yeah post what they say, but i know it's not a problem as i have asked a canna rep about that growth years ago. it's just a sign of how fertile the coco coir is as a medium.

I remember someone doing a test grow between Home and Garden coco nutes and Canna coco nutes and I am wondering if they ever finished up. Does anyone else have any input on the two?? I also know that some are running the normal GH3 part in coco and I am trying to find out if they use modified feeding schedules.
Any input would be appreciated. Right now I am using GH coco with the GH florolicias grow/bloom, LQ, SuperThrive, CalMag, Molasses and a bass nute called Bloom/Grow Juice. The bass nutes are very hot even in soil and I want to switch out to another nute regiment that consist of a mix that is more suitable for coco feeding applications.
Adieu
PS. Any thoughts on the Advanced Monkey Juice??

PSS. I vote for a coco forum as well.

hessi also makes coco specific nutrients, which i have heard people say are even better then canna coco a+b, as well as being a bit cheaper. in the end, i'm sure most coco specific nutes will do a good job as long as you use them according to ec/ppm and not acording to their recomendations which are only sutible for the real nute hungry strains out there.

Hey all you coco growers!

A quick question for anyone who knows.

Can you start seedlings in coco??

Yes !

There's 20 (cant see them all) seedlings here started a few days ago. ( my own lil concoction i call "Sushi".....SSH X L.U.I )
Some are in coco/perlite.........some pure coco,,,,,some in rockwool ( in coco).

All 20 were germ'd in wet paper towel method.

6 were only germinated until the seed popped and 1 milimeter of tap root was showing. I then just placed those 6 on the surface on the coco,,,,sprayed them with a light nute mix and left them to plant themselves. I dunno if it was in this thread or somewhere else i read you could just put the seed on the surface of the coco and let it germ there,,,, but it surprised the hell out of me when they finished germinating and self rooted.....lol

What's the difference between regular drippers and pressure compensating ones?
I'm using the regular ones, just curious about the pressure compensating ones.

Hi All fellow Coco Nutz!

Happy new year!

Just wanted to drop by and share my experience with coco-coir... (As always I'm at IC without having my digicam, so the pictorials will have to wait.)

I just finished 4 slabs on drip-to-waste and 5 pots of aerated coir hand fed (both using complete Canna nutrient system). Results were not all great, but that was due to the fact that my clones weren't perfect and strains not suited. Anyhow, it seem to be the easier way of growing top-notch cannaseur buds. So if medium disposal and blending is a problem and space is an issue, I would def. go with slabs again.
...and as a matter of fact I'm just about starting 16 fast and fruity-phenotype Jack Herers in the slabs just these days...

-What really amazed me though is the fact that Canna Coco Coir grows excellent organic buds too, if it's ammended and aerated.

Medium:
70% coco coir
15% peatbased potting soil with kitinin from shellfish/crustacions
15%perlite/hydroton/leca/lava rocks or clay pebbles

Each 10litre was ammended with 1cup Pre-Mix (granite dust, greensand, b/b-meals, etc...), 3 cups EWC,1/2cup of Kelp meal, and 1/2 cup of bird sand (fine sand with lots of potash) I also added some dolomite lime to the mix...

(These measures are rough, but the main ingredients are there in proper ammounts.)

I grew 2 test plants in this mix, and the were both fed Bio Bizz nutrients and also a little molasses-based nutrient from leftovers after the local paper-industry. (This nute is fortified with microorganizms and seem to be a very powerful grow formula)

What I did is mainly treating the medium as a soil grow. I kept the application of N and Mg a little higher than usual soil treatment and went easy on the flowering formulas. Both plants grew very nice and showed no sigs of stress. I was worried that I had been giving too much N in the early bloom phase, but it turned out to be perfect as the plant yellowed out 2 days before chop.

I'll be testing Bio-Bizz rage with pure unaltered coco...

PS! White residue and hairs on the coco was more present if it had been inoculated with mycohorizal fungi, and thoroughly colonized by beneficial trichoderma strains.
Advanced Nutrients informes about this residue appearance when using their microherds.

pc drippers

pc drippers

oh, I've just been through this info.

Pressure compensating drippers are designed to deliver a steady drip rate through a range of pressures. For example I have some rain drip button drippers that will deliver 1/2 gph from 7psi to 50 psi.

If your drippers are not pc, the higher the pressure, the higher the rate.

Most houses are supposed to be 30-60 psi.

Most hydroponic pumps don't even deliver 1psi. It takes something like a diaphragm pump to generate pressure. Centrifigal pumps don't generate much pressure if there's any flow restriction.

If your drippers are driven by a hydro pump, you're probably not getting the flow rate on the rating.

hey bc. i haven't been on this thread in a while but i just wanted to say i am so impressed since changing over to the coco. its only been maybe 8 weeks but the growth has been amazing. haven't been able to taste anything yet but i'm sure it will be primo.nl#5xhaze and chronic maybe 2 more weeks 3 maybe on the nlx. i can't wait to try this stuff outdoors this summer. are the last two decent outdoor strains? i really want to go big with the nlx i love that smell. i live in the south and its hot and humid. :joint:
