jsut a quick post...this was the heading in one of the local newspapers today....

yup....tis a sad day today as lots of my friends who have been wait'n for some fresh smoke on xmas will have too keep on wait'n, least untill the ****'n cops put some back on the streets....damn 4.4 tons of Colombian Mari, just hurts to even say it. They calculate with these 4,4 toneladas, they could have made 170.600 joints, make'n about 17 mil millones de colones, aproximadamente 35 millones de dólares, en caso de ser distribuida en territorio nacional.

sad day....

I'll be back in a little...jejej just too heart broken right now.

Just read Medjools Obituary...man wasn't ready for that.

She realy ment a great deal to me, and was prob the most wonderfull woman i've met, I give great thanks I met her in person and got to spend time with her jeje spent the day at Hemp fest...i'll never forget her, jeje pass'n the joint to her of that awesome Deep chunk she shared with me, and a few other friends present that day.

She was like wonderwoman now that I think of it, the strength she had, the abilities to be a mom, treacher and wife all in one person...jeje patients is what her name ment, and now I can see why. Her touch with her plants was extraordinary too...Jah tek di best fe him self.

she lives on in my heart is all I know.

ejje hey Bone, yeah ticos right now are have'n a hard time indeed find'n anything decent on the streets, specialy the kids...jeje well teens and my younger friends who still spend a good part of their hard earned money on compressed comercial brick smoke. Its sad, cuase lots of them where counting on that new fresh smoke on the streets and prices to go down...now they go up more and the crap thats available to them is real shitty indeed....but we all know who screwed up goverments work, half what they found will be burned, the other prob put back on the streets in some time....jeje for these poor ticos sake ! ;)

Right now due to this the home growers are make'n serious money. I've been hear'n about some nice Cali O, some White widow, some berry some buble gum...mjejejejej crazy shit all going for $300 - $500 an oz. The Comercial Jamiacan stuff thats more sught out and more exp is all gone too...so leaves you with 2 choices. Street trash, or high grade...most them can't offord no high grade.

High lighter !! jeje thats an awesome pic, loved that but for soem reason am not alowed to give you +karma or what ever they call it here. I wish you and yours the best too my friend.

Swamp,
jeje thats Kenai. his name comes from a Disney movie about a bear and well its a long story but hes just like the caracter in it, jeje always into trouble but just a big bear inside to sit and hug all day. jeje loves to hang out when i'm smoke'n sometimes i'll give him a hit...but he hasn't leanrn't to inhale yet jejejeje his mom "juana " she was a trip she'd actually pull on the joint's i'd stick in her lip. See that pup in there jejej he's follow'n their footsteps indeed...jeje already found his way into paradice. That Trianwreck, i've got 2 sprouts so far out of the ten Tom gave me, jeje can't wait man....go in there everyday hope'n a new one poped out.

Pato,
my good friend, thanks after so many yrs to still stop by and say hi. I hope thigns are going well for you, are you still with the same girlfriend ? Take good care, and jeje oh shit almost forgot, Merry christmas my friend. Un gran abrazo.

Raco, jeje na my friend those are not Trian Wrecks, jeje not yet they are jsut sprouting. these are Colombians, some of mine, some of my cusins, some of yours, some of Charlies and many others all mixed in together some of my 3 gallon pots have up to 6 plants in them, the 5 gallons have got several in them too jejeje I put seeds all over and then just let nature decide, i'd kill the males though ;) there are so many different aromas and different flowers to enjoy very soon....very soon !! i'm think'n a week or 2 for some, while others may have well into a month to go, but thats beter if you ask me...jeje I can smoke while I wait, and I made sure not to have any long waits this yr by putting in seeds while I still have plants in early flower...not wait'n to long to start new seeds can realy be apriciated. I've got many of Charlies panama crosses als going into dirt for new yrs jeje got to start the yr right if you ask me.

Naun Briones, mucho gusto !
hey we share alot in our growing conditions, even the similar elevation, I too have cold nights and hot days, so lots of color can be seen, but the humidity where I live keeps them from change'n some times, where my cusin lives little up more and to the side doesn't get so much humidity, and has a drier envioroment can get plants to go deep purple from the top to the bottom of the plant as few i've got in my gallery.

I enjoyed the peruvian sativas i've tried recently to be honest, did remind me of my colombians very much, and a good friend said that in peru they still conserve alot of the punta rojas from colombian heritage so made me smile indeed...jeje and always want some more, the other plants you've got are the more comercial ones from the seed banks but still promise a great mix to yoru variety, wish you the best on your grow, if you'd like to share pics feel free to do so please, and thanks about the tip about the lights I wasn't sure if that would drive them "crazy " to get a few hrs of light in the middle of there dark period than go back to dark agian before sunrise. I've got a grow cabnet i've made and its got potential and its huge inside....jejej but'ive been use'n it to dry my buds for the last few grows...

New Randude,
Bro sorry for the loss on the seedlings, its good good you still have some to enjoy and sounds like your set up already has cost you some investment so I understand where your coming from on buy'n seeds, some realy are over priced I feel, while others should be priceless...but looking forward to some good news from your grow.

My best to all, merry x-mas and best wishes.

My first choise if I ever move from Ecuador!
Here's some Blockhead pics. from my last indica grow. colors of this strain are amazing and they have a very special high. They don't do good in the wet season beause of mold. I'm glad i manage to get a few seeds out of them to grow again and make a few crosses.
I'm growing the g13xhashplant with one hour light at midnigth and they have grown at least 3 or 4 times bigger than the ones I grew in the past the "natural way"... I will try with only 15min. on my next indica grow.
Feliz Navidad!

Very true Bone, the normal tico won't make more then $400 or $500 a month indeed jejee but well thanks to these sportbooks some of them make a $1000 a month and most likely still live with there parents and go to colage, some rent, but might pay a max of $500 a month maybe and still have a good amoutn left over. But yes the average "joe" has to look around on the streets and if saves up will search for the Jamaican "alaska" bricks, if no luck or not enough cash settle for the Colombian bricks, that during rain season aren't realy the best, and some are say'n a good deal of this brick week is now grown here actually too. During dry season that Colombian brick is can be very nice indeed however. If you can't find ither then its the "bushweed, comptrash" as he song goes jeje we call it "boraja" it's what teh damn crack heads mix with there crap to smoke it. jeje friends love it as i've been pass'n to stuff their x-mas boots with nice fresh buds

Naun,
Oye que belleza ! those look awesome indeed and like a very nice strong aromatic smoke, very nice job and jeje yeah the more indica prone a plant the more its got to be caredfor...after all thats what indica means. The more sats can be out n the middle of the rain and kinda just shake it off while the dance in the wind, but even the best of sativas can need a little care, still those look great and thats real positive info about your experiments with lights at night, one thing I worry about is a higher number of hermafrodites in your grow due to light stress...I know that in my exp growing sativas the least amount of light at night just drives them nuts and get these wierd fluffy all streached out buds and if your lucky you won't get bananas all over the place, they dislike light at night and perfer a true dark period to sleep, indicas might be used to more interuptions as they grow in places where light hrs can very considerably while sativas grow in places where jejej well lets face it we don't have daylight save'ns time. Shits prety balanced all yr...sun might hit you at a dif angle, and might get 30min more here...but means you'l get 30min less there... 12/12 is the norml, and if you live on a farm you realy know what i mean...gets dark you go to sleep, sun comes up you get to work.

Very nice pics, here is one of my favorite from my cusins grows,
called it Purple monster after his favorite home soccer team Saprisa.

light experiments to grow indicas outdoors in the tropics

light experiments to grow indicas outdoors in the tropics

Man nice deep purples your cusins got there! I guess your night temps go down to around 10c? maybe less?
The only "stress" effect that I have noticed so far by flashin light at tem at night during veg time, is that their flower hormone will not "turn on", the plants will just keep growing until you want to (or until they reach sexual maturity in certain strains, like the autoflowering ones) They grow and look happy and healthy, no other signs of stress are visible.
No worries about getting "stressed induced hermies" as long as you permit 12h of continuous and complete darkness (less than .03 foot candles- on a clear night the full moon is about .01 foot candles) tru flower time , no matter what you have done with the light during veg...
Ojala hayas tenido una feliz y verde naviad!

hey Tom, jejeje I've got a 2 days coming up soon. There is a small brake after the football play offs and before the superbowl is when i've been plan'n to take them got to figure the exact days.

I had 6 out of 10, was realy happy...but some degenerate insect killed 2. I've got 4 going strong though. Realy would have been cool to have all 6 but I didn't think about use'n a tent since, well there was so much other plant material to choose from...ejje it's prety full in there. well except for too plants i'm forced to smoke early due to my dogs just make'n a mess of them, jeje i'm good and high so guess I can't be to mad. Wife and kids have been ask'n about you all too, hope you and yours are doing great along with your plans for this yr.

Great that you stop'd by my friend.

Agg,
Oye hace jeje opps sorry was still in spanish mode, thanks for the nice season greating my friend, its great to hear from you as it's been a long time. Hope all is well and the yr has kicked off to a great start for you and yours. How has your garden been ?

Naun Briones,
yes acutally we do reach about 10* C from time to time, specialy these days that have been realy windy, my cusin's plants are all purple. But hes got less then a 70% humididty, where I generaly won't go under 70%...jejej shit it's been more like a 100% with all this rain i've been getting in from the caribean last week, news said the front ends this weekend....jeje shit it better i've got buds that need some nice dry weather to finish in....not to mention to dry with too, so my plants as you can see just barely have changed any color.

jej well back to work,
Cool & calm
