Oh yeah for all the people who think the government knows what's best for you. You better stop fighting for cannabis, since this government that knows best has consistently been anti cannabis.

If government were reformable don't you think it would have happened by now?
the point is, it's possible. under a system of private ownership, it's impossible.
this country has undergone many shifts or reformations in the last 100 years. for instance in the 1980s neoliberalism took over the country and killed it.

If healthcare wasn't for profit polio would still kill people.
the polio vaccine was originally given away. it wasn't created because jonas salk wanted a fat bundle of cash lol.

heart transplant, brain surgery, cancer treatments, all created by private companies.
cool and now theyre largely unaffordable for most americans. so what good does that do? also lol you say this as if this shit could only be thought up by private companies.

Government doesn't create wealth, innovation, or anything else.
the government has been the leading innovator in health care since the ACA came in to place. the idea that only the private sector can make marketplace innovations is a total bullshit myth.

let's look at some numbers;

Currently, since the ACA/Obamacare has been enacted, about 80% of every premium dollar goes towards private health insurance. Before Obamacare basically forced insurers to spend that much towards actually insuring people, it wasn't close to 80%.

i'll just copy and paste the rest cause i'm lazy:

"By contrast, Medicare, the largest U.S. public insurer, paid just 1.5 percent of its budget to administer traditional insurance plans for seniors and workers with severe disabilities in 2015, according to official data. The rest of Medicare’s budget went to paying doctors, hospitals, drug companies and other health care providers.

When you account for administrative costs of Medicare’s private plans, which cover some one-third of Medicare beneficiaries, Medicare’s overhead approaches 6.4 percent of its budget.

The comparison shows that expanding Medicare to cover the entire population ― or adopting a single-payer health insurance system ― would significantly reduce health care costs by eliminating a whole lot of expenses that aren’t related to medical care. That’s in part because Medicare does not have to advertise its services, make a profit for investors, or reward its executives with multi-million-dollar compensation packages, as private insurers do. "

so in other words, more money for actual health care. less money into the pockets of pointless advertisers and executives.

I guess thousands of years of government failure was only due to the wrong people in charge. I have seen my parents go from paying 600 a month in health care premiums with a 2000 dollar deductible. To paying 1500 a month in health care premiums, and a 12,000 dollar deductible with a bigger increase coming next year under Obama care, basically nullifying their health insurance. Oh and a penalty if you don't. Explain how that is better please, I Will wait. By the way my parents make less than 80k a year combined

health care premiums around the world are increasing though. even in countries like canada, uk, and so on that already have one form of universal health care. obamacare actually slowed that increase down. without it, they would have been paying even more.

there is no penalty thats more bullshit. yes its on the books but it isnt enforced.

i'm saying this all as no fan of obamacare. looking at it objectively though, it covered more americans and slowed down the crazy prices we pay from increasing even more.

single payer/universal health care/medicare for all is the only real option left. it's time to kick these rapacious middlemen out of the health care system.

your parents would have net benefitted from a bernie sanders presidency. they wouldn't have had their taxes raised other than the tax for health care which replaces the private premium costs.

The UK and Canada have, single payer system so you can't really use there rate increases to justify single payer systems superiority over a free market.

Obama care was designed to fail so the government can come to the rescue with Medicare for all. The astronomical rate and deductible increases which has essentially erased medical coverage for a massive portion of the middle-class. With a 1500 premium and a 12000 dollar annual deductible you are paying more each month for an insurance you effectively can't use without spending 40 % of take home income.

I really wish you would learn history, Socialism/ Communism have a 100% failure rate. At the expense of well over 100 million lives.

What product would you buy that has a 100% failure rate?

I had a Syrian English teacher a few semesters ago who was there when the Russians brought there system of power with them.

He put it really well
"How many millions of people have to die so you can have your utopia?!!!"

By the way my parents had it better before the government took over health care.

MORE government is better in your world, less government is better in my world. Since government has been responsible for more death's than anything else, not cancer, heart disease, smoking, HIV,polio, small pox, Black plague combined. Yet people think more is the answer. That is a totally lapse of reality. Learn from history, the type of people who go into government are the kind of people who seek to dominate.

Hey packerfan- you hold all politicians to the same standard?

I sure do hate every God damn one of them. I respect the men that wrote the constitution because they wrote a document that restricted their own power since they ultimately became the government. I realize unfortunately most people wouldn't stand a chance if there was no government to keep society from becoming a free for all. This is why I belive in a smaller constitutionally limited government. I get Trump and the republicans are pretty far from this. I really like Ron Paul and I do regret not voting for him

I feel that given the choice of the right and the left, the right is closer to the idea of smaller government. Trump is president and the media is dead set on finding anything to hurt him, even if it's blatantly false. I have read dozens of retractions from many different liberal publications. They lie , they publish classified information. Wtf that's a crime. They blatantly ignore anything from Wikipedia, or Edward Snowden (who would of been protected by the whistleblower law, except he was an independent contractor so those protections don't apply if you are a for profit contractor.)

It's time to stop the constant attacks, and give him a chance. I am not saying you have to support him, but stop assuming he's wrong, and see what happens. Maybe just mabey things will get better. I don't think they can get much worse without complete chaos. Unfortunately, complete chaos is what is happening at institutions of higher learning nation wide

I have said my piece, I will try not to post off topic again in this thread. Regardless of political affiliation, I have love for all my brothers and sisters in Cannabis

Good news, guys. The budget the congress just passed to avoid shutting down the government saved the prohibition on the justice department spending any money on legal medical Cannabis enforcement. Also all of Trumps pet projects and cuts were rejected. Saved for a little while anyway.

IMO the border wall will never happen. i think he just started saying that in the primaries to rally the republican base. now that hes president its nothing more than bargaining chip.

Sorry to drop more actual facts....... but........ Somebody should tell the Antartic to stop creating more ice, I mean, doesn't it know the earth is heating. Al Gore says so.

http://www.theblaze.com/news/2017/0...s-horrible-news-for-global-warming-alarmists/

New report about Antarctica is horrible news for global warming alarmists

According to the authors’ abstract:

“The Antarctic Peninsula (AP) is often described as a region with one of the largest warming trends on Earth since the 1950s, based on the temperature trend … recorded at Faraday/Vernadsky station. Accordingly, most works describing the evolution of the natural systems in the AP region cite this extreme trend as the underlying cause of their observed changes. However, a recent analysis (Turner et al., 2016) has shown that the regionally stacked temperature record for the last three decades has shifted from a warming trend of 0.32 °C/decade during 1979–1997 to a cooling trend of − 0.47 °C/decade during 1999–2014. … We show that Faraday/Vernadsky warming trend is an extreme case, circa twice those of the long-term records from other parts of the northern AP. Our results also indicate that the cooling initiated in 1998/1999 has been most significant in the N and NE of the AP and the South Shetland Islands (> 0.5 °C between the two last decades), modest in the Orkney Islands, and absent in the SW of the AP. This recent cooling has already impacted the cryosphere in the northern AP, including slow-down of glacier recession, a shift to surface mass gains of the peripheral glacier and a thinning of the active layer of permafrost in northern AP islands.”

Arctic and Antarctic just had the biggest recorded melts ever.

Ok here's a chance for people like me to weigh two sources of information that say the exact opposite things.
Who is the guardian? Is it a liberal rag like the blaze is a conservative rag?

PF-thats the closest you have come to answering a question. But w all the "Hillary is the crookedest politician ever" rhetoric I still would like to determine your standing: thinking or just following?
Do you apply the same standard to all politicians?

Preet Bharara gave all his evidence on Trump to NY Attorney General

Preet Bharara gave all his evidence on Trump to NY Attorney General

It's looking more and more like the Trump Administration will be too busy with its own legal problems to go after pot smokers.

Preet Bharara gave all his evidence on Donald Trump to New York Attorney General before firing

By Bill Palmer
Updated: 7:52 pm EDT Mon May 1, 2017

Back when Donald Trump woke up one day in March and decided to ask forty-six U.S. Attorneys for their immediate resignations, many suspected that it was merely cover for getting rid of Preet Bharara in particular. He’d busted Russian and Turkish nationals with alleged connections to Trump, and was presumably going after Trump himself next. But Bharara refused to resign, buying him an extra day or two before being fired – and now we know why.

“I’m told by my source that Bharara took that time while still in office to collect and transfer all Trump files to [New York State Attorney General Eric] Schneiderman,” revealed Washington insider Claude Taylor today (link). This helps explain several things. One is why Preet Bharara bought himself an extra bit of time by refusing to abide by Trump’s request to resign; he needed that time to pull his accumulated evidence together and get it to Schneiderman. The other is why Schneiderman ended up hiring Bharara’s former right hand man Howard Master (NY Daily News) just ten days later, in a move that could not have been coincidental.

This also explains why Schneiderman is now reportedly bringing state level RICO charges against Trump and his associates (link). Preet Bharara had likely been working on a federal level RICO case against Trump at the time Trump fired him. So why would Bharara give the evidence to a state level official instead of a fellow federal official?

The short answer is that Donald Trump might end up finding a way to hinder or scuttle any federal prosecution brought against him, as he controls the Department of Justice and he can fire any U.S. Attorneys who might come after him. But there is nothing Trump can do to stop a state level case. And as Palmer Report has previously pointed out, Trump can’t pardon himself or his associates from any state level crimes or charges.

Hey, it's no secret and has been on the news over here a bit. Google "record Antarctic ice melts".
