If the technology is there, we’ve gone the next step. Just as they have. It’ just a matter of putting things together. Putting a motor on wheels. Putting a motor on a glider. Combining a walk-in-talkie with a telephone. That’s how science fiction is written and that’s why much of it comes true. It’s natural progression. Development happens concurrently. Expense is the main limiting factor.
I’m not giving reasons for not protecting yourself or your neighbors. If you just chase him outside, he’s a threat to the neighborhood. That is important. Revenge killing is a different subject though.
if i'm in my house, someone kicks the door in & comes at me, "BANG!" but, merely being inside of your house does not convey the right to kill someone. if they turn and run, i'm not sure how else you protect the neighborhood from them except by shooting them. this is where the train jumps the tracks. an elderly homeowner sure can't run them down & hold them for LEO. but is it justifiable to shoot someone that is running away from you? it is a mixed bag of results, even in cases concerning LEO and fleeing suspects...

Thieves have more rights than we do. If someone breaks into our home we should have the right to put them down if caught. All these dumbasses think we should wait and see if they pose a threat. I had someone break into my home at 3am. The woke me up, and scared the hell out of me. I'm not a young guy anymore. If it was someone that wanted to hurt me id be dead. It was a kid 13 years old. He still got an ass whipping. I added a lot of security after that. I put a few guns scattered around the house using gun magnet mounts, only I know were they are.
not in my house they don't. that is true in Great Britain. they expect you to retreat & not protect your belongings there. i'm not going to shoot someone just because they break in. but they had better be headed for the exit when i see them. if they know i'm there & STILL break in, the headlines in tomorrows paper will feature them & their exploits in all of the gory detail...
