Hi ThaiBliss! Great growing!

I tried what you are doing last year and was a bit heartbroken at the results. Between the weather and the surrounding trees dropping fir needles, pollen, and other wind driven debri much of what I harvested wasn't good for smoking, and I ended up saving it for making bubble hash. This year I'm doing strictly Green House grown to keep all the crap off my plants to keep the product as clean as possible.

Here is my trip weed selection for outdoors:

Zamaldelica 09 clone. I just harvested the mother plant at 17 weeks with a partial early harvest at 12-13 weeks. Smoke tests from it are fantastic so far. Black Pepper thai pheno with really small but extremely potent and trippy fox-tails.

Nice greenhouse! I'd love to have one like that.
I believe I have a similar Zamaldelica pheno, strong black pepper smell and taste, went 17 weeks just as yours and had the thinnest leaves and a lot of stretch.
If I'm right you're in for a real treat, keep a mom and protect her with your life! I wrote a report in the Zamaldelica thread (HERE).

A little update on my cambodians enjoying the artificial sun. The oldest is showing alternating nodes now. I'll let her grow a few days more and then take cuttings, once I have a good, rooted clone it goes into the flowering cabinet.

ZanzibarDawa,

You posted a great smoke report. This is exactly what I am after. I believe my first attempt was one with a Malawi leaning chemotype, similar to your #2. I hope you don't mind me copying your report of #3 over to here, since I hope to avoid anyone skipping over it.

"Zamaldelica #3

This is the Thai/Zamal pheno, although I believe the high to be pretty much Thai leaning.
Here is a copy of my preliminary smoke report:
The smell is some hints o fruit some earthly tones and a LOT of black pepper, almost makes you sneeze. The high is very clear and focused, happy but not so much giggly more a state of bliss, energy rushing through the body. You don't feel as high as you actually are as it is so clear, cognitive tasks are relatively easy given the altitude After all I read I could imagine it would remind some old timers of good Thai weed. There is no fatigue or hangover, just a very pleasant, happy and refreshed/energetic afterglow. Definitely daytime/party smoke.
I could well imagine that it gets extremely psychedelic and trippy in higher doses, will try.
She will be killer with a bit of a cure.
The smell has by now changed to almost all pepper with some earthy and ripe mango undertones.
Dubi, is this a common pheno and where does the pepper smell/taste come from?
My preliminary report still stands, but I want to add a few things.
As the other ones, this too is a creeper, first effects maybe 4 minutes in and then keeps building. In higher doses the waves hit quite hard here, not as gentle a rise as #1, more a rollercoaster going into free fall.
Just as #1 is putting a smile on your face, this puts a big fat smile on your soul. It is very blissful and clear.
Makes you feel you are radiating light and pure energy from the inside out. At the same time it is extremely profound. This is more than just happy weed, it has a somewhat mystical aspect, almost transcendental. Time is slowed way down. Perception is greatly aqltered. It is not as visual as #1. It is more seeing the world with new eyes than seeing a new world. But then my living room looked green...it actually is blue.
What I really like about this is that it lets you sit there in awe and pure astonishment. Due to the strongly altered perception listening to music is amazing too. That said, I could see that for some paranoia could be a problem with this as it can be quite overwhelming and is so profound, once you have lift off you are in for the ride - for better or for worse, but there is no way to withdraw yourself from the experience. This is way past ++ on the Shulgin scale.
The afterglow is just as blissful as the high and lasts the longest.
I think this pheno has some very special and rare aspects, but it would be a waste to smoke this too often, this is a special treat!"

Thank you for your posts. The Cambodians are looking good.

My Zamalrdelica #10 is very incensey with a spicy smell. I believe it to be a Thai pheno because there is a similar part of the flavor to the blueberry Sativa's I grew. I wouldn't really days it's peppery. Delicious though. Bits of fruit notes, fumey and kinda gassy in a good way. Lots of familiar smells from when I used to smoke imported brick weed but way more in your face. I'll be hitting her with my nevilles x oaxacan if I find more males in my last 4 seeds. Expecting them to show sex any day now. Also using a blue sativa male on her. He was the only wife leaf plant in the pack and the most stinky. He has a crazy buzz similar to my Mr nice skunk haze.

A buddy used to be same male on a ghost. Getting close to harvest and out of 18 girls all look decent, a few absolutely reek. Most leaning toward the blueberry side but with way harder buds. A very early smoke test (1 hermied) was surprisingly good. Soft smooth smoke. Full flavored kinda weak berry but yummy til the end. I burned one and went on an hour long drive I usually burn one both directions and felt no need. Buzz was all up and in the head. A tad heart racey. So far I'm glad I've kept him alive.

I don't post a lot unless I feel I have something to contribute which I know nothing compared to many of y'all. But I'm still here and following along enjoying every post.

I was wondering if there are more breeders I don't know about to find some of these strains? I know of Ace and Cannabiogen but are there other good ones to keep in mind? I'm sure a lot has to do with who you know but I'm just getting back into this after 20 years and don't have any connections anymore. Especially someone interested in sativas/NLD and landrace strains.

I do have some outdoor plants going including 2 malawi from Ace and some skunk xxx from TH.seeds. One of the skunk has narrow leaves, a few 11 finger fan leaves, and is the most vigorous and branching. But it hasn't given any hints on sex while all others have, 2 females and 1 male. Some I'm crossing my fingers it will be female.

Unfortunately, I neglected the malawi pretty bad and didn't up pot them or get on the ground until just recently. But I'm dealing with my own little hell right now as I have mostly stopped a decade long use of super high amounts of opiate pain pills for chronic pain. I'm doing it by myself which isn't easy but the worst part is your brain chemistry being all out of whack with crazy mood swings and some depression. But things are getting better every week and I'm finally giving the plants the attention they deserve now that I have more energy and motivation. I still have pain though not as bad as it was at first. Which isn't awesome but the long term effects of as much opiates that I was taking was worse and hopefully I'll get some of my life back.

Anyways, I'm in central Florida and with our intense sun and heat I think some of these strains may do very well here. Just need to keep trying new stuff. I hope to continue to grow my seed collection of these more unique strains and do my part in keeping them around. I also plan to do straight seed runs of individual strains to give me better chances of finding some keepers as well as sharing the love with others to try and get these strains in as many hands as possible. It will probably be slow going with these long flowering strains but they are what I like and is worth it to me.

Anyways, sorry for rambling and going off track. I planned on just asking about breeders to look for but my fingers move faster than my brain sometimes and this is the result.

Take care everyone!

By the sound of your smoke report you have already found your grail. I may have to try this strain. Do not like heart pounding stuff but if it is worth the ride....

dubi suggested the Zamaldelica for visual effects, you seem to confirm this.

I think the search for the Holy Grail can never be over, it is about the search, not about actually finding it;)
But this might be as close as I get and I am still completely in love with this plant.

Zamaldelica can be very visual and I found two firm keepers out of only three plants. I can wholeheartedly recommend this strain.

That said, Zamaldelica can be racy and quite a ride, depending on chemotype, so better fasten your seatbelt. But it is all worth it 100 times over.

I agree man. Zamaldelica really is a top notch keeper. Just chopped all my ZD and from clone I can say it is even that much better. Mango and spices, with a very upbeat high. I would say there is quite a bit of euphoria with only a few weeks cure. The biggest notice I realized from it being a clone instead of straight seed is the upbeat effect was more noticeable. From seed the upbeat effect was a 4/10 now in clone form I'd say 8/10. All harvested week 11-12 both times.

Can't wait to cross her with Double thai, Thai stick and others like Oldtimer's Haze and Queen mother.

Hi TB, out of all the lines I grew last year - Haze, Copalita, MM crosses and a few others - this old mutant 13 finger Thai was definitely the best, with a sweet citrus nose and the sweetest uplifting high. Very spiritual euphoric weed with elements of pareidolia...and best of all, no hermis...

Nice! I'm wondering if you posted this because of the male I found this year, and previously posted. This male I found has similar mutations. I'm kicking myself because I chopped it back severely yesterday, but I did find an example:

picture.php

This male has lemony, perfume, and menthol aromas, like the best female. Best of all, it was the male that showed its gender the earliest.

As everyone knows, I consider the old Thai Sticks we used to get the pinnacle of Cannabis breeding, for the high that I like. I have been growing a line for many decades where I have been crossing to anything of what I consider high quality, usually ones with some amount of Thai genetics in them. Occasionally I even line bred, like a real breeder. I did go off the reservation and cross to an indica plant that was the best tasting weed I ever grew, and regretted it. I did stick with the line, and the most recent crosses to it were Burmese (looked like indica, but great high) and Trainwreck (Thai x Mexican x Afghani). The bottom line is that I have been throwing Thai genetics at this line for quite some time.

The weed from this line was the best I had last year. My patients/testers know that I love the cerebral, trippy, and energetic traits. One patient commented that "It makes me want to get outside and do something, but makes me anxious if I don't." LOL

Hey! Wait a minute! I just looked up the definition of pareidolia.
I think you may have just suckered me.
Hahahahaahahaha!

Ah... but you have not smoked this weed. I swear I'm going to come up with a Thai like strain that grows in a Mediterranean climate, like the one I live in at 42 degrees north. I'll name it Yankee Thai or something similarly hokey.

Destroyer x (1973 Highland Guerrero x Blueberry) - (DS x HMBB)

Destroyer x (1973 Highland Guerrero x Blueberry) - (DS x HMBB)

Ds x HMBB with a 2 month cure, still smoking a little green..........

DS x HMBB has more resinous flowers and a stronger, more complex, grounded, and denser high than Punto Rojo and Copalita Oaxacan. Punto Rojo and Copalita Oaxacan have a fresh uplifting cerebral high, that poly hybrids like Mango Haze, (1973 Highland Guerrero x Blueberry), or DS x HMBB don't have.

Where I grew up, there was a saying about corn... "Knee high by the 4th of July." I adapted this for Cannabis. "Chest high by...". I put a lot of effort into my garden this year. I'll have to modify the saying... "10 foot high by the 4th of July."

Happy Trip Search,
