Well, I would say I actually try not to go much over 90. I have 4 thermometers in my room. 1 reads about 82-84, which above the aisle between the rows of lights, another between 2 lights but out of direct light, which generally reads about 5 degrees higher, then another at the outside of a table sitting on the table so it is more reading the temps under the foliage, then another with a probe which sits directly under the center of one of the lights, which reads a little over 90, like 92 or so, but it is getting direct light, so is an innacurate reading as far as ambient temperature goes. The average at canopy level is something like 88 or so, up to 90 directly under the lights, and 85 at the edges of light footprint
Perfectly healthy plants will grow 90-95, but if they are the slightest bit stressed this will just make them stress out more. Running lower temps reduces the stress, but also does not make full use of the CO2.
Here's The premier/preview of my new grow show, my first set of pics. Light was on, but I did the best I could. As you can see, the prob I was having is way gone.
ahh 20kw dreams mate, that's a hell of a nice setup. do you know the trimming session you will have comeing, lol? i hope you keep sharing your plants progress. looking great so far.
You know, it's like the herb takes just enough time to finish, for all your calluses from the last crop to go away. I like using regular little scissors too, not that candy coated bonsaii pruners or anything.
20kw isn't a reality....yet....but you'll know it is when I do change my handle.
"not the candy coated bonsai pruners," lol. a sharp pair of sissors, that are in good smooth working condition are essential for a good and fast trim.
i always keep a jar with olive oil on the trimming table and a rag, the oily rag helps keep the sissors in good shape. after scraping the jarass off, give it a wipe with the rag and the sissor will run like new again. the oil is also the only way to disolve the resin off your hands at the end of the trim session.
yeah caligrown, cooking oil is the secret, lol. oil up where the resin touched you, hands and lower arms with me. rub the oil around a bit on your skin and then start to rinse it off using soap. in bad cases you have to repeat the process twice, but then you can go out in clean clothes without attracting attention.
lol...I actually wear gloves when I trim now, and keep 99% rubbing alchohol around to keep an extra pair of scissors in. I just switch pairs every 15 minutes or so, and they never get gummed up. The oil works too, but I feel like my scissors work better when they are cleaned up with alchohol instead of oil. Besides that, you can evap it afterwords for some real nice Hash
Hey so, whoever had that rough coco: What's up with that shit? Looked nice. Have you ever tried regular coco for something to compare against? I think coco needs a little perlite to lighten it up, but I hate perlite, cause it gets alover he place. Hydroton is just crap as far as I'm concerned, as it sucks to step on barefoot, which you inevadably will when you use hydroton and walk aorund barefoot.
And although I', sure this has been asked multiple times, which kind of EC do you guys run throughout your grows? It seems liie I"m running really low, but I also have alot of small plants under 16" and use innoculants and surfacents.
I love Botanicare, but Boss blocks SUCK. I unwrapped a few blocks tonight from the bag. There was a large red clay sandy clump in each one that I had to carve out with a butter knife.
I am going with the clumpy Sunleaves coco from now on.
Just wondering if anyone has had experience with these
CoCo Tek Basket Liners
CocoTek products have become an instant hit! They are 100% organic and environmentally friendly (product will break down in 3 years), yet very durable because fibers are woven not shredded like compressed coco bricks.
Looks like they could solve people problems of coco flakes getting back into the res.
