Thinking of using local soil...maybe?

I guess I should use Mother Earth as an example. Maybe I should folair feed my wife twice a week, transplant on a regular basis, make sure she has plenty of air movement and lots of sun.

I guess I should move her back to florida. lol

I didn't want to gunk up Jaykush's thread so I'll ask you here.

I'm going to end up with a couple of yards of the planting mix I purchased and had delivered. I had an idea to have a coffin constructed out of 2x4 and plywood an put casters on it so that it can be moved.

The idea I have is to amend the soil, top dress with EWC and Marsest compost and grow out cover crops to fix nitrogen in the soil and then turn over the plant material and let it decompose until it's ready for use.

Hairy vetch, white clover, red clover, fescue, etc. - a standard mix from Naomi's place.

Whadda think?

I purchased a soil blocker to use for rooting cuttings. It's easier to check on the progress of the process - at least as far as the lateral growth of the new roots.

I use clear beer cups inside colored beer cups. Checking roots is as simple as pulling out the clear cup to check. I picked up the tip from a fellow grower..scrappy

This cycle was one of the fastest growing veg cycles I've seen. It seems absurd to claim that this was because I used aloe....but I'm positive that combined with 24 hr. MH lighting accounts for the fast growth.
I have one aloe plant that hates it here...may as well just donate it to the cause.

Amazing garden Capt.!
I'm definitely interested in incorporating aloe extracts into my "program".
I was wondering if you had ever heard of an aloe pulp juice made by Jayone foods.
Ingredients:
Water, Aloe Vera Gel Powder, Organic Cane Juice, Aloe Vera Gel, Citric Acid, Natural Flavor, Calcium Lactate, Gellan Gum, Honey, Vitamin C.
I found it at Trader Joes and it doesn't have preservatives.

Let me know if you want a link to the organic aloe vera gel powder. It's 200XX which means you add 1 part of the powder to 199 parts of water and you end up with full strength aloe vera gel. You would have to dilute it as you're currently doing.

A full kilo runs between $230.00 - $250.00 but remember 1 gram of powder makes 200 grams of pure, organic gel.

Someone posted about these a week or two ago...I haven't seen one in 20 years or more. Lemme know how well it works.

After a couple of hours playing with my new toy it's clear that there's a definite 'learning curve' involved in using these devices successfully.

Ya know - if you were to flush with RO water and then follow up with a flush that includes Budswell and finish up with molasses you could probably get rid of the orange cast.

That or use Adobe Photoshop and save a ton of time and water perhaps?

Just a thought - as feeble as it turned out to be.

LMAO

Seriously - that is one beautiful and healthy garden, Brother!!

Kudos to your (obvious) skills as a grower!!!!!!!

One of these days it'll all be over. One way or another this oppressive shit will end and human beings will be able to cultivate whatever the hell we want...somewhere.

Good news on the soil critters. All my pots are fully repopulated with blind soil thrips..didn't take 'em long to get back to bizznizz. I love those guys.... you probably won't hear that from most cannabis gardeners.

I've got a serious question about 'suckering off' on a strain that you know well - T.O.

On this last cycle I ran the Vital Earth Potting Soil product with my usual amendments - no need to run them by you as you know my deal.

The ONLY variable on this cycle was the constant use of aloe vera extract/juice/whatever term you want to use - nothing else was different.

Why am I seeing 'suckering off' around Day 35 with this strain? A strain that has NEVER shown this deal and you know how long I've been growing out this bagseed deal.

I'm more than puzzled.
