paz my friend you are doing great work. i love the color of your colombian swazis, they are golden red compared to the green of their neighbors. now you just need a nice deep purple leafed afghani for the complete contrast... but your garden looks lovely, congrats, i remember the problems you encountered earlier and it's nice to see everything blossoming now.

i may have to send you some special frijoles and see if they can earn their way into the temple...

hola dime! good seeing you; and thank you.
yes, some colas are getting fat indeed; it matches afropip's descriptions of the swazis perfectly too, the colombians i've been growing don't grow those fat colas.
i think they have at least about 2 more weeks, at most about 6 more weeks. they have been flowering for 62 days now.
tropical growing is real nice, but you know, like we talked about the other day, lower harvests per plant, but it's all good, u can grow year round to make up for it.

peace!

Muchu Gusto Senor Paz
I have read this entire thread in the last 24 or so hours. It is a holiday weekend here (Near Seattle) and as you may have guessed, it is raining. If that is not enough, my girl friend and I are not getting along. It is a good time to read.
I have always dreamed of doing what you do. However, I took a wrong turn in my life and became an engineer and got accustomed to a million stupid conveniences that Nobody needs, but I am caught in that trap. I have very much respect for you in all that I read. I do not think there could possibly be a bad bone in your body. The honesty that you exhibit, the tolerance for theft, the tolerance for bad luck (the cows) and the patients you show for growing plants that take a year put you in the priest status to most of us living in the cities. I feel I have grown from this thread and want to thank you. You have great people with you too. I could seriously imagine a trip there sometime to visit you and hopefully the holy temple.
Much Peace to you and all you do.

Paz, there are many types of Colombians, but yes the more Sativa ones "golds" will just give long slender colas that are very even and fill out from the stem to the very tip...but not coka cola bottle fat colas...if you have a more "Red" type you get smaller plants with nice fat buds. If you cross them jejejeje you get nice balence and faster harvest :)

DOing realy well my friend, and Randude siad it all very well...Keep up the great work and keep doing good...good will keep coming to you.

good day randude, well man, thank you for your kind words, and mucho gusto as well :) you know, the trap gets us all somtimes, whether we are in the city or not; ironically, the temple is located in a city :D it was funny to read that becoming an engineer is a 'wrong turn', afterall, it takes priestly ;) dedication to learn the trade well and tons of discipline to put up with the system's way.
more importantly, we all can build our own temples (with engineering skills even more so :smoke: ), and claiming the little territory within it as a free nation :bandit:
thankfully, as you pointed out, great people visit this thread, many who have their own irie temples, who have been an example and inspiration to i and many others ever since overgrow, chaman and mrs. medjool are temple care takers as well (thank you two :respect: ) always spreading the good vibe.
if you ever find your self around these parts of the earth, don't forget to drop a pm.
gracias,
and much good luck,
fuerza!

Where did you learn such great English Paz?
I look in here and wonder what the stories are. I know, too much information is not good for this.
I have travelled all over the world and smoked some good stuff. Kenya, The Philipines, Mexico. A common thread to those places were Sativa. The good looking brick I seen Red post on here looks like what we bought in the mid-70s as Colombian. Now, myself, I grow Big Bud, and besides being Dutch or Canadian in origin, I do not know much else about it except that it is an indoor Indica Dom. I have a couple other things going on in there, like a self flowering plant that has a mind of it's own. It does not have a distinct smell, but the buds on her will be ready to look a little closer at in a couple weeks while I am in a dry spell. If it is okay, I may smoke some of it, but I generally make hash out of everything these days. I guess I do not want to travel with a heavy smell of skunk on me when I am travelling. I use public transportation lately (I lost my license) and I do not want Anyone to know this straight looking guy with a crew cut is holding weed.
Anyway, a little hash and I am a typing fool. Thank you for the kind words too, and I meant what I said. You are a real grower.

I remember an oil tanker wrecking off the coast of Spain at a place called La Cosa Del Muerte, and it made me wonder why they even made the trip there. Stong names in Latin, but we do have a Death Valley in California too. It is an amazing place as well.

good day randude,
i learned english because i wanted to know what were some of my favorite musicians singing about; i remember some of the first lyrics in english that i was able to understand fully were songs by bob marley and sepultura :D what a pleasure it was to play air guitar and sing along understanding the song and without having to make up phoney sounding english to be able to sing along :D
i know what you are saying about wondering about stories regarding our fellow posters; the little one gets to find out of the people one meets here are very interesting stories; on the other hand, it is amazing to see how sites like og and the ic manage to draw together a community that for the most part is unknown to itself hehehe... doesn't matter if you are clean cut or don't even bathe nor do laundry; no one can tell who is who and it is thus harder to form stereotypes based on people's appearances (we can still give people crap because of their picture galleries and avatars though hehehe)
the quality pressed colombian red has posted can be some of the best ganja; although so very hard to get nowdays, it seems this is true even if you are in colombia.
your buds must have one heck of a smell if you are worried people in the bus will get to smell it on you :yoinks: doesn't hash smell strong too? i wouldn't know, as i confess that in the decade i've had a relationship with the ganja that i've never came across hash; not even in colombia.
have you ever seen guys like british hempire and elevator man growing pure sativas indoors? in case you would want to grow similar strains like those sativas you found in africa, asia and central america :joint:

much peace

Paz, randude, enjoying your running commentary! It's funny how I identify more w/ growers in other countries in general, than my U.S. compatriots.
Less bravado, more sincerity.
Even tho I prefer nothing over a joint of well-cured ganja, hash sure has it's place. A shame you've never had any hash, Paz. :frown: May well have to remedy that!
Peace, HL

Paz, Mi nuevo amigo. perdón mí Español y Spelling, I am an infant at learning that language.

Good day to you as well Highlighter.
It is amazing your English is this good Just from the Music Paz, But if I look I can see it. I love the old song Labamba, but I have No Idea what it is about. Maybe you can tell me.

You must have an amazing ability to learn. I hate to say things about myself, but I am the same way too. I am just having trouble with Spanish language though. (Maybe a right brain left brain thing). My first ever crop of MJ was pretty good, and my second will be very good. I have Big Bud growing, and it smells sort of like a skunk out of a bag in your pocket. I consider it a hazard, and if you ask around you will see that the Indicas really do that. I never even thought of that in the 70s when we were all smoking Columbian Brick Weed around here. If you make it into hash you do two things: You make your pocket stash smaller and you do take a lot of the smell away. If you make hash you really need to smoke a lot less of whatever you are smoking for a very similar effect. If you make as Sativa hash you will have a Sativa high, and if you make an Indica hash you will have an Indica high. I do not get what people mean by saying Indica has a more of a hashy type effect, but generations ago that is where the majority of hash must have come from.

I am a 46 year old white guy that is in the middle of a divorce, living with an American Indian and I am from a small town near Seattle. As it is right now, the Indian girl and I look like we are going to split up. I have covered a lot of the globe. I loved the people and those South of the USA. There are good ones and bad ones, but that is just where I feel the draw. As nice as Asia has been to me I do not feel that same connection. I do love Asian Women, but that is not on topic. I really love all woman of all races, preferring them darker over lighter.

I am thinking about making a trip to Someplace this September. I have not selected the place yet, but it will be most likely Latin. I am still doing the research, and I am sure that I will only have a week or so for the trip. I love Sunshine, but not too much in the Heat. Perhaps someplace in the Andes would be nice. I like my dollar to go a long way too. One thing also, I would like to get high and not fear so much the law or other kinds of crime. Any ideas?
I may get out sooner than September, that is an awful long time to wait, but my finances and my divorce are riding high on my budget.

Peace to All

Oh and the indoor Sativa, that is my current mission. I expect after July I will take all of my Big Bud and other Indicas away and I will have plenty of MJ to last me a year. I do not ever sell or intend to sell anything, (but my friends can have some of course). I want to use my indoor grow area (2Mx1.5Mx2.5M High) into a Sativa Grow. I am in the process of finding the right one now. Looking at Thais and Blues that can be managed as a single cola that I can wrap around the area as necessary. Ultimately I see me living in a place near the Equator though, and Spanish or speaking as well. My line of work may be the means to do that. Although I am an engineer, I am also working towards and MBA, learning Spanish and developing Latin contacts in regard to NAFTA related work sharing.
