Thanks Tesseracting.

A little late in posting pictures but trying to keep up...A lot of us have felt the pressure of the newly renewed, and entirely misguided, war on cannabis cultivators in California. Hope everyone is doing good and staying safe!

Wow! I dig your setup. Very clean and highly inspiring. Nice strain selections too. Should be a stellar result. Sorry to hear about the pressure on growers. That sucks. Hope they leave you alone bro. Best wishes.

Good to see some familiar faces stopping in - the good words are appreciated. I'm really fortunate to have highly inspired like-minded individuals whom tend the farm full time. We like our cannabis.

Thanks Smike Buddy. Design and setup are crucial to efficiency, both in time and material inputs, so a little planning goes a long way - especially in the dog days of summer when the plants are more like trees.

Schrews - No supp since we planted around the 1st of June and most clones won't flip if they've been acclimated properly. You're not using supp this year either, seeds yeah? I see some bushy ladies in your future. You foliar feeding this year?

EasyBay - grab those Black Limes and give them a run. Vigor, structure, yield and stank. We've actually got rows of Black Lime next to rows of Gorrila Glue and they look a lot alike in veg.

Hey Noonin. Everything typically gets topped at least once, somewhere between 18" and 24" - the pic from the May 30th planting were taken about 5 days after the topping, you can see that the plant is taking shape and the lower branches are filling up. By the June 10th pic, the plant has taken on the shape we like.

As far as squatty, sometimes pictures are a bit deceiving. Everything is between 4' and 6' and equally as wide - so we're pretty much right where we want to be at this point in the season. Nothing is too old, lacking vigor or constricted by pot size. Judging by past years we're setup nicely to get busy in July and August.

Hope everyone is enjoying this respite from the heat - sure makes gardening easier .

Would have liked to have pull this one no later than the 10th of June, but thought we could snap her out of her funk. Was a massive mistake to take her to the 24th of June.

Not sure Schrews. Wasn't growing on pace with the others, sometimes one pops up that takes but doesn't fully take. We thought it was a day or two from fully taking, it showed good growth but was surely lagging behind the rest and never caught up. Should have been pulled after 10 days, but life got in the way... Luckily we had extra 3' starts in Airpots so the transition was fairly seamless - will lose a percent on yield, but won't be a total loss.

Thanks Milky - nice to have you around.

Yes native soil is very tough, although it has relatively good drainage despite it looks. The native soil will get dressed in compost and a soil builder mix of beans, peas, vetch and oats is waiting for the cooler days of fall. Hope your gardening is going smoothly.

Hey thanks Zach. It was another good season - El Nino provided for a great fall which we were all thankful for. Kinda got sidetracked with the birth of my second son, and then started an IG so ICMAG fell by the wayside. Hopefully this season I can document the gardens more frequently:biggrin:

Beautiful man, great job and congrats on your son!

How did the mounds work out? Any problems with drainage or gophers?

Thanks bru. Mounds are great cause they're easy to install, cheap and you can always keep expanding them. At this garden there are no gophers due to the hard clay soil and elevation. And yeah, the hard clay can lead to issues with drainage; we prepped the clay heavily with gypsum and compost. In the fall we added a sod buster seed mix (from Peaceful Valley) to the garden to add shallow and deep root mass with the hopes of further loosening the clay. A second round of cover crop will go in April along with another 100 yards of soil - looking to add greater depth to the mounds.

Both mounds and bags work great - mounds are a more long-term solution and probably require more soil initially, whereas bags are pretty much plug and play. Aesthetically speaking mounds win.
