Dip the bulb well into the canopy...

So i have been running vert for two rounds now and i am pretty happy with my results so far. The main thing that i am left wondering is what Sort of height will a 600 watt lamp cover?
I keep my plants 18 to 20 inches from the bare bulb but what sort of footprint (as in the height of the cylinder) will a 600 cover and still produce quality nugs and no larf?

Check your honeywell fans often. Mine burn out after a year of constant use.

Yup, mine too.It left me in a hallova bind as it was the dead of winter and no fans to be had anywhere.

I found a pricey Vortex brand tiltable at bed bath and beyond.

Spares will be bought shortly

Haven't posted in the vert section in a while. This was about 2 weeks ago......

Hey Marlo, I love the "wall trellis".
My only question is how are you going to flush those, seeing as how everything will be "tied up", so to speak?

Shmuts????
Are those like grow room putz?

:laughing::laughing:

i think it's Craven for Schmutz ........ in german it means smut or filth according to my dictionary.

are you letting the groupies follow you home again Craven? you gotta stay away from the shmuts bro!

He must've been talking about the dust bunnies. Pine boy and sir rips a lot both said their Honeywell fans burned out after a year. Did Craven's fan suffer the same fate or did the tinfoil hat protect it?

i will always be grateful to marlo for giving me the idea on how to rig a light mover for my vert setup, having my 1k's on a light mover has seriously improved the yield and quality of my grow.

Thank you Marlo and all the contributors to this great thread. I've already boosted your safety fence idea lol. I'm a noob at vert, so these vert threads are a huge help.

I've noticed very little light is thrown from the end of the bulb. I've since added a 250 watter to the bottom of my light stack. Also, I've noticed the plants do better in veg with the lights in a horizontal position. They seem to grow slower when the bulb is horizontal. This grow I will change to vert position when they've stretched a bit in 12/12.

Drapery hanging pins also work great for hanging pots off the safety fence. This has been working good to keep the tops of shorter statured plants level with the taller ones.

TY guys for all the great info!

Hey Marlo, hope all is well and it's green and sticky wherever you're at! :)

Subscribed, this is a great thread!

I have searched and can't find a thread for a DIY vertical automated light mover... Is there one?

works perfectly. I use a counterweight on the other end to keep the tension even on the mover wheels.
