cool, lurkers are always welcome! wouldnt be a hard switch at all NT. i need to get a drip setup goin with my coco to make it even simpler. handwatering is very easy though. i just like not having to have a pump going! adds to the stealthiness.
yeah it's worth thinking about. i know yield is nothing compared to the fact of just having home grown quality. but if you can achieve both quality and yield then why not, eh? anyway, in the end it's not the system that makes the grow. although some systems make it easier for the grower then others, lol. i have stickied a few threads in the coco forum and they give one a real good insight to the different methods people are using.
anyway enough about coco. i also look forward to seeing how that healthy DWC girl does? should be a pleasure to watch, as long as you have the water temps under control dwc rocks.
Yeah gaius, I think I've read all the stickies over there Ever since I started lurking your thread, I've become rather partial to the idea of Coco
And yeah, that DWC is going to tell me a lot, because I should have her pretty well dialed in. Although, I think a nice P/K booster would be a good idea.
I think my water temps will hold pretty steady, this room being partially underground, and with that big brick heatsink you may have noticed in the pics
Heya Baker! Glad to see you've got your own thread going, I'll have to swing by in a bit.
Blynx - I actually have the paint to do that wall, but I had to relocate the SWT13 reveg girl into the pod sooner than I thought. Mrs. Nite wanted her closet back, and since I had the flower pod ready, I moved the Swt13 in. Once I had her in, I didn't want to paint around her, so that wall is unfinished until the flowering room clears out.
Update time!
Things are moving right along!
A small disaster in the veg room. While rearranging to compensate for the height of the BrainWarps, I miscalculated, and knocked into the Mother and MM's stand. The mother hit the flower and didn't really seem to notice, but the MM seedlings took a header. Both were knocked completely out of their cups, and one's stem snapped. I got them back into the cups, and I don't think you'll have any trouble spotting the snapped MM.
Now, onto the veg room, where things are starting to get to the critical phase. Counting from the start of 12/12, the Reveg girl as just broken the 14 day barrier, at day 47. From here on in, I'll begin monitoring the trichs. Here's how she's shaping up.
A coupla overall shots to get us started. If she seems to have shrunk, she hasn't. I've repositioned the flower room so she can take better advantage of the light, and that's put her end on to the door flap.
And now we take a look at how those buds present themselves.
Camera ran out of batteries before I could get shots of the DWC girl.
Damn NT
Those buds look so nice and tasty, I dunno but to me it doesnt look like they need to pack on a whole lot more weight. Looks to me that you'll get a pretty good harvest off just the one plant. How was the smoke off of the others that you grew out? This may make me sound stupid, but isnt your re-veg one of the canaries?
Anyways, I just wanted to tell you that things are looking really nice, as if you needed anybody to tell you.
resinryder- Thanks bro, glad you like them! I certainly can't fault anyone for lurking, I have a lurking addiction
BonsaiGrower- No beer to offer you with that popcorn BG, but would you like some homemade wine?
Teh_Baker- They're filling in, but they're not near as big as I've seen this strain go. But, given all the ups and downs this plant has had, there's no way to pinpoint exactly why she didn't yield as strong as I'd have hoped. Plus, the ones I'm comparing against were hydro, so it may be a case of apples and oranges. I'll start worrying about yield if the DWC girl doesn't put up the numbers.
The reveg is Sweet13, the 'A' pheno, if you're looking at the last thread.
James Morrison- Glad you came to visit the Den James! Glad to know you approve of the nugs
She's getting there. I'm fixing to snip a leaf and check the trichs to get an estimate on where she is, but 4/15 will be 60 days from the flip, so she's getting close.
I actually haven't taken anymore clones, although the mom does have a few available.
I just don't have any need for some new clones. The Brainwarps should be ready to flower here soon, and I'm debating about taking a cutting from them. Then the MMs will follow after, so the flower pod is already booked up until about July or August .
To be honest, after everything currently booked is harvested, I may be shutting down the flowering pod. I'll have to look at my stash when the last ones are finishing up to decide if I'll need to put more into flower. If things go as I'm hoping, the flowering pod will lay dormant for a few months
I may slice off another SWT13 clone, just to insure I have a known strain in my stash, since I've never tried BrainWarp or Mississippi Mud, but that's far from a sure thing.
Gotta look at the trichs, seems like we're right on target. Plenty still clear, but there are quite a few that are cloudy. Surprisingly, quite a few amber trichs as well!
Tricksy plant, I actually saw a few clear ones turning directly to amber!
So, I'd say we're right on target. She'll probably be ready within the next 10 days. But only the trichs know for sure
I dunno about you or anybody else in here, but your SWT13 is looking really good, and if you compare it to the quote you'll see what I'm talkin about. I think you should update again with pics for a good SBS comparison. To me, they look pretty much like the ones from Cuddy. Damn frosty and looks like good weight too. Keep in mind though that your SWT 13 has lots of branching and all of the weight is distributed to the whole plant. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised when you come out with a dry weight and cured bud to smoke. One more thing, how long do you cure for, if you cure at all?
You illustrated my point nicely Baker. Look at the mass on Cuddy's girl! My tops are smaller than his popcorn buds
Oh, I have no doubt I'll like the bud, hell, that's why I kept a mom I just think I could do much, much better on yields, as that pic illustrates.
Once again though, I believe that's hydro, so we may be comparing apples to oranges.
I cure for as long as I can keep the buds in the jar Once I have a steady supply (this harvest will be raided right from dry - I'll probably even quick dry some at harvest ), I'll let them cure for at least two weeks. A month is my fav though.
dont feel bad NT, i couldnt even keep my last harvest around long enough for a month cure aside from 2 small nugs hope she gives you the weight youre looking for! i know id be satisfied!
Boy, I'm a little overdue on the update, now aren't I?
Things are well here in the Den, with the SWT13 reveg on the home stretch. She's currently at 54 days. If she continues on pace, I'll bring her down this weekend. An inadvertent sample branch (I tried to trim a bit during dark cycle, for some odd reason) is absolutely fantastic. If I were going by my usual preference, I would probably chop her now. However, this time I vowed I'd let her go long, and let that full on indica stone run rampant.
So, this weekend, most likely. If the trichs say, we'll go longer - 60 is just a number
I've also found sampling is a lot easier on your mind when you look to the left and know you'll be harvesting again in less than 2 months
In the veg room, which I forgot to take pics of, all is well. BrainWarps are trying to go bamboo on me, so I'm gonna have to give 'em a little top. The MM has recovered well, and is getting about the proper business of vegging.
As far as the mom Swt13? Well, if I wanted clones, I could have 'em.
