:woohoo:
very exciting...will be ordering my sleeping bag and ground pad this weekend, the last and probably most important piece of camping gear aside from the tent i suppose...its possible i may regret going the whorishly comfortable route...but i doubt it:bigeye:

if i was trying to back pack the thing i would, but pulling a trailer is way different than hiking, honestly hiking sucks in comparison,a its slow,b every single step your foot hits the ground, and that just starts to hurt after a while...i might be contemplating 100 mile days on the bike....but you're sitting down, how hard can it really be?

well im excited anyway, can hardly wait to grind it out over the pass and then hang on for the white knuckle decent down the other side...it basically 15 miles of climbing up and over a 5800 foot pass followed by 12 miles of downhill and then a short steep section of mountain road to the park....perfect really,37 miles, shouldnt take but 4 hours, nice park, good campground, spent many many nights there already...do that a few times and get good at dragging a trailer up that pass and theres really not much else that going to be much worse, the rest of its just pedaling, easy enough...only the climbing is the sucky part...

Wow your tire are at 120 psi? My hopper is pumped to forty five. Man, so that's why I get passed by every bike on the trail. I've been tryin to keep active and do bike rides, a forty to sixty mile once a week. Only takes about four hours on the nice bike trails around here. No hills really, so I can hold my speed constant any way,

That mountain sounds like quite the challenge. But now that you have new shoes there are no excuses:tongue:

Is it possible the widespread panic about root aphids is actually a misidentification of fungus gnats? Any one?

JW- Whats the connection to the small jars of met52. I would defininetly get some to be safe for that price. I didnt look hard. At first glance i thought a $600 25 lb bag was the smallest i could get.

Hey doc P- I smoked some Cali light dep Blackberry x OG the other day. Straight fire. did i mention it was grown outside?

i tried some straight blackberry too. It was super covered in trichs, prolly coulda past for indoor. But wasnt my favorite. Slight blackberry taste, but it also had a kind of bonfire taste that is gross to me. and the high was, meh at best. Not even close to the Blackberry OG.

thats the road bike the mountain bike tires i run at 60 psi on the road...
fungus gnats dont generally kill plants, more of a nuisance than anything..

What bag r u getting, I've got a marmot, and thee old lade has a carabee, both nice, compact and light,
getting an big agnes park something, anyway its one of those mummy bags cut wide at the knees and shoulders so its not so confining and has a sleeve for a ground pad rather than any insulation, the pad itself provides protection from the ground and you cant roll off the pad in the middle of the night...its like 7 pounds for the whole thing plus the same for the tent so call it 15 lbs between tent and bag, another 15 for water, cooking stuff and food and clothes probably another 15 to 20 lbs..i should be able to stay under 60 lbs total, not too bad,ive hauled that much weight plenty of times...

I'm curious as well. I've heard pappy say he has seen no fliers but I have not heard him say he saw them in the soil.

Pappy?

So you can go 120 on a road bike but no way on a mountain bike.

On a side note, anyone been to Burning Man? A few desert dwellers here so thought I'd ask.

Sounds interesting...

I got my Gitane in 1970. It has "Sew-ups".

Regular "Sew-ups ran at about 95psi if I remember right.

I bought "Silks". Those were " Sew-ups with silk threads instead of synthetic. Silks ran at 110 PSI. Thats how I ran Mine. It was a bumpy ride, but You could haul ass

The Gitane was hand made with Chrome moly steel if I remember right. It had a little hand decal on it. Not as light as todays super road bikes, but it has heart, and does get up and go.

It's like driving an old vette. Look at the shift on the frame... LOL :D

I love Bicycles, and motorcycles. And Vans and Trucks, and vintage cars, and muscle cars

the road bike tires are made of kevlar and cost quite a bit but the high psi low volume combo means the bike contact patch is the size of two postage stamps so you can rip along with minimal effort...

i love my steel bike but it sure was nice to get on the rocket propelled feather...i laid down a nice sprint to catch a light and went from 12 mph to 27 mph in the space of 10 pedal strokes...that was fun until the road surface got rough and i remembered..oh yeah, road bike, seat like a leather plank...and the cold smacky reality of an aerodynamic racing saddle suddenly and painfully contacting the scrotal region at high velocity became clear to me...and i had also forgotten the whole tiny rocks can end your ride thing....had the bike skip out from under me a couple times...it was fun though, road bikes are just different,,once i got into the correct position and posture on the saddle and got my stroke back i got back into it and started tearing it up,it sure does accelerate like a sports car...

These are the most pungent buds in the outdoor grow this year, They have this super wild, super strong twangy tart/sweet fruit odor. Its most pleasant. I get it on my arms and sniff it all day. Its really nice. Historicly, this is a very strong resin plant, and will cook your noodle in seconds. I can hardly wait to roll a fatty in some rice papers of this plant
picture.php

I expect it will begin to purple quickly as the weather cools. It does not taste anything like a regular purple though.

This prediction was correct. These buds are now purpling up more each night. There are some dark purple highlights now. Spiral leaf is going purple first. I have a few days off now. Ill snap some pics tomorrow

The Felt and the Cannondale are aluminum, but no where as light as the Bianchi. Its kind of too light. Im serious. It pops wheelys, if i accelerate to hard. It lifts off the ground without clowning around. My other bikes dont.

Sleeping bags. - got several. Including my old pristine condition Backpacking Grey Goose Down, Gerry Mummy Bag from about 1970. I prefer cotton.... LOL

You know, I was being kind of thotless here. For the Guys that dont know about "Sew-ups". They were the premier tyre in the day. Everything else was about 35-40 lbs pressure back then. The tire was super light. Especially if it was made out of real silk. It was sewn shut, with the tube sewn inside the tyre. Then You glued the tyre onto the very light, shallow slendor rim. I used a product called Tubasti to glue my Tyres on the rims.

lol,um yeah, easy to keep gear in good condition when it just hangs in tha garage!
im really hard on gear,my current day pack is frankenstein stitched together and crusted white with sweat salt..things like tents just end up so uv blasted they start failing from being used so much, sleeping bags and ground pads ive worn out a dozen..i still have my first candle lantern mostly since i have replaced the mantle twice...yah gotta use it!!

and they have made some huge leaps in gear since the 70's...
doc you should see if the have a gentlemens vintage riding club or any vintage events, everyone gets dressed up in tweeds or gentlemans country wear type stuff and they ride around and get hammered basically...

My Gary Fischer weighs I believe 26.5 pounds. Over-sized Easton aluminum. Not gonna find more than a handful of bikes lighter if any, at least bikes available in 91.

Never got to try the Burkle(pre 98 bubba x Urkle) when it first hit. I can see why it was very popular. She has the Bubba structure

the road bike is 18.6 lbs i think, its all aluminum and carbon fiber, pretty light for how cheap it was...i was looking at full suspension mountain bikes, pretty pricey for one thing, the surly was 1500 but i would be looking at 2 grand easy...pretty amazing how far the tech has come...im going to need to step it up if im going to justify it...better be out there doing a 25-30 mile ride every day before i should be buying yet another new bike....no matter how much i want one....with the glue all things are possible...

Possibilities...

Filed papers of incorporation today. CPA tells me he has several folks claiming 250 a year... A few ICMaggers I'm sure...35% taxed but damn. Deductions will help though.

funny thing to consider eh? im thinking of the same sort of thing, not quite at that tax bracket though, something a bit more modest...as longs as they feel like they are getting their cut im inclined to think no one will care...

I'm all good paying in, just let me be and contribute to the economy. I'll still bitch about the 2.5 I got to trim without much help...
