The Search for Trip Weed

Habit of losing cuttings?!

Preserve them by selfing them and sharing the seed far and wide.

I'm not big on selfing due to the bottlenecking of genetics, but your point is understood. My situation is not so simple. I must find the room/resources to flower indoors. I know what to do, but now is not a good time. I'm looking for a new place to live. I'm not about to build something bigger than my overloaded small grow cabinet at this point.

You win some, you lose some. I don't know anyone who avoids this.

Thanks for your shared interest and information in pinene! It seems to give me the spiritual profound type of high that appreciate. Keep it coming.

I heard from that guy also. In all honesty, I thought the main attraction of the Lebanese Blonde was the color and the excellent flavor. It also might have been the genesis, in part, of Colombian Gold. I would not discount the possibility of finding individuals from that line being exceptional trip weed. I thought Colombian Gold was also about flavor, but I believe it was distinctly euphoric. Intense euphoria is a type of trippiness by my various definitions.

Hallo ThaiBliss!
In the 70s there was in our country, in Europe, often blond hashish from Lebanon. The effect was euphoric, very social and mood-lightening.
But really trippie it was by far not.
These were more the Asian varieties from Thailand and Indonesia.
Columbian, Hawaiian and varieties from Jamaica were also a "revelation", but not like the best asian landraces.
The strongest, trippiest weed was the "tripping sumatra" which I unfortunately did not know before 1981.
This has shot some THC resistant freaks in space :)
Hope you can understand my terrible google english:biggrin:

Hi Sota,

I agree. S.E. Asian weed was the pinnacle of the best and trippiest weed in my life. I had Sumatran once. I smoked it a number of times, but once we were out, it never came around our circle of friends again. I remember it being very similar in effect to the Thai Sticks we were getting. The difference I remember is that it wasn't wrapped on a stick, it was golden brown, and the buds were bigger. I remember a leaflet stuck to the outside of a bud, and it had the jagged serrations that I associated with Thai seeds I attempted to grow and mature, without success.

I have to say that the first few years I smoked were while Mexican was top dog. Fine Mexican was very good. It had much more happy effects with distinct hilarity and good vibes. With great S.E. Asian, you have to hold onto something for a while until you got yourself under control. It's scary, but in a good way, like extreme sports. Mexican was more blissful. It can be phase shifty like mushrooms, but that shock wears off quickly. The good Mexican disappeared faster than the Thai Sticks. They were spraying paraquat on the fields. We moved on to Colombians after that.

Now you know the story behind the moniker.

SierraPadre - I have not yet sprouted those Mextiza seeds. I was thinking of using a male to kick off the Mexican Pine / focus weed line. I may still do that, but I have a Bangi Haze male for one of the piney strains I have. The Bangi Hazes I've selected are definitely display the Mexican happy weed types of effects. When I roll up the cutting selections more, I be able to start sprouting new varieties.

I agree, in my experience, feminized seeds are not as resistant to pest, overall weaker genetics than regular beans.

My goal now when creating seeds is to use parents that are not related, using males and females from completely unrelated lines...

The only time I grow feminized seeds is if I am after something really special that is not available in regular seed form like high cbd cultivars.

I am shying away from growing my feminized seeds even though the seeds came from phenomenal females, if no male pollen was used and I find seeds in random buds, I eat em, or get rid of them.

What a great thread topic! I'm late to the party, but I remember getting some Acapulco Gold back in the worst of the droughts around 1989-90. Really trippy!
Also, I remember someone selling "Hawaiian" but idk... it looked like your average brickweed.

It was mostly leaf and some tiny popcorn buds, but you got so damned high from it.

When decent indoor growing got popular shortly after that period, (Bush Sr.'s war on the people and human catnip lol,) Someone offered me some Afghani something or other and holy crap. That was the first time I tried an indica.

You would have a hard time even getting someone to try it these days. I can't believe people look so dimly at small buds, leaf, compressed bud, or anything not green.

Glad you had the chance to try these. The worm had already turned back in the early '80s.

It's a shame that people would turn their noses up at those kinds of buds because it's awesome weed. Top 5 for me.
We'd roll a pinner, 3 of us smoke it and we'd all be high as hell for hours after that. We'd avoid going near town for a while hahaha.

Weed doesn't have to look like a HT spread to be really good!

Yeah the most trip weed I had came from Antigua. Looked like stright dark green lawn clippings. Not much crystal. Smelt like wet hay.
But had no ceiling and launched you like a rocket ship.
So potent it was a bit scary.

High Times is responsible for NL#5 being in just about everything. Boring boring high

LOL @ HT...

It's weed porn. Geared for eliciting a visual response.

ThaiBliss..funny you mention Mextiza and Banghi Haze together. A few friends have compared them with Banghi getting the nod for being more euphoric.
