Twin 70w CMH Cab

Looks good Gnz! Way to get them to yield, I love it, aren't you glad you didn't shoot for 60 days? your patience is well rewarded it sounds like, I'm thinking I pulled mine a bit early but its still nice :) its good to see buds abound, I got more on the way too, can't wait for the results, yours and mine :)
Tell me about it, that og kush you're growing is a beauty. Wish I had access to those genetics more reliably but can't complain with this bag seed. Are you jar curing?

Oh ya, def get something between that concrete, just in case.
There's about a 4" air space under the cab, planning to fill that with wool or fiberglass insulation after this round and add another pair of air intakes.

Day 70 - chop time for the larger plant.

I ended up giving her almost 30 hours of darkness and chopping on day 70. Still not a huge amount of yellowing as you can see.

Ended up with a roughly trimmed wet weight of 388g, or hopefully a dry weight of around 3.5oz.

Happy with how the structure turned out, and with how the plant yielded considering she was severely root bound. Hopefully will get another ~50 dry grams from the other plant in a weeks time.

Thats a good pull off one little beast of a plant for sure! It looks healthy right till the end but I think that's not a bad thing necessarily. Its easy to get a fade in hydro all you do is stop all the food and they yellow right up. Im still amazed how much they keep on with just straight water in hydro. That OG you mention, she was underfed the whole time looking pale in flower, its on the end of a two week flush and talk about losing color, fan leaves are nearly white, but I think it's a very hard thing to do with indoor growing, especially in soil, to simulate the natural death of the plant.

Jar cure, yup, I'm trying to. If I don't smoke it all before it gets nice. I've got some in jars and seeing how that goes, I need more hygrometers, I have three but between two tents, a drying spot, and bag burping etc, I feel like I need ten. Lol, at least, when yr doing perpetual.

Anyways congrats on a successful harvest, good job man! Here's to more to come!

Cheers chronosync, there's mixed opinions on whether to even flush at the moment anyway. I fed molasses at 7-8 weeks so mostly flushed for burnability. I think next time round with bagseed I'm going to keep nutes to a bare minimum.

I made a drying box, safe to say it needed to be a little bigger.

Should get 3 to 3.5oz dried for sure, well apart from the odd stem weight you have but looking good.

I'm hoping for 3oz dried once it's had a tidier trim and been cut from the larger stems, with about 1.5oz dried and trimmed from the other plant. It will be interesting to see how yield compares with more soil and less issues. It will come in a little under .5gpw this time.

Great harvest on that plant! Nice fat colas. Good job.

Thanks man, I've only got a couple of indoor grows under my belt so I'm happy with how it came out.

One thing I've noticed is the stems which grew almost horizontally grew heaviest. The bottom stems along the right hand side/top of the plant yielded really well despite only receiving light along one side, the growth exposed to direct light doesn't look any different to the 'dark side' of the cola other than the tip pointing itself towards the light and throwing out foxtails.

So next time I might try turning a few individual buds on their sides, along with LSTing the whole plant again.

Halfway through drying, will be 7 days and into jars I think. RH has been about 65% and temperatures have been around 20c.

The remaining plant in flower still has a little way to go, looking like 12 weeks rather than 11.

Well I think my buddy was being honest when he said this strain was more sativa heavy, not looking like she'll be finished for at least another week so I've given her some half strength terra flores (first nutes in two weeks).

Wound up with 85.31g dry after 7 days, 1.31g over 3oz which I'm happy with. Into jars for 3-4 weeks of cure, will try a tester after a week or 2.

ID honestly say thats A good yield. Plus Thats A Pretty good percentage of dry weight from the wet bud weight.

Im really debating on getting A 150watt cmh, After reading your grow thread and A Couple other light threads..Since I need to pick up A Bigger light to add to my CfL, and LED Bulbs haha.

Its just kinda hard because theres 500watt-1kwatt hps/mh set ups on amazon starting at around 120$ going up to a much higher price though. But im tight on funds right now.

Ultimately 600w is the best value for money, the only reason to go smaller is to experiment with smaller spaces. If I was dead set on growing the most weight I could, rather than experimenting and enjoying myself, I'd run a 600w on a light mover in an ~8 plant tent and aim for 1gpw. If you've got the space and the privacy it's pretty foolproof.

Edit: I actually retract the above, I'd be far more likely to go LED than using any kind of discharge bulb again.
For a cab this size you'd use screw in LEDs and likely have more even light distribution. I went CMH because I got the gear for next to nothing, I was originally using CFL. There may be some advantages to CMH over LED but probably not in this cab.

Day 83

Foxtailing under the LEDs much like the other strain. Trichomes still aren't great but I'd like to chop sometime soon and get onto the next round. I think she might be as ready as she's gonna get.
