Wish they would put you on salary right now as a consultant.
That would take all the pressure off of you for them to get their act together.
Seems like the cost of your salary would be a good sign of commitment to the project.

New finca looks promising.
Fingers crossed for you back here brother!

Man I certainly appreciate all the positive vibes.
Reminds me of a story, a couple years ago we had grown out a couple really loud mextiza cuts and I had them drying in a little room with a big closet. One evening we had some folks from one of the local cannabis events over to the house and among them were two young ladies. One was this super nice (sexy as hell) Mexican reporter and her friend a full figured beauty from Peru. I engaged them in conversation (both of them speak English) and we end up in the room with the fresh cut mextiza. And they were not smoking mextiza but as soon as these girls got in that room they became "friendlier", you know laughing too much at my jokes and consent contact with their hands. I could of course smell the green weed but it wasn't making me feel different like them. I was rolling with it and kept talking with them, thinking (hoping) at one point they were going to strip down and jump in the shower together. However nothing happened but I witnessed first hand the effect terpins can have. Looking back it was one of those would have, could have, should have situations.

See what happens tomorrow, I feel positive.

I'm carrying a fresh mextiza branch in my hat from now on

Ha ha ha very good man. If I did that I'd get busted. But it is powerful stuff when concentrated in a small room like that.

Still haven't heard from the lady about the finca (everything really slows down around the holidays here) but I'm going this morning to help the other partner with a few plants he has at his house here in Bogota. So off to the north again for me and another 6 7 hours of endless talking about cannabis, but now I'm getting some payment. And I like getting out and doing something early that can be finished early, the guy thinks it's a major production to transplant a few little plants. I saw pictures and he needs to transplant and even more so less water, plants are drenched. The weathers nice to work outside maybe take some pictures but I don't think his plants are much to see.

Oh I went to my little neighborhood garden/nursery supply store (now also selling Christmas hams and turkey) to buy some soil. And they had a beautiful pistil plant in mid flower sitting there by the perennials. With long thin leaves long inter nodes and light purple pistils, maybe two feet tall and busy. Smelt blue like blueberry candy kind of and loud. 25,000 COP, I almost bought it but I got no place to finish it. So I left it but the lady told me she sells cannabis plants every week just not for smoking, ornamental. I think their smoking it but I did get a fantastic turkey sandwich there.

Hi

Hi

hybrid #16 looks to be the real thing. find a keeper and you have gone back in time
Hi, are you talking to me? If you are what hybrid #16 ha ha ha.

Well no finca yet, however I got big house in the north of town to grow 19 plants till they get a license and a finca. I stayed in the house all day today organizing it for the plants. The family that owns the house got broke into (home invasion) and they bought another house afterwords cause they all had mental trauma for the robbery. So anyway it's a huge 4 story house with a little garden but a nice sun room I can use. They picked up 20 Mangobiche (not CBG) from the national university for me to flower, I told them it takes awhile to Flower the Mangobiche but we are going to focus on native varieties. They want to jump right in so I mixed some soil and transplanted the meter high seedlings. The house is semi furnished and I hope to only live there a month till we get the still unknown finca. But I spoke with the rich ladies husband today, really nice guy. In fact was the first time I met him and he spoke perfect English and super nice, telling me to make myself at home in the house. He said he was narrowing in on the correct finca but I can tell he doesn't "like" cannabis. After he left I spent another hour talking with his wife and the young guy. They at the moment are only interested in extracts for topical and cosmetics, even soap. All natural all Colombian ingredients, it sounds pretty interesting (maybe to somebody else). However they are applying for a R and D license so I can grow out sift through some native strains and see what we really got. Again lots and lots of talking but I got a little cash and a big house and finally plants in the ground (Soil bags). Things change so quick I never consider celebrating but I'm feeling confident at the moment. I get some pictures of the plants soon but my location must be kept secret cause the owner of the house is paranoid even though we are legal (I like this guy already).

Mangobiche

Mangobiche

Made a little progress this week (inch by inch) got some suspected Mangobiche plants from the National University here in Bogota. They are about 6 weeks old I guess and neglected, I'll try to get some life back in them and see what they'er about (cuts taken).

attachment.php

Mangobiche

At the same time think we are narrowing in on a finca, about an hour away from Bogota and 700 meters lower. I like it, the temperature is perfect and it's almost dry but this is December and the best weather of the year. This land is on a bigger farm where they raise bull fighting bulls and I noticed large mounds of excessive bullshit (mushrooms?). Seems nice but who knows, the rich lady boss loves this land and wants to set up the cannabis operation here.
Jose, the old dude that kinda runs the bull farm didn't seem thrilled about growing cannabis when I asked him about where he thought would be the best place to start.

So now I'm going to stay a day or two a the big empty house with the plants (19) before spending Christmas with the wife and kids on the other side of the city. I'm enjoying the quite of this house and hoping that we get the new finca soon.

Hillsides and gentle slopes are great for orchards and cannabis because of air drainage, especially in the evening and at night. No stagnant air is a good thing. Grass sure looks thick and green.

Looks very fertile and less extreme than some of the hillside locations you've posted.

Looks good

Looks good

Not getting excited about anything yet as I've been through this a few time now. Everything looks good to go but who knows (there's not even a structure there yet) the rich lady could have another friend somewhere with yet another finca to consider.

I love the smell of the air there, like my co worker said "you can smell the terpins in the trees". But it's fresh and airy, however like I say it is the dry season so to be expected.

attachment.php

It seemed very quite and peaceful while i was there, the old guy (older than me) Jose that kinda runs the bull farm was calm and friendly. But who knows, I told everybody I like this place, let's try it here with the cannabis. I bet the Mangobiche would like it there.

Happy holidays!

Happy holidays!

I'm loving this thread <3

Best of luck and happy holidays Red!

Cheers

Thank you! Happy happy holidays.
Weather is beautiful here and we are making progress. I'm staying at a house in the north of Bogota working on a legal grow of 19 plants for my new "investors". Really nice folks and now we have a better understanding and working relationship. I've been working on these plants for a couple months now while waiting to secure a finca and license to cultivate in earnest.

attachment.php

So we got one finca an hour west of Bogota and this will be where they want the first license. I'm still up in the air about them actually getting the licensing but they are positive and everything has been submitted to the government for approval.

attachment.php

At the same time they want me to help with a couple other cannabis projects their involved with at the moment. One in Santa Marta and another of all places in the Amazon. It's a nice offer but really I'm interested in one thing at a time.

attachment.php

Next weekend I'm thinking about "camping" a few nights at the finca just to get a feel for the place (and because I just want to go camping, something they don't do here). The owner of this huge farm (we are only renting a small corner of it) is very interested in cannabis and wants to talk more to me about. He's a bull farmer/rancher.
But for today its just hang out with the Mangobiche (and a few kush plants). I can't say if the next year will be good or bad but I can say it will be different.

Thank you so much my friend and a happy happy new year to you! I won't say more about that finca until I actually have something to sink my teeth in but looks good so far. I press forward regardless and focus on the plants I'm flowering now. Focus on now, Happy 2019!

Sometimes when I read your thread, I can actually smell the bags of weed from 1980.
That last pic of the Panama is wafting up through my snout now.
Long forgotten smells, brought back from the past with your stories and pictures.
Indescribable, but as clear as they were way back then.

Thanks Red.

Best wishes and high hopes for a epic 2019!

Thank you so much Raho and everyone else that reads my misadventures. I am so happy to know that there are those who remember a cannabis culture much different than it is now. And I have moved even closer to my idea of an old school Colombian tourist finca high in mountains for my friends to visit to not only smoke but relive those days. I have new friends very interested in this idea and works have been put in motion. However I don't get overly excited or dead set on any particular facet and try to remain fluid and flexible. Spent half the night chopping it up with the young Colombian chemistry teacher from the Colombian national university. I now work with this guy on my current project here at the rich ladies house and on our future project at the Zipacon finca close to Bogota. Camilo is his name (one of them) and he's 31 years old single living at home with his parents, which is common here. Anyway his family kinda poor working class and he prides himself on pushing himself up through the ranks of society with his remarkable work at the university. He's a really smart guy and can prove it, his specialty plant secondary metabolism. Almost gives me a headache just thinking about, but this guy has no clue about cannabis. That's why he's interested in working with me cause he thinks I'm some kind of expert. I only know a lot about cannabis cause I like it, not like I'm be the best at anything, just like growing it better. Anyway me and this guy chatted most of the night (I go to bed around 7PM) and despite being sleepy I learned a lot from him. Some of our conversation was way above my understanding but some how I got it. This guy is going to be very useful.

Yet another finca just for looks, no plans to grow there.

But again I'm trying to focus on the here and now while strategically planning for the future in a realistic way. I've got six beautiful Mangobiche plants in pre flower from the National university, where they got the seeds or why I don't know. But they are starting to flower along with some kush plants Camilo wanted to grow out. So now I'am setting up a drying area in the house but I don't want to grow another cycle here in this location. I want to be at finca, and I want it to be just a little warmer. Anyway today I asked everybody to leave me alone with the plants and Camilo and the rich lady said it was cool so I'm recollecting positive energy today and focusing on now.

January

Now that we are mostly through the holidays things should pick up. Had a good talk with Grace the rich lady and she has bought the land for our finca near Zipacon bout an hour and a half from Bogota. But it's just land and has to have all these government requirements for the green house, out buildings and of course security. So we are miles away from getting operational there. However I met the owner of the bull ranch and he has a few spots for legal non licensed grows of 19 or less. I will be going there this week to check them out. Everything is roiling along fine now it seems. My focus at the moment is finishing up these plants which Grace started last year before I met them. Nice Mangobiche and tasty Kush plants.

attachment.php

The sun was super intense yesterday

Everybody so excited (the investors) about these little plants just starting to flower. I don't say anything, just waiting for my day at the finca.
