Tiger's Den 4 - A New Toke

Now that is what I like to call "some serious penetration"!! I love how much light those 1000's put off, but I just cant afford to buy/run one. I'll stick with my 600 in a 4x4 space when I get it. So now for the rest of the smaller plants, are we looking for them to be the same size as these last ones when they go into flower? Those things are gonna be great big plants come harvest. I just transplanted one of my bagseed clones into a 1 gal last night. She is already alternating too, and its supposed to be a single cola producing plant. We'll find out I guess. Way to go with tha plants NT, they look great. Keep up the good work, and keep it Irie

They'll be very close to the same size :rasta:

Next candidate up for move is the Hindu Kush I mentioned earlier. Not only has she started AB, it looks like she's thrown out what appear to be girly parts :D

That is a cool trait to look for NT. Early A-symmetrical=early flower? I've got to start noticing good breeding qualities like that, you've shown some definite experience, great work so far can't wait to see those bag seeds ;). Also I bet that Hindu is gonna be frosted as HELL if it's a girl, good luck NT PEACE!

Yeah, that Hindu poppin' so early has really really caught my attention. It was dropped about 2 weeks after the 2 that I just moved into flower, and it is ready to join them!

Never ever seen maturity reached that quickly. And to already have identifiable preflowers? Wow.

Going to have to throw her in flower and see what happens. Even if it does turn out to be male (I highly doubt it), I'll keep some pollen, because a plant ready to flower @ 3 wks from seed would be nice to have around :D

Update time!

Well, bad news in the flower room - both the Kandahar and the oldest bagseed that were in there turned out to be boys :badday:

So, I went ahead and moved the early Hindu Kush over, and the B-52. Here's hoping for some better luck.

Flower Room:

Veg Room:

Oh, and the powdery stuff all over the plants isn't a disease or a defeciency, it's Diatomaceous Earth :D Gave them and both rooms a good dusting. If they make it past the exterior doors, which are similarly treated, then we have the entire floor of both rooms dusted as well. If they somehow get past that, and make it the goal of the plant, then they die anyway :D

'Til Next Time

Sorry to hear about the males NT, its always hard to cull a good looking plant. Everything else is looking good though. Keep up up the good work.

It's amazing to see dixie cups supporting so much biomass. Very nice job with the coco in small containers. Those plant's are showing no signs of defeciency. Looks like a comfy setup.

Veg room is empty, flower room is full!

Now, for the news-

Got a confirmed girl in the B-52 :woohoo: Looking like the Hindu Kush is a male though, but I'm going to make super sure.

The rest of the cast moved over into the flower room just yesterday. They weren't ready, no alternate branching or anything, but I had to get them over to hopefully reign in their stretching. Typical sativas, all legs

Ah, the vagaries of bagseed :D

So, the veg room is empty save for cuttings from the B52 and HK. So I can't help but look at these five Durban Poison seeds. Then I see the two Burmese/Trainwreck seeds.

hmm... NT - the durban poison are the south african durban poison x skunk #1 from Sam The Skunkman, right? I heard they don't germ well so you may as well give 'em a shot.

Now those trainwreck x burmese I would love to see grown out - was an accidental cross when burmese pollen was introduced on an adjacent plant - One thing of note about the trainwreck which is from wood horse and not true arcata tw is that it got much stronger and faster from clone then from seed. So give it them a go - why not - what do you have to loose?

I did :D

Dropped them in yesterday LOL, couldn't stand the sight of an empty veg room LOL

Also diagnosed a mag def on the B52, so it's back to the R/O water and calmag!

Got another confirmed girl out of the bagseed in there.

It is cool fun to grow out new crosses and the bagseed from seed. Last year I set up the best eight plants, and seven turned male, it is good to keep extras ready to go. Good luck with the phenos on your bagseed.

Hey everyone.

Looking nice NT. You got some nice strains there. Bonsai has some of the TW x Burmese seeds and I hope he will pop em once he is back up.

I have to be on the Cal Max myself with the LUI and OB1 I have.

Hey all, thanks for the warm wishes!

Damn Cal-Mag def is tearing along. Irritates the shit out of me that I did that. Word of advice for all you new growers - If it ain't broke, LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE!

I got to listening to other folks in other threads about how coco needed lighter nutes, and my nute formulation was too hot. Let them get into my head. So what'd I do?

That's right, I fucked around with what was working :spank:

Now I'm trying to recover, hopefully it'll save someone from the same mistake.

Dammit, I knew better! :cuss:

We'll get em back though, don't fret :rasta:

Damn, don't ya hate that? You're chugging along just fine and then an 'Expert' convinces you to do it 'better'... next thing you know, everything turns to crap and you're left holding the ball.

Coco is soooo tempting to play with, but not having ready access to a good source of coco or coco/hydro nutes.... it'll have to wait. It seems like a good solid medium, if a little finicky at times.

You'll get the girls back on track though, I'm sure of that. It just always seems to take a LOT more work to fix something than it does to break it. Too bad it's not the other way around.

its all good Nite Tiger! Youll find your formula! what i take from people saying coco doesnt need as much nutes is that it does just as good with less nutes, not that it requires less nutes. it took me one whole grow to figure this coco stuff out and now i got my formula down. this harvest is going to be much better because of it (well that and not overusing clearex haha). later!
