No other cheese stands up even close to the cheese cut but most are very nice anyhoo in my experience. I think GH cheese is pretty much BB cheese as far as I know. JBo

We like a slice of Cheese don't we ... :D

Strawberry Cheesel is the nicest Cheese cross we've seen in relation to plant size / yield, and overall looks....

Spicy Cheese F1 and F2 are the finest in relation to resin profile / taste and flavour IME...

...much of which draws essence from the 'Afghan'/ Kali in BigBuddhas Cheese.. which IMO smokes like high-grade in its own right!

You're getting me all excited now Doc,seems like the Cheese is good little combiner for more reasons than the smell anyhoo,Skunk1 is the original good breeder and the cheese just has that little more flava than the average Skunk.
Not had the mite magnet problems from crosses of cheese in my limited experience that usually come with the cut though, how about you guys...Thats one of the few things about cheese that I would change. I found BB's vigorous and resistant and the 2 crosses Ive run seemed cool as well.
Keep it Queso! JBo
Hi VerdantGreen glad u r getting something from the thread!

"IMO,,,"

cheese has way more to offer than the avarage SK1 ....its branch structure in veg is nothing like the most SK1 plants....its leafs are very thin and long,Cheese seems to express more of the col.gold an aco.gold , than the usal Afghan Veg profile in 99.9% of dutch skunk seeds....

anyone know where the Cheese Calax Structure came from,,,,,????

col.gold traits are easly noticable an the Afghan Smell only kicks in on the 6-8th week......hmmm,,,i wonder if the Afghan genes ONLY fully manifest themselvs at peek flowertime for the Afgani...hmm.....,,,,,,,,,,,anyways

id say thin leaf SK`s are rare in dutch Skunk ,,,,

Cheese is perfect to use in a SK IBL Line with sativa veg structure ....the dutch seem to go the broad leaf / Afghani veg side....i think there is magic in a "sativa vegative disposition"

Rick the skunk#1 i grew out in '03 was quite sativa like in plant and leaf structure with very thin bud leaves and amazing red purple splattered leaves and magenta buds, from seed the plants looked like clones( 2 fems). Very different to some of the other dutch skunk#1s iv seen that your obviously talkin bout. That was seed from the flying dutchmen. Really high quality bud id defo grow those seeds again in the greenhouse...il post some pics itl take me a while to find em...Peace

I don't think that cheese is that sativa leaning more in the middle as far as crystal, stench and flavour go but high veers towards Sativa end.It is quite Sativa compared to a lot of Dutch skunks but not in the General scheme of things...
It has the skinny leafs of a mostly sat also but I think the Calyxes are Afghan/Kushy with Sat influence(A,Gold) Corning them up slightly + it is relatively quick. By the time cheese was found in a Sensi version the strain had been worked in a few directions already and when you go that far down lines you find plants that look and grow Indi but are practically all Sativa in buzz and tastes. Shes an individual little Polecat thats for sure! I'm sure SamS has said b4 that its a pheno he recognised from her past JBo

Anyone done dr. greenthumbs Cheese in their grow? They claim it is clone only. I have popped one of the beans out of my pack and was curious because it resembles my platinum master...just not as thick in the leaves.

Hi BB,
never heard of Greenthumbs Cheese before man?, i'd imagine he's used the Exodus Uk Cheese as well with you saying "clone only", is it a Uk Cheese S1 (Feminised)?

peace

Something old, something new, and both blue...

Something old, something new, and both blue...

Here's the two latest 'Blueberry' plants running through my cabinet - at left is 'the blues', the UK clone-only strain, and then my freaky '98 Blueberry f3 mentioned earlier. The blues is at five weeks, and the BB#2 at six, but the bud structure and growth are completely different:

I've not grown the blues before, but its exactly like the Mystery Strain and NL X BigBud so far, in that it seems to flower very slowly for the first half of the period, and then accelerates rapidly to a 8-9 week finish. The buds always seem very small for the stage of flowering, and always trigger a mild panic that 'something's wrong' - it never is...:)

It has the sweet diesel/blueberry smell, but also a very dank, earthy, dungeon-like back-end (like Big Bud's description in Cannabible 1), which pervades everything - sweeter on drying, but pretty stinky during growing. It is making me more nervous than usual, and I've added my Vaportek unit to the space just in case it gets too reeky...:)

The BB#2 is a different beast altogether, and incredibly sweet, fruity and perfumed. The weird 3-pointed leaves can easily be seen, and the 'bobbly' calyxes, which are very soft and velvety to the touch. The seeded branch is already getting so heavy I've had to tie it up...:)

I've also got a nice fat Mystery Strain clone going, and that will go into flower soon, for a backcross with the Overflow pollen - 75% of the Mystery Strain in seed form - will be nice, as it's the first time I'm aware of anyone trying to cross this, strangely. I put a bit of the same pollen on the blues a few days ago too..:)

Interesting Cheese related discussion above. Having had mine for a little while now, my major gripe is with the vigour. I've not had the mite problem (yet), but probably only because you guys had me spraying them weekly from early on.

Having popped a few other beans now, and seen how fast they veg compared to the Cheese, I'm a lot keener to try other F1s, rather than do another Cheese run. I will definately keep hold of her, though, and try to run at least a little bit every so often, but mainly because as discussed above, she's great breeding stock if/when I want to explore that myself - a top selection of a true breeding strain.

If anything, having the Exodus has probably given me premature desire to pollen chuck.. just need to pick out a stand-out dude from some pack or another! :abduct:

True dude, probably doesn't help that I'm inexperienced in general. They are growing pretty dense though, especially with the bondage..
