So...in the states it's pretty obvious that the climate is not a scientific debate but a political one(I'm aware there are exceptions)
I am curious how the debate is framed in other countries? Is it strictly partisan? Maybe someone on here can give me a glimpse of how it is interpreted in other countries?

Even the Chinese government has acknowledged this fact.
In Australia it's pretty much a political debate 2, at least at a federal level. A couple of states, South Australia the most obvious, seem to be going it alone and setting up there own sustainable energy sources, and the advent of renewable storage batteries like Tesla has certainly thrown a cat among the pigeons. It's becoming increasingly hard for the conservatives to push the “coal is good” mantra, but they're doing their best, like trying to start up Adani, potentially the biggest coal mine in Australia, but now it seems some of the banks are going green and won't finance it. The whole deal is really suss. Interesting times. Beyond the practical considerations of what it all means on a global environmental scale, the question I find the most interesting is why anyone would want to live in a dirty polluted world, but it seems many do.
the scientific debate is essentially over and it has been established that humans activities are contributing to the rate of climate change we are seeing.
New York Attorney General’s RICO case will aim to “impoverish” Donald Trump and his family
By Bill Palmer
Updated: 1:05 am EDT Mon May 1, 2017
Over the weekend multiple sources on opposite sides of the political aisle confirmed that the FBI’s federal investigation into Donald Trump and Russia has led to two grand juries currently underway. Now one of those sources is also expounding on separate state-level legal action being carried out by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman against Donald Trump.
The news of the federal grand juries came separately from Democratic insider Claude Taylor an Republican insider Rick Wilson (link). One of those federal grand juries involves RICO racketeering charges (link), while the other focuses on the Foreign Agent Registration Act. But today Taylor has clarified that this is separate from the state-level RICO charges being pursued against Trump. And the state case is expected to be a doozy.
“My information is that while all this is Federal, AG Schneiderman is going to be presenting a devastating State RICO case that will among other things literally impoverish Trump, Don jr, Eric, Ivanka and Jared” (link), Taylor has revealed. RICO refers to the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, and is most commonly used to take down the highest ranking members of organized crime rings. RICO allows for fines up to “twice the proceeds of the offense,” meaning that if the State can prove its case, it can seize every dollar Trump has ever illegally obtained and beyond. If his fortune is as dependent on illegal gains as is widely suspected, such fines would indeed serve to wipe out Trump and his family financially.
As Palmer Report has previously reported (link), authorities recently arrested ten alleged mafia henchmen in New York whose crime family has ties to convicted Russian mafia figure Felix Sater, who in turn has financial ties to Donald Trump. This was ostensibly with the intention of motivating them to flip on Trump.
Humans are contributing to the plastic waste in the oceans, that's a fact.Other planets in our solar system having the same problem with their climate and we don't live over there.Since the sunspot activity decreased the magnetic shield of the earth has become weaker, so far more influence from space weather like gamma radiation which has an affect on our planet's weather.Other fact is that our solar system is traveling through space, so other parts of the galaxy like gas clouds can have an affect on our solar system and the weather.

Crooked Hillary, Obama and Trump are just puppets of the big establisment.

Ha! Not quite THAT removed from the conversation...but sometimes it's better to listen and ask questions than make statements no?
There will always be nice places to live, if you're rich enough to buy your way in... If you're diversified world wide like Trump, you already have.
I'm always astounded that people can't pick up on the insincerity of Trump & Repub politicians in general. Trump the supposed populist has chosen the wealthiest cabinet in History, including Jeff Sessions, an old fashioned southern ball breaking authoritarian raised on the rhetoric of segregation, a form of soft fascism. He knows all about keeping down the coloreds & the hippy scum, bet on that. And he's reaching out to like-minded cop shops-

Not to mention that they're all hot to trot to bust illegals' balls- you know, like 10% of greater LA, cuz it's supposed to bring jobs back to the Rust Belt, or something.
Meanwhile, they're angling to put the bone to millions of Americans who depend on the ACA & other social programs so that they can cut billionaire taxes...
Smells like... Freedumb!
Mick-thanks for the response!
And I must say I've never heard "tossing a cat amongst the pigeons" before...fukn awesome!

I couldn't agree more. How many people in this thread, and nobody could even answer the question of what is the biggest factor in warming........ How can one pretend to know if warming will occur if you don't even know what contributes to it?[/FONT]
I must have missed this question. Anyway, why don't you tell us what the answer is?
OK. Being the most abundant greenhouse gas in the atmosphere doesn't mean that water vapor is the determining factor driving changes in atmospheric heating. Increased CO2 can explain the changes. It's changes we're looking at here. Increases in water vapor require increases in ocean surface evaporation, which requires increases in ocean and/or atmospheric temperatures. It's changes in atmospheric CO2 content which provides the nudge to generate increased water vapor. That big V8 makes a truck go faster but it requires the gentle nudge of someone's foot on the accelerator.
As I already stated yesterday;

Human activity has increased atmospheric CO2 levels, which in turn absorb radiant heat from the earth. And so our atmosphere has warmed, which in turn warms the oceans. This results in increased evaporation from ocean surfaces. Since atmospheric H2O is such a powerful greenhouse gas, this increase in water vapor captures radiant heat from Earth surfaces and heats the earth big league.
It's a positive feedback loop which contributes to runaway heating. Another positive feedback effect is that the melting of ocean surface sea ice allows incoming sunlight to be absorbed by the dark ocean surface instead of being reflected back out to space. This warms the polar ocean waters which then melt more sea ice (and allow more evaporation).

This last year has shown many heat records. The warming of the arctic regions is unprecedented. Satellite imagery shows the lowest extent of sea ice ever recorded in both the Arctic and Antarctic oceans.

OK, you posted while I was working on my post. So are you saying that recent changes in solar intensity are the cause of the observed warming of Earth's oceans and atmosphere?

Yes, I have heard of this Galileo fellow.
I am aware of the fact that the sun heats Earth's surface.
Your premise requires a recent increase in solar emissions. You have provided no evidence of such.
What a waste of this morning. I'll go do something important now, like taking the dog for a walk. It looks like a beautiful day outside.
its a waste of energy crusader
hazeybulldog is suffering from something callled the Dunning–Kruger effect.
Dunning-Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which low-ability individuals suffer from illusory superiority, mistakenly assessing their ability as much higher than it really is. Psychologists David Dunning and Justin Kruger attributed this bias to a metacognitive incapacity, on the part of those with low ability, to recognize their ineptitude and evaluate their competence accurately.
