High Fashion

Les Lalanne are a French artist duo who happen to be a husband and wife team. The Husband, François-Xavier, likes to sculpt animals while the wife Claude Lalanne has a passion for the plant.

In 1970, Claude would sculpt a beautiful piece of jewelry in bronze of a single leaf from nature. Making this jewelry high fashion, the leaf just happened to be cannabis...

The title for her beautiful piece of high fashion, 'Collier Cannabis'.

I'm still searching for that fountain of youth, one 'fountain' at a time:biggrin:

"Water Pipe, Common Among Smokers In Their Homeland, Described By Visitors From Turkey; Turkish visitors describe smoker's pipe for Mrs. Tinkler (right) and her daughter, during a visit at the Tinkler home. Several of the girls said they enjoy shopping in U.S. stores and restaurants most in visit.; Denver department stores are the greatest. American meals the smallest and rodeos the wildest.; These are some of the opinions expressed by several young women from Turkey who are visiting the United States under the Experiment in International Living program" Denver, Colorado August 21, 1963

D.C Police 1986

The Oregano Scam

In 1981 D.C. hit a all time high, 86 overdoses on heroin. To combat the growing opium problem in the city, police launched a all out offensive on the cities drug market.

In less than 30 days, the D.C police made mayhem of the city making more than 600 drug arrests. The new anything goes task force had a green light to disrupt the drug trade around D.C.

One of the cops ideas to disrupt marijuana sales had no intentions of arresting people at all. 'Operation Oregano' aimed to sell fake shitty weed to unsuspecting customers on the most popular area for sales in town. Their idea was to give the area a 'bad name' for fake weed driving the customers away...

In September 1981, undercover police took over the area around 15th and Chapin Streets NW, and sold sacks of Oregano to unsuspecting customers. Hoping to give Chapin street a bad name, the cops set up shop selling the fake weed for days selling hundreds of fake oregano sacks, making no arrests...

"It discourages people from coming to the area... We have some pretty ingenious officers who come up with stuff. I support them as long as what they do is not illegal."
- D.C. Police Chief Maurice T. Turner, 1981 on 'operation oregano'

History repeats itself in 2010, when D.C. police again used oregano in one of their scams. Busting a weed delivery service called 'Mindy's Muffins' they decided to take their business by taking over their phone number. Answering the ringing phones they set up weed deliveries again using their special oregano sacks...

In their scheming undercovers were able to arrest 20 people trying to buy the cops special oregano. Only problem for the cops is that oregano isn't illegal, all 20 cases were dropped by the Prosecutors!

Jean-Leon Gerome 1882

Being a animal lover, this is one of my favorite paintings by Gerome. Used this painting in post #414 in this thread, getting harder for me to keep track of what I've posted the longer the thread go's or the older I get, dealers choice.

I've been meaning to go back and edit that post because of the Parke Davis cannabis dog study in a more recent post is a little more accurate of a dosage. They put dog dosage on a 1 gram per cup mixture at .o1mg per kilogram.

Thanks for sharing Green Squall

'The Smokers of Hashish' by Norman Berrow, 1934

"When young Bill Hamilton decides to spend some time in exotic Tangier, he tells his mother he’s mainly looking for romance and adventure. But when he gets there, he finds much more than he bargained for. The first day he meets an old acquaintance, Charles Edgerton, aka “Chiller”, and before he knows it they’re off to the hashish dens in search of underworld spies and drug smugglers, dodging the local police at every turn. Then he meets a beautiful woman at the casino but she’s kidnapped right before his eyes. He’s having the time of his life and he hasn’t even toked up yet! But he will — oh yes he will!"
