But, as far as mj enforcement goes... As much as he's been vocally against weed he's also been a vocal advocate for states rights. If you paid attention to all he's said on the matter he already hinted that he's gonna go after the black market and those using legal states as refuge to supply it. Also Rand Paul said he spoke to him about it personally and he said he's gonna leave the states alone on the matter. People growing in legal states and trafficking to illegal states are who he's gonna go after.

Plus it's just straight delusional to believe he could enforce federal law to the 10's of thousands of people now growing in legal states. The amount of money it would take would be staggering, let alone the amount of stress it would put on the courts, the police, jails, etc. It's just not practical. It ain't gonna happen.

i do think he deliberately lied during his confirmation hearing. had he said i did have contact with a russian ambassador while a campaign surrogate during those hearings he more than likely would not be the AG. on the other hand i do agree with you that he will still be the AG after an investigation is done into the matter but his image will be severely stained.

it is delusional to think hes going to go after everyone but on the other hand fear of being arrested will be his greatest weapon. in most cases thats all he will need.

There is a couple threads going now on this topic. More than once I’ve seen claims put forth that enforcement won’t happen due to a lack of resources. These claims represent a fundamental misunderstanding of the responsibility - as well as ability - to enforce federal statutes. This ability occurs also at a state level.

So, the question is: how many of you in med and or rec legal states have an AG not in favor of said state legalization? I know my AG would love to be told he has a green light to enforce... and how many district US Attorneys would love a green light from whom they take direction: The U.S. Attorney General.

The ability to seize assets renders the claim of a lack of resources to enforce, ineffectual. Specifically at a state level.

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that the seizure laws have been made more available to local police that puts everyone into danger of them assisting the Feds. It feeds the machine.

If you simply had different lines jarred up in different containers you could be looking at attempting to distribute. Even if acquitted they get to keep everything.

Just cause to take your house, vehicles, bank accounts, and anything they see of value. Plus the court fees, and they make you a slave to the private prisons that in turn feeds the lobbyists. Drug war 101.

Some of the bigger commercial setups people have already invested millions into. I don't think that the people who are saying that it won't effect their lives have much "skin in the game" in the form of decent sized investments or even simply are making a comfortable living from the legalized industry.
