Vaporizing recommendations?

it needs a power supply that can deliver more current.

the Bud Toaster does 60°F to 380°F in 20 seconds by pulling 12 amps from the A123Systems cells. An AC power supply delivering 12 amps is big and expensive.
Power supplies and transformers that convert dc to ac aren't cheap unless you're using those small wall warts. I wonder how RC batteries would do? Sanyo RC Nicads used to be very popular with RC hobbyists (model electric cars, boats and planes) and took a beating and could CRANK out the amps or power needed. You could charge them also w/a 12v dc cigarette lighter adapter (portable).

PS: Those lithium A123Systems cells look like they'll fit the bill. Funny I saw those after I made this post. Guess we're thinking alike. Well those Nicads may be cheaper and do take a beating. The lithium ions would definitely be in a smaller and lighter package.

nothing can beat the A123 LiFePO4 current output - 70A steady, 120A surge - and high current charging for recharge in 15 minutes. Plus many more charge/discharge cycles compared to all other rechargables. and they don't explode or burn up.

But, alas, A123 just went bankrupt.

wall warts peak out at about 3amps

I'd like the answer to that as well.It may depend on what style you like, bag or whip.If you like the bag type, then the Extreme Q is "highly" regarded. If you like the whip type..well..I'm not really sure there.I think the Silver Surfer is a little over $200 (?).

How about the Da Buddah? Anybody else wanna ring in?I see the Extreme Q go for as low as $150 or so,and the Da Buddah goes for around $130...both on Ebay.I am tempted to try the Da Buddah myself.

Airizer Solo. It rocks and you can get one for about 169. Portable, rechargeable battery operated. 7 temp settings. Well built.. If mine got stolen or lost today, I'd order another one before the day's out..

I have used Da Buddha for 2 yrs now and it has been great, especially after using some cheaper gear . . .
has never failed to satisfy . . . .

EQ > DBV or SSV
digital readout > dial w/ no numbers
whip/bag/attachments/ > whip or attachments
3 speed fan > none
can pick it up anytime, housing doesn't get hot > needs an oven mitt (SSV anyway)
all parts are replaceable > ??
comes with an extra everything (screens, bags, glass elbows, glass bowl, glass mouthpieces) > ??
auto shut-off option > none
remote control > none
EQ > DBV or SSV

as for the warm up time with the EQ .... i get it out, plug in, and turn it on with the fan on high. Get up, get out my herb, grind it up and put fresh water into my tube. Sit back down, elbow pack the ground up herb, turn the fan off, wait a few secs for the herb to warm up in the elbow and it's ready to pull tubes.

:yeahthats

First I had an Extreme Q. Definitely worked. After a while, though, it felt cumbersome to use. Had to be plugged in. Wait for it to warm up. Wait for the bag to fill. Repeat.. (I never could seem to get the hang of nice big rips using the whip) :dunno:

I bought a Solo about 6 months ago, and right away, it became my daily driver. (Using it right now, with my morning coffee!)

Heats up quickly, rechargeable battery, stealthy, inconspicuous to travel with..

Well it's looking like based on the reports of folks who are using the EQ (gotta look that up) it seems it's a better product than these other 7th Floor vapes Dave and I have been looking at for evening sessions.

Gah! My brain! It's boggled! But then here comes PistilPete with a slightly different comparison, making it graphic for people like me.

I can't tell you how helpful your carots are! Seriously. Now I have to remember WTF EQ stands for.

I prefer a whip to the bag pretty much any day of the week. I don't want to have to fuck around with an oven mitt, either, that's... that's just stupid. A remote control for a vaporizer, really? Automatic shut-off hadn't even entered my mind, another plus. Oh, a FAN? I am the Queen of Fans, I love them! More pluses!

EQ = ExtremeQ

herborizer was my dream vape a few years ago, and there is the vriptech heat wand that seemed to get better reviews. now there is the life saber and vapexhale cloud to consider also. probably cant go too wrong with any of them

Herbalaire for me x 2yrs. Quick warmup <3m, easy read, bags or whip. I like it because it pretty small and can be hidden easily, if needed. If you want more info, let me know.

Oh yeah, EQ = Arizer Extreme Q.
Haha, yeah I thought a remote was an unnecessary addition too. However you can perform any function with one button press as opposed to going through a bunch of menu selections on the unit itself.
Glad my little carats helped you. I researched and tested out a few models before I decided on the EQ.

The Vriptech Vaporization Heat Wand 3.0 Pro is supherb if you don't break it and take care of it some. Use w/bong or glass of your choice. Otherwise I like the Life Saber vape from 7th Floor too.

I heard the Arizer Solo is a bit hard to hit, otherwise many people really like that one too.

I dont use the big units anymore. I use the vap pen. These need oil to work. You cant use bud that the only con.

I would like to know what the industry standard is on vaporizers, I have always smoked but since moving my asthma is kicking in bad, it was recommended i start vaporizing but there is so much out there, I can't spend the coin on a volcano and I have been looking at the Vapir products, also heard some good stuff about the silver surfer, any advice would be welcomed.

Thanks:tiphat:

thanks for posting this been looking for a good one also

Which whip style vape? V Tower or Da Buddah? I don't have a need for bags,so that issue is unimportant.

Arizer V Tower is less expensive than Da Buddah, but is there any other reasons that one would be better than the other?
