Although, at a fundamental level, the Universe is made up of point-like quantum particles, they assemble together to create objects of finite sizes and masses, occupying specific amounts of volume. This artist’s illustration shows several electrons orbiting an atomic nucleus, where the electron is a fundamental particle, but the nucleus can be broken up into still smaller, more fundamental constituents. Whether there are structures on scales smaller than the presently known subatomic particles remains to be discovered.
Okay, not really sure what category to put this in other than here. It's only trippy if you think about the potential consequences I could have suffered, and it's definitely not beautiful, but I found this behind one of the grow tents in the basement this morning:
And yes, that's a copperhead on the right and a mouse on the left, both having given up their mortal coil.
I absolutely hate these fucking glue traps, because occasionally I'll get a frog. But to keep me from being bitten by a copperhead, especially after I was bit by a rattlesnake 3 years ago, is a sacrifice those poor fucking frogs are going to have to make.
I've got a video where you can see the maggots crawling around but not sure I'm going to put that up on YouTube... but it sure is trippy.
