The fact is that science and medicine are consensus based. The wide body of scientists look at whatever and then arrive at their conclusions. For any issue there will be a handful that don't agree with the rest. You can find a handful of doctors that think vaccines cause autism, i would venture to guess that 95% or more dont agree with that conclusion, thus the medical/scientific view is that they don't.
This does have its failings, but thats what we use.

Hydroxychloroquine was considered safe and was studied on for over 50 years, until around February then that all changed. Nobody will convince me that science is not politicized after that situation. That was basically the icing on the cake for me.

My brother's daughter was born with a malformed bile duct in her liver A transplant was needed. The bill was over half a million dollars. he chose Kaiser for his ACA and they he payed out of pocket less than $100.
The surgery could not be done in Hawaii. Kaiser shipped her and her mother to Minnesota where the transplant was done. Paid for everything except their food which they got at the hospital. It's a great program which assures hospitals don't get stuck with people who don't have insurance. It kept my brother out of half a million of debt he'd never be able pay back to keep his daughter alive.

He's been trying to do this 4 years and has promised a better plan, but nothing he says is the truth. What it all boils down to is this. Republicans feel heath care is a privilege. If you can afford it you can get it. Democrats think health care is a right. One day your daughter may get sick and need half a million worth of care. Insurance won't cover her because tRump did away with pre-existing conditions. Your daughter will die right before your eyes and you'd be powerless to get her the treatment to save her life. If that were to happen would you still worship tRump?
The 6000 dollar cap is the best part of the law and your too stupid to see it. Do you think medical care is cheap? A single heart attack can cost you $150,000. Under all insurances except Kaiser your still gonna be paying at least 10%. That means after your heart attach your still on the hook for 15 grand. Under Obamacare you owe $6000 and any other doctors trips are free. Another heart attack in the same year? You've already hit your max deductible so you pay nothing.

It takes years to studdy if its has any impact on Covid-19. So far its useless to use for Covid-19. yuor taking a med that helps in no way with Covid-19.

Idk, that was a weird one and I dont really have much to say on it, I think you are right that it got politicized.
I could be talking out of my butt, my understanding of it was that it was great for malaria or whatever its intended purpose, scientific studies and consensus agreed there. My take on where the break occurred was that it got pushed to treat covid and the scientific community pointed that it hadn't really been studied to treat covid, as it was a new disease, and it was a bad idea to have everyone take this drug that they didn't know if it would actually treat what it was supposed to. Then both sides dug in.
I could be very much mistaken on it. Wasnt something that was a big issue with me.
