Hmm. Maybe I am just an old jaded salesman but it seems to me that TH is following textbook marketing strategy to create demand for his drop . . .

2. Information Scarcity
If you leak just enough information before launch, you can generate tremendous buzz as your audience searches everywhere for more information.

3. Leverage User-Generated Content
Sometimes creating demand for a product is as simple as letting your customers sell the experience for you.

4. Make It Exclusive
People generally want something more when they can’t have it. They demand to know why they can’t have it, what factor excludes them, and how they can possibly get access to it.

1. I mean if you look at this thread from the beginning, the hype was there while Tom was completely MIA for years. He really didn't have to do anything. He could have just been milking the cow the whole way through...
Blame MadMac for the Haze hype if anything, with his sexually explicit pictures making all NLD heads drool like crazy.

2.Info scarcity? How many breeders give as much info as Tom has about how they are doing their project? He told us the size of the growspace, light used, number of plants, filial generations he is using, ...

4.How is announcing $2/seed making it exclusive. Also, there are multiple THH repros and other OHz lines available, so it's the opposite of that. There is no real scarcity in Haze seeds at this point, it's more a scarcity of people willing to put the work in to grow and select them.

That doesn't mean he isn't cashing in on the Hype, but can you really blame anyone for trying to sell their product that didn't work so well for years when there is a surge of demand for it?
And it's not like he isn't putting serious work in his seed drop.

If anything the only real marketing Tom has done is to establish the credibility of his own product and make people question the quality of his competitors in a way that rang true for many.

Also, I don't see how you could attribute Tom's attitude in this thread to a textbook marketing strategy. :ROFLMAO:

I will stock up on different original haze lines and other haze lines from people who have done repros and do extensive selection back home in subtropical 19N, not in mediterranean climates or the likes in California. I think it is time more people from those latitudes show what those plants can really do in their ideal climate. In the not so distant future, this shall be common. At least it has already started.

good question, i put it into chat gpt and rephrased it a little, here's what it said
The odds of obtaining the 5% exceptional phenotype in the resulting seed will depend on the genetic composition of the plants you are breeding. If none of the 20 plants exhibit the exceptional phenotype, it suggests that the desired trait may be rare or recessive in the current population.
Breeding a smaller number of plants does not inherently affect the odds of obtaining the exceptional phenotype. However, working with a larger population of plants increases the chances of uncovering hidden genetic variations and increasing the diversity of the gene pool, which can improve the likelihood of finding the desired trait.
By selecting and breeding plants that exhibit desirable traits, you can increase the chances of obtaining offspring with those traits. It's important to implement appropriate breeding strategies, such as selective breeding, backcrossing, and phenotypic screening, to enhance the probability of obtaining the desired phenotype in subsequent generations.
also for me exceptional needs to be a quantifiable thing not subjective. each individual person can have their own definition of "exceptional". unless that term can be defined in a measurable way it's just a ghost to be chased. is exceptional a cannabinoid percentage, a terpene profile? is it something that takes more than 16 weeks or less than 12? without clear and certain goals no proper end can be achieved. just my .02 and I actually enjoy this thread.

your right so many diffrent pallates here ,we all have perspectives and opinions,,,truth a little different as it can be proven ,,,when i think of exeptional plants ive encounterd there is no mistaking them as all who try them get the same effect ,,,old ,,young,,, daily smoker once in a while smoker etc,,,, a sativa or haze club could be useful were all meet to compare etc ,,could have a cup but cups always seem to be about a platform for seed companys which a little diffrent ,,im talking turnips marrows and carrotts not big buisness lol
