Uncle fishsticks,
After reading through your thread getting a better understanding about your style of growing. I noticed that you didn't discuss your drying or curing process.
You also chose the same genetics twice in this thread without mentioning any phenotypic expressions that you like.
What is special about those strains to you? You mentioned twice that you prefer multiple plants over one plant and quantity. That one plant grows are boring.
What is a maximum yield of one plant in your environment? I see you average a half a pound roughly per cycle, over 12 plants.
What's the allure of hydroponic growing? I ask this with all sincerity. Is it the constant babysitting of timers and ph balances? Being very interactive through the process?
I see you're very earth friendly with cycling. Yet your choice of growing is very technology driven and chemical oriented.
Without incredible phenotypic expressions of colors and smells.
Why wouldn't a person such as yourself be a great promoter of organic soil cultivation? A completely renewable and sustainable growing environment. I thank you for your time and reply.
I hope you and your family are all safe during this pandemic. I have always been curious about how each grower chooses their growing environment. After reading this thread, I'm honestly more curious than ever.
Peace brother, farmerlion
that's a lot of questions!
let's see...
the run in the 4x4 tent is split between known varieties and the second run of seed plants,i always try and run seed plants twice before making a judgement on them...and in this case i had plants ready to flower but no place to put them so it's more of a throw together grow...
normally i like to run 9 plants in a 4x4 area and i would expect between 2-4 oz per plant...but of course expectation and reality are often different...
technically it's hydroponics, but not really...i use veganic nutes mostly in promix hp...i don't even own a pH meter...pH indicator test drops are accurate enough for what i'm doing...aside from the led lighting there's nothing tech about my garden, aside from timers there's zero automation...
personally i don't feel organic mediums are very environmentally sound the way most people go about it.you're importing stuff from all over the world to grow some pot.plus it's a giant pain in the ass to source all that stuff here not to mention having to haul 30 different items home with a bike....been there, done that, got tired of fighting fungus gnats...
i switched to leds because i live in the desert,it's hot here in the summer, leds require substantially less cooling,no bulb changes every 6 months,it's super easy to set up a tent/led combo so i can run my space in a modular fashion and add or subtract space as the conditions change over the year...
i like the garden to be simple to deal with and not suck up all my time...i grow so i have the time to ride when i want...
