Nope. Actually, it was a young couple with nowhere else to go. I fed them and gave them a cool comfortable place to sleep. Then they stole my truck.
I remember someone telling me in another thread that karma is a bitch and I probably got what I deserved (different subject).
So, if karma is 'accurately aimed' by unseen forces in the universe then why are kind actions rewarded with harmful actions?
alas karma doesn't work directly. some people's karma never catches up with them in this life, those come back as cockroaches.
some others get their truck stolen after actually helping people. it's a fucked up mystery and will never be answered with any certainty. i'm starting to think dealing well and honorably with others is it's own reward, you get to look in the mirror and respect what you see. you get to not be nagged by a bad conscience and with any luck someone will be there to help you in your moment of need. although it seems there are no guarantees....

^^^ I believe that completely. The reward is looking in the mirror and feeling good about who we are... but allowing others to cheat us makes us feel like crap too. I'M AN IDIOT!! Also, those who do really bad things, often feel far better about themselves than anyone ever should and for zero good reasons. So yes, it's a fucked up mystery.

maybe being kind to them subverted something way worse from happening, maybe if they had not stolen the truck you would have driven it down the road and gotten killed in it?
Its all how you choose to look at it, I think.

Electoral college is very important in,a diverse nation like America. Without the electoral college, the only votes that would matter would be those in the states with large population the country would largely be ruled by California and New York. This is why we have 2 seats per state in the Senate. It assures that states with smaller population have a say in the way they are governed. Equal representation may not seem important to those who are in control of the masses, but if you look at it objectively, no one group should have absolute power.
