We don't have the saturation of guns here like USA does, so it's a little different.
I have never heard of someone needing one to save their life here TBH.
There are still hunters and sport shooters, my brother has some guns and likes the sport.... everything has to be locked away in a steel locker, like a safe.
The needing guns to stop a tyrannical government is a ridiculous notion in my opinion.... maybe 200 years ago.
And there we have it ! Sheep much ? The United States of America recognizes individual rights. Your Masters not so much...

I don't know about that, I love shooting guns and hunting and the only people I know who don't have guns are felons, but they still come over and shoot my guns because it's fun.
Only gun haters I know of are on the internet, for all I know they are just paid Russia trolls.

I think you are underestimating the power of a well armed society.
First off majority of our military men will fight along side the people in a revolution ( as long as it's not communist group ANTIFA).
Small arms fire can take down a drone and aircraft as well, plus it's pretty easy to make explosives with a little knowledge of chemistry. We have too many people to lose, only way that would happen is if our government teamed up with the rest of the world, which I highly doubt since most of the world would want us to fight it out and have our own people destroy our military equipment.
Of course our government would have to really go fascist or communist on us before we get enough people together to destroy it.
a well armed and trained militia is only as good as it's leader, without a talented leader who knows how to make a plan of battle without getting his men chewed up during it. you need guys that can do the mission and bring their guys back. just look at the Saudis in Yemen if you want to see how even with the best equipment in the world you need good leadership to succeed. but you also need to be determined and hard as nails as the saying goes and thats where i wonder how prepared those US militias really would be? the Saudis seem to be fat, lazy and corrupt, so their military hits way bellow it's weight.
I think you are over estimating your knowledge of the 'majority of our military men' and what exactly they would do. As a matter of fact, after making that statement, how can anyone possibly take your opinion on anything seriously? That is how ridiculous an argument you are making. I am at least hoping you are a veteran, as you seem to know us so well.

This is why you see western armies acting more like mercenary forces these days.......with all their 'military advisors' going in by the thousands, to push whatever struggle/coup/battle or war.....for a price. Same as it ever was. The Saudi's don't look so good at being able to fight their own battles on their own, and as has been for centuries mercenary's and mercenary armies are often hired by wealthy invaders to help win their wars.
Those oil wealthy nations have plenty of wealth to hire foreign expertise and buy all the big toys for them to use in propagating any war they want in the M.E.....the western corporate military-industrial complex looks like a one-stop-shop for most all of their needs.
But as we have seen in the past, once you get a determined local population supporting a passionate and talented local leader who is fighting a guerrilla war for the very survival of their own communities with grass-roots help.....that can all change.

That's true, but the way I see it if Communists or Fascists tried taking over we would definitely have some bad asses like Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson, and Nathan Bedford Forrest. While the Confederate army did lose more Union men died in the Civil War.
Also if it was Communists and/or Fascists they will be vastly outnumbered by Patriots.
