This thread is a goldmine of information, design and advice, definitely deserves it's sticky status :good:
Thanks marlo for starting the thread your a fracking champion mate

It was all UnknownProphet's idea!
Whats good UP!?

:tiphat:

...in stead of weaving the plant through is sorta lst it to the screen???

Now you talkin Geo. :)

My last run, I ditched the screens and went straight to the wall. Canopy was even thinner this way, which was better for me. Also left me with more space to work with.

Whats good Bobby? Thats a cool ass pic!
Glad to see you in the vert forum bro

:tiphat:

did u staple the netting to the wall?

Yea man. I'm done with the screens. This is definitely the way to go.
It gave me so much more room get in and train plants and more breathing room for the girls. I'm probly gonna be able to go up to 2 x 600 because of the increased space from the bulbs to the plants.
The yo-yo light mover helps too... :)

Round 2 is gonna be nice.

Grate thread packed full of useable info.I am re building my flower room and gonna light it up vert style. I need a little help with the set up. The space is 8 1/2'w x 12'd x 7 1/2'h... 3 x 600's and 1 x 400.
My issue is I have 33 plants to try and flower this round and trying to set them in a fashon that will that will work well with few problems. Was thinking of doing 2 colosseum's but dont think I can fit them in the space. These plants are around 2 foot tall and some are stretchers and some not so much. I want to keep them on a single level so that I dont run into height issues. I have plenty of 6 foot fence wire to make cages or line the walls with . Anyone got any ideas of a set up that would work for the numbers in this space?

hell yea ima be on wut u is on.thanx for cuming out d closet, wit ur set up!lol.i b thinking wut kind of super ganja teks that sum comercail guy are cuffing on!feel me.thank god for site like these with the free flow of info.peace 2 all, stay up

Greetings All & Thanks Marlo for doing this thread. Between this and your last grow thread...all very inspiring!

My question(s) revolves around ventilation & specifically air extraction ( vs in room cirulation). I'm looking at doing a bare bulb stack of 2x 600w hps + 1 400w CMH. Extraction point directly above this stack. Room size = either 12'x9' or 9'x9'

- would it be better to go with a larger room resulting in fewer exchanges over an hour period but more space for the heat to disapate into or a smaller room with more exchanges per hour. ( the cfm of the extraction fan being a constant between the 2 scenarios)

- How many exchanges per hour or minute or whatever do you strive for?

- Figuring CF of room vs CFM of fans is easy with zero static pressure but... I'm using a completely non-scientific guess that I will be in the 50-75% actual cfm moved through the carbon filter vs the advertised zero static cfm. Does that sound correct?

- When purchasing a carbon filter do you try to match the cfm rating of the scrubber to the zero static pressure output of the fan or ....?

Much Thanks!

Take a look at Bobblehead's 5.0 thread. He's running 3 stacked 600w with his patent-pending Bobbleracks.

A 600w is going to max out with about 12 square feet. (Approximately 3.5' x 3.5') If you stack them on top of each other, you'll be able to grow UP the walls and get nice penetration vertically, but you'll still be looking at a 3.5'x3.5' horizontal space to hit 50w per sq. ft.

Of course, you can probably stack your plants up to 5-6' tall if you have a column of light, so you'll be getting lots of space (vertically) to grow in.

Like I said, check Bobble's stuff, since he's actually doing almost the same thing you're proposing.

Cool..I'll check it out now.
Regarding room size...Ive found having extra room is sooo nice when it comes to working on the girls whatever my set up. I'm just wondering if having the extra room will cause more extraction issues or if it'll be a pluse because there would be more air to dilute the heat into
I'm looking at doing trellises around the stack with a max diameter of 48". That yields 14 sq ft with no dead corners since the trellises will form essetially a circle around the light stack.

off to check Bobble 5.0...

Nice Marlo.
The wall of weed setup looks easy enough. But how does the yield compare to the stadium or doughnut rig?

Greenmatter;

That is EXACTLY what I have been looking for in terms of a automated way of controlling my flowering room temperatures and reduce power consumption (I live in an area with some of the most expensive power cost's in the US).

Great link!

New grower here and after deciding on a vert. setup I was curious as to what size light I should buy? My tent's dimensions are 2'x4'x6.5'. I was planning on buying a 400w light but I was wondering with these dimensions that a 600w would be better suited? I'm also still debating on how to setup the inside of the tent since it's a rectangular shape and not square. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Heat will be a major concern running HID lamps in such a small space. Dont skimp on your ventilation

24" of width is gonna be tough to fit a 600w vertically imo. Expect to fry more than a few fan leaves.

Marlo, all I can say is ...WoW! :respect:
I'll be using this technique from now on, saves so much space in the flower room.
Its so simple!

tuned in for what comes next...
