just a couple of notes to self (i read my threads back sometimes because my memory is quite poor! )

bark mulch seems to have reduced watering but increased fungus gnat population.

addition of extra ferts seems to have successfully made the plants yellow later (of course this is also probably influenced by light and yield

wow i just read through all this as i have all of your posted led grows and you are the man.. i have a ufo 90 for veg and am moving to a 24x26 cab and you just gave me another spark of hope for acheiving a decent yeild from it... the lights i am getting for the cab are 2 led lamps each 240w and 7 band with the UV added side by side over a 4 plant scrog in hempy sealed with co2... cant wait to see if i can straggle behind your footsteps... seeds being ordered this weekend and i will post a log and drop u a link... maybe you would find time to throw a suggestion toward a young lad's improvement?...cant wait to see final results... great grow as always o mighty LED Master!!!

yosun, the fans... if you have an inline fan cooling your grow then the noise from the fans on these LED's will pale into significance, but if you are opting for a 'silent' stealth grow then you will be able to hear them. i think the 84X pro unit only has one fan and hgl have bought out some low wattage lights with no fans. atm they have 0.5w LEDS but i think they are trying to bring out a version using 1w emitters and no fans which would be awesome. i have a thread using the 0.5w eco unit in grow diaries - i have far too many threads atm lol

LokiLoki - thanks for checking it out!

mellow yellow - hey mate thanks for stopping by!

harvest time - good luck and be sure to drop me a link to check out your thread.

---

the mmg came down yesterday, looks decent.

i think i need around 8 oz total yield from the cab for this light to match up to my 250 hps yields. we will see.

Mulching is a good idea, I think, maybe you could do live mulches, once the mj get to a stage like they are now, the mulch will die back (or you could cut em back if you prefer)..

I've never really been bothered by fungus gnats (except when they walk across my computer screen at night), they prefer fungus and other dead stuff to your roots and in an organic mix, neither are in short supply.

Following along here has me upgrading my plans, and going w/ a 126X Pro as well. My finger's on the trigger...
Brilliant results it seems, great work & coverage for us all to enjoy! :good:

Best wishes, HL

I would rethink how much of a problem fungus gnats are. They are taken very seriously in commercial horticultural operations. The larvae are the most damaging stage of the pest as they feed on the roots, allowing your roots to be infected with root pathogens that they usually have along for the ride.

Now its not to say you still can't grow some beautiful healthy plants with some fungus gnats in your garden, but they can spread out of control very quickly if not taken seriously. And having buds full of gnats is not a pretty thing.

hey ixnay, i would agree mulching is a good idea in general, but i think in an indoor grow with no worms in the soil it's benefits are more limited and have to be weighed up against the drawbacks.
living mulch, i love the organic fanatics but i personally think that living mulch in an indoor grow is more about striving for best organic practice/box ticking than actually providing any material benefit. in my grow virtually no light penetrates the canopy so i dont think it would work and i also think it provides a habitat for potential pests (as well as beneficials i guess). i know mad l said he left gaps in his canopy to allow the living mulch to thrive and imo that is kind of putting the cart before the horse... but its good that people are trying these things.

dave :tiphat:- i agree with you about the gnats.. i dont worry about seeing one or two but my bark much seemed to be teeming with them at times. by far the best way to control them that ive found is letting the top layer of soil dry out properly between watering and mulch does stop this happening.

we are now 9.5 weeks in and the mmg has been harvested a couple days ago. 3 plants left

C4D looks sweet....bet she's got quite a punch too.....I've been very happy with the various "Chem & diesel" combos I've grown.

hey blimey nice to see you around! - yeah she tends to go quite golden towards the end which makes for nice smooth smoke!.

i processed the seeds from the mmg (which were mmg x sharksbreath) and there were about 20 which is enough to feel i have some backup for the genetics. there should be better numbers of seeds in the other crosses i made... and for those interested in the project to make decent numbers of the Bubba S1's... the link is in my sig for my low wattage cab where the first batch of those is hopefully being made.

hey all, im looking forward to harvesting and getting some shots of the last 3 plants tomorrow.

the mmg dry weight was 46 grams, which is over 1gpw but falls slightly short of what i would usually harvest with my 250 hps (187w against 304w that my hps uses is a bit of an unfair contest but i was aiming to get a harvest similar in total weight to the 250)
i think that the necessity of keeping the height of the canopy so short may well have cost me some yield...and of course making seeds costs a bit of bud too

but hopefully it will even out over the 4 plants.. we will see. the mmg was ripe pretty quickly too.
anyway the quality is superb - much better that last time i ran it inder hps when i was a little disapointed.

Can't wait to see the pics. Can you describe with a little more detail about the differences in quality/smoke between the LED and hps bud? I'm probably be going to be adding some to my pll lights my next run. (also when did u stop using that uv bulb?)
