Hey fellow ICers and welcome to my thred so step back and take a look at whats growing now... :muahaha:

Well to start off I am using a FFOF potting soil with no additives, but I am thinking of adding some perllite or something to lighten the soil. Any tips or ideas would be helpful.

As for fertilizers I have to systems that I have at my disposal. :chin:. The first is,

and the second is,

I haven't used this brand so I don't know how well it works but I have been told it works wonders.
Now what you all have been waiting for the plants.. :canabis:
week 1

week 3 and yes it looked as if it was having some nute lock up :fsu:

And finally this morning right before watering...

Thanks for stopping by! Mr.P

Just a qick couple of Q's? When trying to make a plant more bushie what is the best way to do so? First is LST when should you start to do that? Can you LST with only a single cola? what about Croping? how tall should you let them get before you do this? and help would be nice and very appreciated

I add about 40% pearlite to Ocean Forest - and 2 tbsp of Dolomite lime. And I start in MUCH smaller containers - like 10 Oz. styro coffee cups. For me, small plants in big pots is disaster awaiting.

Keep the nutes out till things get healthy

What's your pH?

6.2 or so is golden

Nute lock up? are you high?

I'd diagnose "Over Loved, or nearly loved to death syndrome" probably burned from the soil and over/under watered. for 3 weeks,,,, not exactly ready to explode with new growth.

lst

LST???

lots of time before that is an issue, and you have more important problems.
You need to keep them alive and healthy first, then the rest is easy.

thank you for commenting and yes I knew i had a problem but remeber this is bag seed and I dont kno how old the seeds are. also I have had substantial new groth since week 3 and the nute lock up/ over/underwatering as you can see in the pic im about to post. you will be able to see the pruple stem when the plants where shocked.. I know I dont need to lst or crop them now I was just wondering about when is a good time and what is better to do thats all
I also did not start them in those pots i started them in 8oz plastic cups and trasnplanted into those at 3wks and started very light ferts like the hydro shop told me to do. I belive that i am geting them back under control..

but here is a great side view of them enjoy

Keep 'em gettin' tall. I always get excited about a bagseed grow, I've actually managed to find a seed or two in fat sacks of kind bud, plus without the middle-men that kief herb and pass it on, it'll get even kinder. :rasta:

Some don't like to top as it does stunt the plant for a day or two, but I think it has results that make it well worth it. It was GMT's Lazy Growing Thread that convinced me. Check this out http://www.icmag.com/ic/showpost.php?p=601681&postcount=32
By GMT's example, you are past due to top them. Check the thread and do it! You'll be glad you did, if you want squat bushy plants, IMO.

As for what to add to the FF soil, check the Moonshine Mix thread http://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=23970 for several versions of FF mixes. Lots of folks using it with good results, myself included.

Mrpiston38,

Hey, I just started some unknown bag seed right around the time you did, and I have have pics at comepareble times as well. I found with unknown strains its best to not use any nutes for the first 3-4 weeks, or wait at least till you have 4-5 nodes of branching. Your plants look pretty shocked. Also, as to you having root lock, did you see the roots when you transplanted, I'm not an expert but your plants are small it seems their roots wouldnt be that large. Good luck to your grow man!

From what i can tell just from the pics, you need a bigger light, or at least move it closer, what ya using? MH or Floro or what?

Let me know if it's ok to post my 1-2 pic of my bagseed thats about ur time to show ya. Cool to compare!

KIller grow man

pics and any help appreciated. as for the light i am using a 400w mh w/out a hood :fsu: but trying to get one. i am kinda seeing that now as far as not adding nutes till a month or so. but yea post pics and anything else useful when i transplanted they had a pretty nice root ball already. i can get seed to pop in less then 24hr and have them in bigger pots in 2 weeks and them they slow way down for a month or so. it may be that i am to rough when transplanting who knows tho. ty for the post

mrp, let the yellowed leaves curl up and fall off, the plant drains extra energy from them even though they look dead ;)

And other than that, lets hope ur in for a winner first run, good luck there ;)
