that is what is making things interesting
major failure of the polling/prediction system
so we're kind of flying blind at the moment
is there a significant Trump base? maybe, there are the organized crowds
but fact is we don't know, and won't get the clear message until the next election
if in fact the poll/predictions work this time

I don't think that there is any doubt that there is a significant Trump base. From what I see, he is far more popular than before the election, and he won the election (timeout here for anguished squeals and teeth-gnashing about the Electoral College....). The economy is doing well, unemployment is at record lows and people are seeing that Obama's "new normal" was simply bullshit. His message has caught on all over, much to the distress of Soros, Trudeau, etc. And, of course, we are all waiting for the MOAB due Thursday in the form of the IG report. :)

Delusional a recurring theme you use towards anyone you do not agree with.

Check any popularity polls buddy. This guy is down there with Nixon. Let's be positive - things go well with Kim and trump. Now he has two best friends Kim and Putin. Two minor league thugs.

Funny! Even CNN doesn't agree with you -

https://www.cnn.com/2018/05/07/politics/cnn-poll-trump-steady-right-direction-rises/index.html

Not to mention Rasmussen, who has him with a higher approval rating than Obama at the same date -

https://www.rasmussenreports.com/pu...p_administration/trump_approval_index_history

Or perhaps you meant when Nixon won in '72 with almost 61% of the popular vote and the 4th largest landslide in history...

Of course they were. It's one big love fest with the liberal elites..just like Bill Maher, wishing the economy collapses so President Trump loses his reelection. TDS all the way !

Yeah the anti Trumpers are pretty fucked. I hated many things Obama did but I never wanted him to fuck up too bad just so he'd lose his reelection. Shit, I voted for Ron Paul in the primary, damn sure didn't want Romeny. Lol

But just wanting the whole country to suffer just so Trump doesn't win reelection is fucking retarded. Just like Ron Paul, we will not end up with Bernie Sanders and even if we did, how's Bernie going to give us free health care and college when the nation is broke? Lol

Wanting Trump to fail is wanting America to fail. I personally hope he becomes one of the greatest presidents of all time, of course he's got a ways to go.

Would it really be so bad to have a good relationship with Putin and Kim? I don't think Putin is that bad of a guy, he actually seems pretty reasonable for the most part. I don't know about Kim he could want a better life for his people, would be cool if he did. Of course he did threaten us with nukes but I'm sure he knows he will lose and China and Russia will not interfere due to mutually assured destruction.

The Cold War ended a good while ago, really one of the worst things Obama did was try to restart the Cold War. The Cold War was horrible all around, proxy wars fought all over the world, innocent people who had absolutely nothing to do with the problems between the USA and the USSR.

North Korea gets rid of the nukes and chills out yeah, I will happily buy Chinese like knock offs from them.

Perhaps you need to elucidate on what you mean by "symbol". To me, symbols are representations of some greater, intangible concept. To me, guns are incredible mechanical designs that can help offer a level of security that is absent in much of "civilization" regardless of it's political basis.

No, I learned it in 8th grade civics in 1968, where the teacher expounded at length about the tyranny of democracy. I'm old, but OCS pre-dates me considerably...

Admired the Franklin quote about delivering a republic, if it could be kept.

I do not think either you or I have been unclear about what we value.

Poor Deniro. Playing the sap now. Used to be a good actor. Used to star in good movies unlike the stuff he does now.

Do not think much will come of the meeting but it could kick off a new direction for Kim to explore. I think he is a terminal psychopath, Kim not Trump, but you work with what you have.

Maher is another unfortunate sap. Kill the US to save it, thanks genius.

Last time i started in on political discussion here I was banned. So I'm gonna keep things simple and maybe just chime in on non partisan points. Putin IS a bad guy. He murders his competition and will do anything to piss on America. And if Kim wants to improve the lot of his people, well, that's nice of him. Very sweet. Maybe he should stop enslaving and murdering them. Not my business.

wow, just wow. do you see that look? and the heavy breath? he is pissed off? almost seems like it's some how personal for DeNiro, mind you hes always been a great actor.

I would say that DeNiro knows that Trump is just an ego driven, incompetent prick who will do ANYTHING, including dragging america down just to save his pock marked, saggy, lily white skin.

Why wouldn't anyone passionate about their country and country folk get pissed?

He knows he's a CONMAN, and people are getting bent over a barrel and don't even know it.... it's Donald Trump 101... clap your hands and raise your fist, talk boldly about winning, while laughing at them behind their backs.

I think you see that because you think i'm an idealist, a liberal or a leftist.... but no, not really....

I have mentioned before that i think John Kasich seems like he could be a very decent President, and seems like a decent thoughtful guy....

If Trump does anything anything good, i would acknowledge it, sure.... but it doesn't give him a pass on all of the bullsh*t he does/doesn't do.

His pathological lying and sheer lack of knowledge or compassion is hard to get past.

Oh boy, All the trumpies are happy now. So far it has not turned into a clusterfuck and the fool doesn't look like a fool again,,, yet.

Try to keep in mind that Kim Jong-Un EXECUTED his defence minister (his uncle) with an anti-aircraft gun in front of hundreds of spectators - because he dozed off during a North Korean military ceremony.

The speech segment about "Otto did not die in vain" and his parents being "really great people" really had me chocked up.

Well Obama shit all over Putin so I don't think he's terrible. Of course he can't just take it like a bitch and do nothing, so yeah he pushed back a little. I doubt the Russian people want a weak leader, which is probably why they like Putin.

As for North Korea well this Kim just barely took over a really fucked up government from his father and grandfather, obviously it will take some time to make that country better for the people. Of course I don't know Kim so I have no idea what kind of person he is. All I know about North Korea is the propaganda we are fed and that's all you know about North Korea as well I would imagine.

He certainly seems better than his father since he's been talking with South Korea and now the USA, so I do have a little hope they are not that bad with the new Kim. Of course he can't change everything overnight the people have been indoctrinated since 1948, so baby steps are needed.

Of course if all the peace talks fail, well war is the only option left. I'd prefer it to end peacefully personally.

His uncle might have been a dick...

Actually very likely, his father was pretty bad for sure and this Kim was educated in Switzerland so he might not be that bad. Denis Rodman seems to think he's cool. Lol

it was discussed, but we didnt have time to include it in the agreement.

i'm only about a quarter through and this statement is coming up again and again at the q and a, lol.

although i do think having a relationship is better then not, it's kinda funny. Trump is certainly giving Kim the benefit of the doubt, but all the years of propaganda are now coming back to haunt this process. how can you even talk to someone as evil as they have made him out to be over the years? on the other hand without talking there is only war. it's a real challenge to negotiate under such circumstances.

trying to be really fair, so i want to say, there are moments of greatness, where he gives perfect answers^that are 100% logical. he seemed to learn that there are 28 million south Koreans just across the border from the north, any war would have counted victims in the 10s of millions. but i also notice moments where he seems to be bluffing his way through a question.
