True Pure Skunk#1 and Preservation

here she is again.

24 days 12/12 , stretching has almost stopped and bud set is forming.


Same age as the DC ,, at one time the DC was 2 inches taller then the Skunk#1. now SK#1 is 12 inches taller.


From reading a lot of THE PURE thread and I started a thread at Sensi Seeds forum,, it would seem the best 2 versions to match my Skunk#1 89 will show up from TFD and Seedsman,, Sensi Seeds version is more indica dominant and doesnt show as many Sativa Phenos. I will be getting THE PURE from TFD soon and I will continue to update, until I have made seed.

if you want to keep the mom, making seeds isnt gonna do it for you. just make a large batch of clones and gift them to some reputable folks you know. you could also just throw ur mom into flower and keep a few clones as moms. no need to keep a single plant for decades, especially when u are worried about losing that plant. just make more moms...problem solved

Just to throw my 2 cents in....I thought Sam answer was a little weak also...For a person with his knowledge and being the Mod here he knows a little more than most.....Anyone who has been reading and hoping to get SK#1, like myself..Knows that there are big problems with Sensi, and TFD...and there are no good grow reposts on Seedsman skunk...I think what we would all like to know is Sam going to release any SK#1 any time soon...IMO sensi and TFD are just in it for the $$$$$...or what ever gene is hot at the moment....

update with pics later today ,, but she is doing fine, stretch has stopped at 3.4 x the size when 12/12 was started. Resin starts kidna early out pretty far on the few leaves it has. The buds are forming well,, but she really likes more light I will try to put her under the 400watt HPS soon. She has been under 4 x 40watt flouros. I will pollenate this clone in about 2 weeks, with some pollen from a good source.

I have 9 more clones ready, I will keep as a new mothers, and flower out the rest in one of the flouro cabs going to do a SCROG with them under there. 1 will get the TREATMENT to make FEM pollen and get some FEM S1 seeds.

I will continue with updates every week, with any new developments, the results and such.

The work your doing will be a great preservation...some dont care but many do...and will. I dont know why Sam is not selling the old sk#1.. It really baffles me, it would be the staple for so many breeders and pollin chuckers. Why is he not selling the worlds finest ibl ever...?

fast update. She is getting huge as usual, stretch has stopped now, she has switched to full flowering now. here are some pics. Resin is finally forming and well,, last pic look at the main stock, even it has them.

Little bit of advice. Ignore the person who gave you the cut and listen to what Sam has to say. Seeing as how he created SK1 I would trust his opinion. It's been around since the 70's and the original sk1 is far more sativa dominant than what you have.

Well shit, you know that makes me wonder about my heritage of my Skunk#1,, i knew about ISS before but never thought about the fact that mine came from a breeder in BC. It is unknown if he may have used the ISS to make this version of SK#1, as he prolly had access to it,,, But he did specifically say the seeds I got where Pure Offspring from Skunk#1 89' Mother and Father. So, i guess I just might have to look at the ISS for a match point, as it seems to be more on the Sativa side like mine.

Humm, the Island Sweet Skunk available from Next Gen, states that the genetics are:

Genetics: Skunk, Grapefruit Indica, mostly sativa

Not Pure Skunk#1,, not really what I am looking for,, unless there is another Pure Skunk#1 version of ISS. What about PURE CHEESE? The UK SK#1 clone? Damn i just want to find some old ass seed stock from some PURE SKUNK#1. I hope the pollen I am getting will produce what i am looking for. I will update every week from now to keep you updated on her flowering progress.

Glad to hear that the Clone has now received the pollen. Once again I commend you for finding something Pure that you are trying to Preserve. I think so many people are into crosses these days that many old school strains may become extinct.

Also I can't believe that even with the title of this thread (True Pure Skunk #1) and also within the thread where you state the scent that you are looking for that people are telling you to use S.S. that makes no sense. Either way you look at it S.S. is a cross of Skunk #1 and not pure IBL Skunk #1 that Sam The Skunkman worked for 30 years plus. Why do they keep pushing something that is either Afghani x Skunk #1 (one form of Super Skunk) that will push you more towards the Afghan and Stinky side or even pushing something that is Skunk x Grapefruit X Hawaiian Indica on you which takes you completely away from your goal.

I am so glad that you used your own mind and searched out "PURE" Skunk #1 from sources (a few different sources) that like yourself kept their Skunk #1 lines true and didn't try to add anything into the recipe so to speak.

Sam's SK#1 was given away as freebies from Seedboutique years ago and manymanymany people thought they were bullshit and kept whining about germination rates and such...fools. We still have some of those left.

???? his cut isnt even close to indica dominant?? he has a deep chunk next to his skunk cut, maybe you have problems reading?

no seeds came from the pollenation, pollen didnt survive the trip here.

oh well no biggy I now have 2 very interesting seed stocks of old original Skunk lines gifted to me by a breeder here. I will start work verry soon.

sorry I didnt update with more pics of my Skunk#1 '89, my cam broke on me, but I do have pics of close up nugg shots of the SKUNK#1 and the Deep Chunk both at day 60.

I will cross these 2 plants soon, the outcome should be amazing.
