what it's impact is going to be...how LEO is going to handle things--
Facts--
It will be legal to have 1 oz anywhere--
It will be legal to have all proceeds from your legal garden, at your house...unlimited--
It will be legal to grow a limited size garden--
Concentrates will be the same as bud--
Commercial Sales and Cultivation will be Regulated, but Legal--
Prop 19 will not effect Prop 215--

Everything else is just a matter of negotiating size, where, what, and how--
Bottom line, it doesn't hurt anybody...I don't understand being against it, simply because it isn't enough--

this wont effect 215 at all. nothing in this bill changes 215 at all


Matter of fact, in this bill, it specifically says, IT DOES NOT EFFECT Prop 215 The Compassionate Act

I'm not real clear on your concerns. A non cryptic bullet point(s) answer would be great.

The only legitimate concern I see(from growers) would be a potential loss of income. Now if I were to give the concerns of prohibitionists, then I could come up with more.

If someone were to say that 19 doesn't do enough...I would tell them to come back when they grow a brain. 19 isn't about a cannabis free for all. That is a fantasy. It's been almost 40 years since a legalization prop was on the ballot. Jack has been trying to get his on the ballot for years and years. To say wait for it or something else is a stance that is backed by either ulterior motives or stupidity.

19 gives us the framework...the foundation to build off of. The majority of voters DO NOT smoke cannabis. If they are presented a prop that helps keep it away from children by regulation, reap hundreds of millions of dollars in taxes and remove marijuana from the criminal complex....they might vote for it. If Jack's can't get the support to even make the ballot...how would it ever pass in a general election?

The State is preparing for this and they are ready to give us more. They are also setting fees and guidelines, to prevent local regulations from over taxing. 19 is designed to only advance. Nothing can be taken away and everything can be increased.

It would be foolish to vote no. And deserving of an ass whoopin

What if's, hmmmm. What if 19 fails. No big deal, it's only a $100 fine with no jail...ok, I go buy an eight for $60. On the way home, the police pull me over (didn't use turn signal, didn't come to complete stop at sign, crossed median, whatever excuse they make up).

Walks up to the car and claims he smells pot. I figure it's no problem, I'll just get a citation. After finding the eighth and writing me up, he sends me on my way without my weed...wait a minute, that's not fair. I already paid $60 for it plus another $100 in fines - $160 and I have nothing to show for it... Oh, wait. I have a medical rec - doesn't matter. If I want my weed back I'm probably going to have to pay an attorney to file the paperwork to get it back - more money.

I find myself thinking, if 19 had passed, I probably would've drove away with nothing more than a traffic citation at most. I'd be kicked back relaxing right now instead of wondering whether I should take a chance and try to pick up more weed.

You'll have to show me where prop 19 proposes these high taxes before I could answer. Then after seeing these figures, I'd have to know whether you're talking about amounts in dollars and cents or as a percentage of the total cost. For example, if you paid $2.50 in taxes on a $7.50 pack of cigarettes and $10 in taxes on a $100 oz; you would be paying more real money on pot, but less as a percentage of the total price - now, that $2.50 doesn't sound like much, but buy $100 worth of cigarettes and you'll begin to see that dollar amounts aren't the only thing to think about.

No, it does not do that either. Prop 19 doesn't allow for anything commercial, it only authorizes local or state governments to setup a commercial system, along with the obvious taxes and fees.

prop 215, and sb420 are exempt from prop 19 period.

They are already taxing in some counties like Santa Cruz.

So im not sure. Mendocino county has a 25 dollar a plant tax.

But my medication should not be taxed.
