What I was curious about. I don’t understand why the bright side cut is valued so much more than exodus.
I’ll post here as I flower her.
Shes in week 1 now.
I am not convinced that what goes around our parts as the "exodus cheese", the proper cut that some have around here, is not the same cut as the brightside cut, just 20 years separated and maybe changed slightly over time, or not, and maybe just different environments and maybe viral loads. In otherwords, I feel they might be the same cut, but thats based off me growing the one for many many years, and others descriptions and discussions around the other. But one would have to do genetic tests to actually know. Till then it's all speculation.

I’ve had the Exodus cut , lost her due to a grow house move.
And now I landed the bright side.
They appear very similar , but I don’t have the other to compare.
Brightside does seem more vigorous.

Is this bright side?
Il need more pics to tell,,

At some point when I'm not completely bogged down with working 7 days a week il run all the potential cuts and weed out the real brightside,,, it will be in the bunch of cuts I've not taken in yet,, loads of people offer me cheese to check but since I've been on this job I've not had a second to give,, but I will do soon as I can,, my whole life is devoted to getting this project off the ground properly,,, when I finally get everything going I promise il come back to this and sort it out once and for all

Sorry for the quality I don't have access to a camera these days...

@Piff Rhys Jones She smokes like a dream yes. Holds its own against modern Cali Clones. Smell and taste are on the top level. Really stinky! Moreish and full with many flavours in it. It coats your mouth leaves you salivating. The smoke leaves on your nostrils a unique sharpness that you identify quickly with this strain.
High is good, potency ok you get at first a bit uplifting and after that a nice relax. No couchlock or knock out weed but very enjoyable and somehow fun (at least compared with the cali strains I had in this same grow).

Bag appeal isn't very special visually but with that smell you don't really need it!

Yield was ok, but as I said I grew them too short (was expecting more stretch) and underfed them.

Phenotypical expression is very important as to the outcome. I have been told by people who grew the same clone as me that I have a different clone. So here we are with the debate again. I think it is very important that your clones are mature to fully express themselves. Strong veg phase that allows them to produce 7 finger leaves will give you such a difference. I can even see the difference in this room from the best and healthiest most powerful clones to other ones that were a bit lankier. More resin, better calyx/leaf ratio,...

Cheers!

Phenotypical expression indeed!

Like we've seen with Sour Diesel and OG Kush - many of the differently named cuts are likely genetically identical to each-other and have developed different phenotypical expressions over time through morphology adapting to different environments, viruses, viroids, etc..

Like maryjaneismyfre has said, whether a particular cut has the strength of terps or even what part of Cheese's terps are predominant at harvest is also greatly effected by those factors. Cheese has been around even longer than those cuts - so, it would make sense genetically identical cuts are expressing differently in different gardens - especially since Cheese has been hoarded so much - some Cheese cuts likely have been isolated in a garden for perhaps decades developing a morphology/phenotypic expression suited to living in that particular garden before being released to another grower.

So - I think your cut, and a few others posted here, are genetically speaking - most likely the real original Cheese. It sounds like it has the stink and other characteristics associated with the real Cheese and, IMO, the coloring is fine and in line with what I think Cheese should look like when flushed for the last few weeks.

Last time I bought some proper cheese we got an oz and drove it home… it stank the neighbourhood out so we drove back to invest in a 9 bar.
We got stopped by police driving back there(no weed on us) and they refused to believe we didn’t have weed in the car, tore it to bits 😂 they were going to strip search us but I told them I smoked my last joint in the car and they backed down, since I don’t drive.

Loud shit.

Harvest at 70 days. Gave them last days of cold AC as I had some mites and wanted them to slow down.

Great job with this summer run , I don't know how was the weather for you but in my region it has been a horrible season. Moderately hot but very humid, RH was around 80% outside the whole summer and it's not over yet but I have harvested my last run who flowered from beginning of June to 25th of August. If you're in Europe or UK you certainly had an awful climate to deal with those last months. But your buds are beautiful, really shinning from all those trichomes, I'm sure the smells are powerful (y)
I have a Skunk who is supposed to have 50% Cheese genetics in the first days of 12/12; I'm surprised to see how the leaves are looking similar to your plants on those pictures, it's a Chunky Skunk from Sagarmatha, I have no idea what they will give but I like how she looks so far and the stem rub has a very appealing smell to me, very acid.
