What is nice though is that my friend gave me a small organic KC bud this afternoon, which I'm just finishing now - nice to smoke a little more after all this time. Been cocktailing it with Thai to spin it out, but that's not such a good idea now, as it's 4am and I'm still going. Although it was 6am I got to bed this morning, so it's all good...

The only example of 88 sk#1 I have grown is the Cheese cut and that's not woody,weak-stemmed thing that needs support. The KC is the woodiest thing I've grown. It also needs support as it stretches a lot, but once the stretch is over and it gets into flowering more of the stem turns woody than anything else I can remember growing.

Your growing style must be different from at least all my mates then Indifferent/BritishHempire cos if you grow a cheese with flacid branches more fool you same as with th kc how will you ever know how good something is unless you DEAL WITH THE MATTER DEAL WITH IT PROPPER.. I do agree that it has a unusual fiber and tissue matter this KC but are you not on about the s1's you've obtained..

I had the KC cut for about 2 years, lost it a while back and instead of driving a long way to get another cut I started a couple of S1s, which I have going now.

I think it's like any plant, the more light it gets the stouter and stronger it will be ut I've only done the Cheese in low intensity situations so always had to break out the bamboo. I do use liquid silicon but always careful not to overdo it as it can make buds harsh burning.

There's a shitload of different ways to grow stuff, everyone does it different, god knows why folks need to bitch and bicker, smoke more friggin weed when ya feel the need to gob off imho.

Silicon, loads airflow and some stem pinching thickens up most stems, I tend to use canes or bamboo on all my plants though so I can control the canopy and shape cos I like to cram as many plants in as I can to max out the space and lumens so stem strength isn't that important to me. Trainwreck is the floppiest I can think of, it's like a bloody vine, will just fall over and grow horizontal if unsupported.

leaving a perfectly healthy clone to sit in "stasis" as a house plant in the front room away from intense light but not out of a 18/6 routine is a sure fire way to get wooden spoon arms. However since a long time I have pinched Supercropped bent and done all manner of things to all plants to get a few fat trunks as it is the key to a fat full harvest and I tell them plants in my room what to do when to sleep and who's the daddy where botton and top are and in a range of 10.000+ lumens any branch not fatter than a pencil I get rid of as it is not produceing the A+, a oscilating fan helps in Veg as does Silica but only realy need Silica in coco and hydro.. The only downside on Beasting and Pinching I can see is that I always mask true expression,, or not I do like to grow christmas tree shapes but it's not my prefered method.. I was considering some KC s1's to see Howmany Hollow woody stem Inderviduals came about this is a desired breeding trait for potency directly linked to THC production and is sort after in Males too as I have not smoked this strain yet I am Intreeged as I have a few keepers strangly they are all woody types but this is the only hollow woody stem I have found and to be told of its incredible Resins is wow... I have found it roots fast but has a tendency to let a air embolysmn up the hollow and a few die.. I am not for nor against S1's or feminized seeds for that matter I just Like the Old school way of finding a mum. Do you see and hybrid vigour or any mutations or more internodes on the S1's Indifferent. (To me this sounds like a great female pollen source ) It needs to be tested on different lines and progeny tested but if your S1's are pretty homoginous/stabel one may be albe to concider Breading propper strains through fem and reversals. S a line say 5 times then when its lost all vigour its KC pollen time, just a thought..
