hello bonecarver and kayaman, i hope all is good.
the native soil is real good, it can be a bit acidic on some areas but a little lime goes a long way. the soil is very black and soft and rich in organic matter, there are stones/rock in the ground too, but they do not interfere. the area is very agricultural, produces many vegetables and fruits.
the past few days some kind of intertropical storm (whatever that means, that is what the meteorologists said) concentrated tons of clouds around the area, the main road to get to the area is now closed because of 'mud avalanches', a few dozens of people lost their home and everything... i don't know when will this be fixed and so haven't been able to go up to check on the plants.
i sure hope everything gets cleaned up and that the affected people receive the proper help.
much peace!
