This is a tough spot, I don't want classified info going to Russians. The defense team is pretty sharp. Force the state to release sensitive information, or they will be forced into a trial Muller isn't ready for. I bet Mullers team is in panic mode right now. Prepare for one of the biggest trials in American history, in an extremely short time, with little admissible evidence.

It sure seems that he isn't prepared for a prosecution. I read somewhere the Russians lawyer requested, all evidence of U.S. involvement in foreign elections. Sounds like the defense is going to go on the offensive, essentially using U.S. involvement in foreign elections as a defense. How can you prosecute a person for something the government does on a regular basis. The Judge seems to be putting the brakes on Mullers antics. I find it entertaining. Gotta love when the constitution does it's job. It's so rare these days.

Possible I suppose, but there would have to be some unprecedented moves to jump from a criminal prosecution to national security considering how different the rules are for each. If they were going to bottle it up, I would think that they would have to drop the charges.

Yes, but I doubt that it will fly. In the US, the prosecution HAS to show the defendant the evidence that they have prior to the start of the trial. There are ways to work the system, which Mueller has already tried, like waiting as long as possible and then turning over mountains of evidence that may or may not be relevant to the case and forcing the defendant to find the needles in the haystack. Mueller has already tried this by turning over 2 terabytes of untranslated Russian social media transcripts, but the judge isn't going for it. As I stated earlier in the thread, Weissmann (Mueller's chief attack dog) is notorious for playing with these rules, and it has gotten his convictions reversed time after time.
