I'm not sure where you're from but I never saw seedless cannabis domestic or import before maybe 78 and I was living in DFW and west palm beach FLA. Even high end Mexican back then was fairly seeded, the "mersh" Mexican ($10 a lid) was like 60% seed. Thai stick and Hawaiian were seedless but I only saw them a few times. Never saw Panama, Jamaican or Colombian sinsemilla, all had at least a few seeds.
The first seedless, uncompressed, fluffy, airy, green bud I saw was in the early 70s from Jamaica. I didn't know bud came in only green color. Haha It was also the first weed I ever heard of called ganja, pronounced ganj... I couldn't hear the a at the end. A pound was enough to fill a third of a 30 gallon plastic garbage bag. It didn't even look like pot to me, but boy oh boy was it strong, trippy, energetic rocket fuel. A couple other guys and myself couldn't finish a joint. We didn't know!!! It was as good as Thai Stick. We never attempted to roll a Thai Stick joint. Had to run home and hide in my parent's garage until I could get a grip. Oh lord, I was scared! Hahahaha

I think it's obvious that sinsemilla is the best for flower smoking and possibly on a small scale. I will always keep a "private garden" for myself but for hashish and or oil only, I'm thinking of controlled pollination. The seeds are another product and still get plenty of hash from 500,000 plants. First things first and that is tomorrow we have our final inspection at the finca to get the licencing. Then I'm going to grow 6 test varieties, 3 non psychoactive and 3 psychoactive, 100 plants each and go from there. Quality is all I care about and plan to stay that way.

Yeah controlled pollination is the way to go because you need to be selective with your males. You want to know what pollinates what. I can imagine a couple scenarios where doing it the old-fashioned landrace way, not culling the males, could work. If you were doing a seed crop, if you had a market for bird seed, hemp oil, or whatever. Removing the resin should also remove most of the seed.

The problem is that in the modern world there's so many restrictions. For instance my 'legal' state probably wouldn't allow you to sell seedy cannabis. They'd want you to destroy it to stop the spread of cannabis cultivation! They wouldn't allow you to utilize the fiber because it's from drug cannabis, you have to burn it. The days of using all useful parts of the plant are over, everything has to be specialized.

Finca

Finca

Good points gentlemen, all will be taken into consideration.
Cruised out to the finca this morning only to find out the ica appointment was postponed cause my partner felt we needed more work completed. So I guess we got another week. Anyway I think everything at the finca is going great.

I don't mind waiting another week, I've got medical things to do next week anyway. I found out that what I thought was another bladder ultra sound is actually a CT scan requiring and injection of DYE in the vain. I couldn't believe it, more needles but got to do it. Getting closer everyday at the finca and I'm ready to get started.

That dye stuff made me feel sick after said:
I'm defiantly not looking forward to the CT scan, I don't like needles to begin with but getting injected with something that "might" make me sick is another thing. I wouldn't do it regardless of what the doctor says but my wife is demanding I do so I will. When we were at the testing facility last week I saw a young man very ill and he had vomited (I'm assuming) on the scanner. And it just seemed to be very tense there with the "technicians" running around and construction going on in the lobby. But I really need to make sure the cancer is gone so fuck it I'll do it but have a joint of Malawi ready for afterwards and a shitload of CBD before.
Anyway was nice to see the finca yesterday and progress being made.

I feel I found a good micro climate there as it's right in between the cold higher altitude and the warmer tropical lower altitude. Not only that we are in like a draw between two high peaks that soar over 10,000ft at night the warm air from the valley come right up the draw keeping the night temps higher than the surrounding peaks. Should be interesting.

Here is the Mangobiche X Bangi Haze #4 that's got a really nice cure now and I'm starting to like it more. It's strong but nothing like the Malawi I grew with it. The MBH #4 has developed a really nice smell and indescribable taste that to me is Colombian. The hit is up and extremely happy, with a moderate duration and a clean refreshing finish. I like it in the morning, it just isn't the same for me at the end of the day. I will be growing more of this one and her offspring (MBH X Malawi MBH X 07 Santa Marta Gold MBH X Haze and MBH F-2).

Looking good you are a lucky man. The flower has that open foxtail type structure I like, very similar to the Bangi Haze I grew last summer. It had a great tropical fruit flavor and high similar to the one you describe.

I've had health issues, all sorts of medical personnel poking at me over the years. Including the dye injection. I felt fine afterwards, no effects from the dye. I've learned that the best way to get through these procedures is to go into a trance-like, meditative state. Relax and zone out. I've almost gotten too good at it, have to watch myself or I start falling asleep at the dentist or at the doctor. The setting makes it easier, the rooms they use usually aren't as bright as the waiting rooms and there's usually machines making rhythmic humming sounds.

You don't want to go into these sorts of things in a panicky, upset state of mind. I'll reschedule, even on the day of the appointment, if I feel that way. I don't want to waste people's time but it's not worth having your life disrupted by this stuff. Having a panic attack while getting a biopsy or a CAT scan would be a horrible experience. Once it's over I like having a good feeling, like getting a ton of weight off me. As opposed to going home feeling traumatized and sick. Getting older, this sort of stuff is inevitable, but I'm jealous of the old people I remember, who didn't have to deal with all the undignified crap. Well, eventually, if you live long enough, no matter how or where you live, it gets undignified..

Beautiful ! RedRyder, that bud looks very close structurally to the old school buds with its low density sativa structure. When I go back down I’m bringing some Lebanese Sativa seeds to try out. As you know atlantico province had a large amount of Lebanese and Turks seeing that the old gold of the 70s had the exact taste of Lebanese Blonde Hash I am beginning to see a connection. I believe that the gold bud genetics arrived with the immigrants. I have been going to Colombia since 1978.
I truly hope you are doing well and all the texts provide good news.

Going for the CT scan this morning. Calm and cool (massive amounts of CBD) and ready for it.
I was thinking about something I read (maybe not here) that the only reason cannabis makes you paranoid is because it's illegal. Not that way with me, it's very legal here and I won't smoke anything but CBD before any kind of medical treatment involving needles because I get super paranoid. Even the nice friendly hash fruit will set me off right before a surgery appointment. However the CBD I grow kills my anxiety (not as good as a Valium but still very helpful) really the only time I use pure CBD.

That land is beautiful. Unreal. I had a property semi similar to this in northern california before, not high enough to have cold weather, not low enough to be too humid, just perfect, lots of sun year round.

Best of wishes to your health and future endeavors!

Well all I got to say about the CT scan and the contrast is, hope I don't have to do it again.

Here is the Mangobiche X BH #4 I like a lot, now that it's cured a few months I like it better.

I pollinated this plant with a male from Santa Marta that I really liked (as well as a few others).

Took around 26 weeks to grow this plant in Bogota, no supplemental light.

While we are waiting

While we are waiting

While i'm waiting on the finca license, I keep myself busy working in my personal (legal) garden here in Bogota. Although it's a very nice house it has a tiny back yard that's also the laundry area. I have some lights set up inside for clones/mothers but some plants never see them. Most imported seed grown here has to have supplemental light or the instantly flower, those plants need at least a month of extra light to yield anything (I think we all know that). But some tropical varieties I just leave them in the gardens natural conditions. Last year I threw a few ACE Malawi seed in soil and let them alone. All sprouted and I got two females and four males from the six seeds. The Malawi grew right along with my mangobice x bangi haze expect the Malawi grew much bigger faster. In about 26 weeks they were almost finish but one Malawi #6 got so big I couldn't move it.

attachment.php

I let it grow as long as I could before harvesting a huge yield of the stickiest flowers I've seen for awhile. The other Malawi female was just as big but not as tall and I let her go a couple weeks longer.

attachment.php

Now the flowers are well cured and I've got to say Malawi (this Malawi) is my current all time favorite plant. I can't remember a plant this strong but more importantly the quality of her strength. I love it, hit comes on quick and takes charge like an electric current of euphoria. The only other plant I remember being this strong was a Destroyer cut but I didn't like it as much. Of the two females I like #6 more and grew out a clone that was smaller than the mother and faster as well as being more intense. I've read that the Malawi strong but dirty on the come down but I don't get that from them. In fact even after smoking her since last November I still have little tolerance to her and although long lasting clean re entry. I really enjoy the Colombians but I have to mention this incredible tropical sativa from ACE.

Ironic with you loving the Colombians and going there to live and grow them, and then an African from ACE steals your heart. hehe I was put off by the 'dirty high' comments about that strain, but have some Golden Tiger seeds which have some in it so.....

Being open to trying new stuff is a good idea.

Got to be honest I grow just about everything I can, just I have treat them a little different. I like ace and cbg because they have plants that are easy to grow here (and most are the most excellent quality). As far as the Malawi I was impressed not only with the hit but how they plants grew. They out performed every other plant I've grown at this location and with minimal care. To me and I have no idea how it would effect you, but for me it's a very good, long lasting high. I can smoke it in the morning first thing and it's a productive high, then smoke it at night and it's a relaxing high. You should try your GT, I think you'll like it, the Malawi is a real old school tropical plant that's tough. And the clone took about 4 months to finish (the mother 26 wk from seed) and to me better quality than the mother. I hope to grow this plant at the finca.
