Think Im Going To Tell My Landlord That I Grow Weed In His House....

That really is a pickle. Even if the LL is a cool guy, you can't in good conscience tell him anything.. and it won't help you in the long run if you do, even if he does side with you..

If you can't get a co-signer to help you purchase the home, then you can't really prevent him from showing it, only postpone the inevitable. A new pad, or at the very least, a temp space, is going to be required.

If i was you I'd be looking at renting a uhaul, and getting a nice storage space at the very least.

edit: wow lots of posts while i was writing this one.. well I stand by my stance..

If you have or can get a medical card and you live in San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Marin or Sonoma county(where there is no plant limit), you should be safe legally. The investors and your landlord may not like it, but there's nothing the cops can do about it.

if it really is the perfect house, i would tell him to double my rent and tell the investors to go away. would that work? is that probable?

it is probable and most likely what im going to tell him. but, i will be paying over 5k a month if that works!

the rooms that i have are built into the bedrooms. they took 15+ hours to build out and install. so, taking them out and getting a uhaul for temp storage is out of the question....

i think growing and always being around/involved with cannabis desensitizes us to the harsh fact of how other civilians view it.. you may have false sense of comfort about how this guy views GROWING weed.. just take sometime to evaluate how sour this situation could turn.. it'd be a HUGE kick the ass to lose it all... tough situation non the less.. i dont know the guy but it just sounds kind of wreckless.
good luck man - hope this guys cool

Rent a box truck, park it the garage, slam ur stuff in it & lock it up. Everyone can still see the property & ur garden wont be destroyed. JMO Just spray lotsa fabreeze! lol :bigeye:

I lolZ'ed at the fabreeze, hahaha.

Rough situation for sure, prolly better to just delay him, and then pull up stakes if all else fails..

Whatever you do, don't tell him, unless you want a partner, or someone who could potentially wreck havoc on all your current and future grows..

how is there no plant limit? either plant limit or size limit,it sounds that KB is above each 10ft x 10ft

I absolutely agree that being around plants all the time, while it makes you realize it's nothing more than any other flower, also can give you a sense of false security in others views.

Dude that is a shifty ass situation!! Remember the golden rule tell no one!! Use ur best judegement bro, but I think 5k a month is ridiculous but then again u do have 3 rooms. What ever u decide jus remember ur freedom isn't worth all that mess! Best of wishes to u!!

The more I think about it, the more I think stonewalling and being out in 30days, or telling him, fat bribe to shut up, and out in 60 days.
I don't think I could stay indefinitely with him knowing.
Plus like someone else said, your size is going to seem like a big grow to most average growers, to someone with no exposure it's going to seem like a massive dope factory.

I feel for you bro. Land lords have caused me horrible problems in the past. Good luck on whatever you choose. There may be no right answer.

Wow, there are actually investors looking to invest in real estate in cali. Have they been living in a cave the past 3 years?

I'd talk with him about what kind of rent increase its going to take to leave you alone. Ask him to short sale it to the bank or at least see what his options are. He is going to get fucked eventually, one way or another. Even if someone buys it, I bet he won't get what he owes on the place, so he'll have to short sell it then or fork over the difference if he has got it.

Tell him to go ahead and bend over now, let the banks fuck his credit and do a short sale re-fi. If it will help him for you to sign a 2 year lease agreement so he can get a short sale re-fi, I'd do it, even if rent goes up some.

Bad situation, that sucks, sounds like a great house though.

It's really your own business, but how have you been growing that large for several years and have no doc'd income? That doesn't ever raise any flags ?

Here's the way I see it... His problem is he can't afford the mortgage. So he either needs to increase your rent to an acceptable amount or sell the place. I don't see how telling him what you're doing is really gonna solve that problem. It might buy you a little time while you negotiate the rent raise, but still, doesn't seem justifiable.

So you really have to offer to pay a rent increase, buy the house, or move. If you like the house enough and can afford it, then pay the extra money and be done with it.

Have you looked into low/no doc loans? They aren't as easy to get as they used to be, but someone that has as much cash as I'd imagine you have should still be able to find one.
