This does not leave an open end to any sort of weapon. Should I be allowed to possess a nuke? a ton of ricin? how about biological?

There is a reason why the two statements were tied together in the amendment, to give the amendment purpose.

I believe right to bear arms is referring to any gun that you can physically hold. Arms = guns.

The national firearms act of 1934 should be ruled unconstitutional.
I don't care what happens in the land before time,Wishy washy, Boog. You continue to contradict yourself.

Amy Barret (from Indiana :))is a very strong advocate of restoring our right to bear arms as originally intended. She even believes felons have the right to bear arms when convicted of non violent crimes (now Indiana law) which I agree with.

Indiana law stands mute vis-à-vis long gun carry. There are some Department of Natural Resources (DNR) rules, but these only apply on DNR properties or to hunters. Generally speaking, possession of long guns is legal whether the gun is either on one's person or in one's motor vehicle, loaded or not, concealed or not. There are additional rules regarding firearms possession on ATVs and snowmobiles.

With some exceptions, Indiana generally prohibits a person from owning or possessing any machine gun or operating a loaded machine gun.1 However, this prohibition does not apply to any person possessing a machine gun “under applicable federal statutes.”2

Federal law requires machine guns to be registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF), and generally prohibits the transfer or possession of machine guns manufactured after May 19, 1986.3 In December 2018, ATF finalized a rule to include bump stocks within the definition of a machine gun subject to this federal law, meaning that bump stocks will be generally banned as of March 26, 2019.4

In addition, Indiana requires state law enforcement officers to issue a certification if requested by an individual so the individual can obtain a machine gun or other federally regulated firearm (as long as the individual is not prohibited by law from possessing the firearm, or the subject of a proceeding that could result in the individual being prohibited).5 Law enforcement officers in Indiana may be held personally liable for willful violations of the law requiring them to issue certifications.6

In 2019, Indiana repealed a ban on transferring an assault weapon to a person under the age of 18 and replaced it with a ban on transferring a machine gun to a person under the age of 18.7

I don't know shit about the 60's but I definitely agree that "all men are created equal" means just that. It seems like the 20's through the 60's were a time of tierney.

Tierney

Tierney is an Irish surname and forename. It is an Anglicized form of Irish Ó Tiarnaigh (male), Ní Thiarnaigh (female), also spelled Ó Tighearnaigh/Ní Thighearnaigh. It is derived from tiarna, the Irish word for lord or master. Five unrelated families of the name arose in Gaelic Ireland.

Hmmmmm......better look up that word!

Indiana is currently working to pass concealed carry for all guns, not just shotguns and semi automatic weapons. It's absolutely ridiculous that I can strap an AR-15 to my shoulder hidden by a trench coat but not with a pistol but that's about to change thanks to Jim Lucas and the Conservative/Libertarian movement.

Ooooooh, I wait on bated breath!

Friends in Ft. Wayne say different.

Well your "friends" are probably Democrats and Democrats have no power in Indiana outside of Indianapolis. Jim Lucas is by far the most popular politician in Indiana and supports all forms of concealed carry and the right to own automatic weapons. He recently endorsed the Libertarian Donald Rainwater because our commie governor supports mask mandates but doesn't support concealed carry or automatic weapons. If Donald Rainwater wins you can guarantee we get what we want.

Tierney is beautiful, tyranny is not.

This is a concern for 'Boogieman and the 2nd Amendment.
https://www.cnn.com/2020/06/15/politics/second-amendment-supreme-court/index.html Lots of issues to be decided. There are reasons for concern on both sides.

In Indiana we do have the right to form a militia no approval needed, and we have many. No militia is going around killing people, where did that come from?

They are most likely waiting for a majority in the Supreme court before taking up these issues. If Amy Barret is the nominee I guarantee that all changes.

How does everyone feel about the potential for a vaccine? Trump has been pushing it but it seems like 50% or more people in the US would refuse to get it because of the rush he has implemented. I am neutral currently in this argument just wondering how Trump supporters vs others will feel regarding this topic.

I do not want to take most vaccines myself but I for sure dont want to take some rushed vaccination unless its truly going to safely save me.

I'm not an anti-vaxxer and there is no way in hell I'm taking a rushed to market vaccine. When it's had tens of millions of doses and has been proven to be not only effective but safe, then yeah, I'll get it.

Yep, no way I'm taking trumps vaccine. I cant trust him doing it properly. No way we could know what shortcuts he took just to make himself look good.

I go with the herd vaccine theory.
If most of them take it then I can't catch it from them.
