VaporTek Optimum 4000

I got the V3 and SSSDH waiting too. Before starting them I need to solve the odor problem and this definately looks like the best solution in my situation. My current grow is making me paranoid already with the smell. The diesels must be even worse.

The Sensi Seed Bank has the unit for 275 euros with one filter cartridge included. Extra filter cartridges are 81.5 euros.

For those of you in Europe, I wanted to let you in on my research results for the Vaportek 4000 unit.

To date the best deal I found is through the UK420 Store which is selling the unit for GBP £199 which is equal to €291,11. Refill cartidges are selling for GBP £55.99 which is equal to €81,91.

I am still searching for a deal through a US or Canadian shop which ships worldwide. So far no luck. The cheapest I've found is through Alternative Garden Supply and is going for US$168.95 including shipping (depends on the zone you're in) for the unit and US$48.95 for the cartridges. Unfortunately they don't ship out of the US

If I find anything else I'll keep y'all.....posted :D

Hi ya Blue! I think that DWW is right on about buying from Vaportek directly and I do believe that they ship internationally as well but I could be wrong. I just tried to call them to see if they did but their customer support is only there until 4pm my time. I will find out tomorrow if they will ship to Europe and post what I find out here.

I use the Vaportek 2600 which is the little wall mounted unit that uses the scented discs inside it. I mounted this on the wall right outside my flower closet and have used 2 to 3 discs in it (it holds up to five discs). And you can't smell a thing outside of the closet. However, I will say that I am VERY surprised that the odor of my plants (Reeferman's Blue Thunder and Rez's Apollo Mist) have hardly any odor at all even with the door open. Until you actually touch them there is no real detectable odor from them. My vegging plants stink WAY more than my flowering plants. I guess I just expected more odors eminating from the closet and I haven't had any at all. Guess I've just been lucky with these strains.

Oh, by the way, I read that someone said that the 4000 covers 2000 cu. ft. of space. If you read the description on Vaportek's website, it actually will cover odors in up to 20,000 cu. ft. So, this thing will end up being overkill for most grow setups but that's why the thing works so well. Anyway, I will post what I find out from them tomorrow.

I contacted Vaporetk twice, the first time to find a distributor in my area. There is a distributor in my area only they are practicing balckmail prices. €460 odd euros for the damn thing. So I wrote them again informing them that their distributor here applies black market prices which I refuse to pay...and asking for tech specs and if the unit can be used with a current adaptor. The bastards still haven't answered me, and I doubt they will. If it weren't that the alternatives are all below par I'd tell them to go to hell. Unfortunately I'm caught between a rock and a hard place.

Don't hold your breath that they'll ship to Europe, Rellik. They want the extra income from the export stock and will end up telling you to go through the European distributors. I'm beginning to become unnerved by the runaround I'm getting.

Then your fiends will make it happen, fear not,Blue

PM me when you're at The End,and we'll get it figured out.
Profiteering motherf*ckers....well,there are ways around THAT.

ONA does work well, but you need to order it far too often,as it doesn't last very long.
(ONA bricks (pucks) are good for in-line,exhaust venting, other than that I'd stick w the VTek,imHo-)

LMAO :biglaugh:

Thanks for the laugh Rez, you are as usual right on time with that comment....I'm not too good at keeping frustration pent up as you can see, but I'm bearing with it for the moment. I still have some time and The End (guess you've been there many times youself too ) is still remote enough. I want to try to swing this myself if possible, my friends need to dedicate themselves to what they do best without wasting time with things like this....but thanks and I will keep my friends in mind  I sent an email to Lighthouse hydroponics (link in the first post on this thread) this morning and hopefully will receive some kind of answer.

:friends: hugs Rez, you're wonderful :D

wow, i just got finished reading a thread about someoen on this board that was using a vaportek and got busted after his bio bizz res started stinking like dead bodies... the question now is, if he was using a carbon scrubber would this have happened?

G

read closer zor....from what I understand he'd ordered the unit and it hadn't yet arrived...he was using carbon scrubbers in the meantime. In any case whatever the reason his assumption is that it was because of odor... but its only an assumption. Any number of things can put you in the nude crude eye of the law.

Life's too short to fuck around with minutiae,(small details) and it's the bane of my existence.
The best bet is to use Google to find a VTek distributor,I just posted one or two that popped up in a search, and can't attest to any particular dealer being useful (or worthless) so pick and choose carefully, not all web-stores are created equal.
I buy my units and replacement carts locally,a friend gets them for me from a distributor,so my involvement is minimal.
On carbon scrubbers:
They work,and work well.
However, they are LOUD as hell, and the more air you need to filter, the bigger and louder your fan gets....and no,it doesn't matter what kind of money you drop on the
centrifugal fan, even the most expensive (and 'quietest') scream like jet planes.
We used to run a downtube off of the exhaust, and from 6">4" using a reducer.
This quieted the scrubber about 70% over unsilenced, but it decreased the efficiencey of the unit by approximately 25%.
The VTek's are,essentially,SILENT.
You can run them in-room,with no ill effects to the plants,or the buds.

****NOTE:DON'T USE Ozium and timeMisters,it's FATAL to plants on contact!!!!!!!*****

Also,to clarify:
Billygoat was waiting on a VTek when he got popped.

That's All,Folks!

Zor,
That's horrific overkill, don't spend the $ on all that shit at once, the scrubber exhausting into the basement will be just fine,a scrubber that's rated for your m2 space will easily (noisily) kill all the odours.
Don't bother with o3,if you MUST double-up,a scrubber and a VTek will be JUST fine.
I run STINKEY shit, and 1-2 VTek's kill ALL the odor, and we're talking Sour Diesels and Skunks,no small feat....
Use an ONA brick in your exhaust into your basement (about $7.00USD) and you won't even need a VTek.

Just my .02

OK, I do believe I've found the best deal of all on these Vaportek 4000 units.

They are pricing the unit at US$147 without the cartridge. Cartirdges cost $49.95 for the 90 day refill and $57.95 for the 120 day refill. The store is called The Growstore, four locations in the Colorado area....

Anyone ever odered from them please? I'd like to know because to arrange the purchase of the Vaportek and overseas shipment I have to call Colorado from Europe, and it irks me to call if they're not reliable.

Thanks for the help!

i was thinking of using a v-tek in the grow room (32sqf) and a carbon scrubber on the exhaust.... but if they are truely that loud i would like to avoid it if at all possible. I'm planning on running AK47 which is pretty stinky. Any Advice? maybe just throw an ONA big block in the exhaust or would i even need that. I dont know how good these vteks are.

i'm surprised so many of us have waited this long to address odor control issues. it is the easiest way to get busted, next to telling others what you are doing...

buy one.
get an extra cartridge.
plug it in.
done.

i guess i have worn out my welcome, or i am on everyone's "ignore list"...

this thing works.
buy one.

i ran mine lastnight in the front room cause we had some guys comming to do work and i dont have anything growin but my house smells like straight blunts of nice nice. it also has two ferrets and a fully messy bachlor pad kitchen, ran it over night, with bedroom doors closed, i walked into my bathroom (in my bedroom, and not attached to the front room, i think it spread thru the vents) this morning and i could smell it(the vaportek), smelled it in my bedroom(and no ferret smell and they are in there with me) and then out front same thing, it realy works and works well, not a lick of smoke smell, ferret, nothing. just a light lemon'ish chemical scent.

so how does this neutralize odors?

the filters do it via carbon, but the description of this reminds me of ONA and it seems like it would just mask the smell,

im not talking shit, actually i'd just like to hear more.....

G

it's dry vapor technology....
and it IS a neutraliser,not a 'mask'....
So.... if you kill your girlfriend, say, and she starts to smell,a few days of the VTek4000
will leave your basement just as fresh as before you cut her into pieces and tossed her in the river :D

Izzat clear? :biglaugh:
